  • Carl Betz grew up in a typical suburban town in Pennsylvania. He knew from a young age that he wanted to take his passion for acting to the stage. He formed a small theatre company as a child and that proved to be the beginning of his lifelong acting career. Yes, even as a child he knew exactly what he wanted to be doing with his life and took the initiative to start doing it.
He studied drama in college, got drafted into the military, and served in WWII. When the war was over her set his sights on Broadway. It wouldn't be long until he was playing small roles in film and television. He was definitely beginning to make a name for himself. Producers also began taking notice of his rising stardom and immense talent.
You probably know him best for his role as Dr. Alex Stone on The Donna Reed Show. He was an integral part of that sitcom for its 8 seasons and 275 episodes. Halfway through it's run though Betz almost left the show. Facts Verse is going to take you on a guided tour of the life of Carl Betz and what led up to him almost abandoning the show that made him into a star.
Throughout this eye-opening inside-look at his life, you'll learn just exactly what was the driving force that moved his acting forward. What was his childhood like? Where would he get his start in television? What did he think about his roles and parts? What was his most gratifying piece of work? All of these questions and more will be answered in this revealing look at the life of Carl Betz.

Dr. Stone was probably the most handsome of the classic TV sitcom dads. The Stones always seemed like a genuinely real family to me. I heard that Carl, Donna, Shelley and Paul would go out to eat together after the show finished, and people would look in awe. They were considering doing a reunion special, but sadly, Carl passed away before they could do it.

Carl Betz was easily the most handsome actor on TV, but it seems he didn't have enough to do on the Donna Reed show. Donna's character was often overly sweet, saccharine, and a bit Pollyannish, but it was a great show. My favorite throwback TV show was Father Knows Best, scripts and stories more believable, always made an impression on me, and most episodes usually had a lesson the family learned, along with the audience. Great shows, an era needs to return to again.

Some courses in video production are needed here. Aside from confusing stills and out of order, or unrelated clips, by the time you lead to your point, you don't go into details about why he changed his mind, and conclude with why his decision was crucial to the show continuing for two more years. This is your subject, not a profile on his entire career. Focus and better organization is needed especially since you mention "facts." Let's get them straight, including images in correct time lines and context.
