Great review Russ. I bought this dashcam and I’m loving it. A couple of things that I found out in the short time that I’ve had mine is that if you set the rear and cabin to 720 P you get 2160 P for the front. Also I had to look up that WDR stands for a wide dynamic range which might help in those bright lighting situations. Also the main camera module allows you to plug it into your computer in USB mode which means that you don’t have to keep on removing the card every time you want to review your footage. Thanks for the comprehensive and high-quality content that you provide on your channel!
So true about the hit and run. Just happened to me last Sunday and they took off, so I'm stuck for the repairs. Not anymore. I just purchased this dash cam and I can't wait to use it. Thank you for the review confirming that my choice was the right one.
I have a dash cam, paid $200.00 for it. Got out of a $400 ticket. The cop was totally wrong and a judge agreed. Leave your ignition switch on even if motor off, it’ll record what the cop says.
Great review Russ. It looks like the best dashcam I’ve ever seen, great quality and everything well thought out (one cable connection to rear cam, usb plug in the top of the cigar plug charger.and It’s available on Amazon in the U.K. Hope your family are all ok during these very strange times of covid19, keep safe, keep well. Thank you for the timely review. I've been looking at this system for our family car now that we have a teen driver. Seems like a pretty nice set-up. Unfortunately, I too lack the patience for the installation, fortunately we have a car stereo dealer/installer that will put one in for about $25. Well worth the money in my opinion.
I love my Vantrue 2, and wish I had a rear camera like this model and it was about $50 less. I have, however, filmed several fender benders in my traveling. Nice job with your presentation Russ!
After watching you video I bought one. GREAT product! Video quality is amazing on all three cameras and audio in cabin is great. Thanks for the review.
The patience bit was a nice touch... I think that message appeals to many companies of great many variety of products... Thank you for this review well done. ❤️ Also this seems sooo much better than VanTrue N2 Pro that I'm currently using.
Absolutely love the presentation - thank you for that. Question - if you get pulled over for speeding - does the N4 record your speed? If not - can you suggest options
I have had a dash-cam for over 5 years. The biggest plus for a dash-cam is license plate recognition. Both front and rear look great but the true test is from on coming vehicles that are moving and stopped. Could you please comment on reading license plates from on coming vehicles. Thank you. Great video.
Great commentary I did get one I am looking forward to installing it I did get a extra wire where I can hook it to the fuse box I was watching a video where they said if you want 24 hour surveillance it would be easier to do that
Nice review, Russ! I've installed and used several dashcams over the years with up to 1080p. I like the fact the N4 has 1440 resolution for the front camera. Ideally, it would have 60 fps recording, but even with 256 Gb, it would fill that up fairly fast before over-writing the data. It doesn't look like dash reflections are too bad into the sun for the N4. Mine have had serious issues in my pickup; I've seen recommendations to install an after-market circular polarized filter if I could find one. And yes, running the wire back to a rear camera through the headliner is always a real PITA. For that, I would pay someone to do the installation and cable run, and save on the frustration!! Dash cams won't prevent an accident, but they certainly can help in case you are involved in one, or are a witness to one. And yes, you can even upload your in-vehicle singing performance to your favorite song to social media channel :)
"What's in the box" section could be easier to watch if your hands kept still instead of "bouncing" whilst you are talking!!! Great editing, having the 2 pictures in picture, and the "break outs" to show more detail explaining your commentary. I also like the text in the bottom left corner, from time to time, giving details of the footage. WiFi connection to the cameras would be better than having to run cables.
Regarding movement of your hands, I agree with precious comments. Show various angles if you prefer but, keep your hands more still. Otherwise, I enjoyed your review. I'm a subscriber 👍🏽
I've had an X3 for a few years.I tried a Garman with a hex magnet for a mount(which was a nitemare, and complete waste of money). But I bought a GPS and and a wire that goes to the test receptacle under the dash that stays hooked up all the time.I learned for myself that leaving it plugged into your vehicle will kill your battery. But I still have my X3,sometimes the GPS doesn't work but other than those 2 problems, and with firmware updates I performed the X3 has a great resolution,I use the phone app I got from the playstore for resets and downloading videos and pictures,it is a great dashcam and I know of no others that come close to it.
I have a Blackvue DR900S and one feature I really like is to have the camera connected to the Cloud. So I can receive alerts on my phone and I can look remotely at recorded videos or watch a life stream when my car is parked. I'm just surprised that during your review "Vantrue N4 It Doesn't Get Better Than This!" you didn't mention if this dashcam might provide it. Hi, sorry this cam doesn't have any app, this socks. You probably need to eject the card out of can and attach to your laptop to transfer files or take away the cam out of your car and transfer via USB cable provided with it.
Another big negative is no WiFi capability. So how hard is it to get the video files off the camera and onto another device? What software do I need to edit the videos etc?
