Richard (and im pretty sure thorin as well) are anti saudi which basically run/own the esl and blast events, they have criticised both event organisers for taking ethically dirty money from saudis, who breach human rights and punish/harm members who are part of the lgbt community. despite esports being an inclusive community, taking money from sponsors that arent morally/ethically aligned shows these orgnisers greed for money as well as lack of finical responsibility/stability by event organisers and orgs, its been to the point where in the saudi ESWC, some teams who were participating could not guarantee the safety of their team members who were part of the lgbt community, demonstrating teams going so low for money to risk players getting potentially in harmed, despite championing lgbt rights and inclusivity. richard made a really good video on this topic as a result due to moral reasons, Richard doesnt want to partner with saudi associated events, and because of his constant criticisms of teams and organisers, hes most likely been blacklisted from working those events anyway. im pretty sure that sums up the gist of the reasons for richard, i couldve missed a few things or there are few more reasons, highly recommend watching richards channel to get a more accurate reason. regardless he makes good content regarding the esports scene that isnt directly in-game related that i recommend watching. im assuming thorin is in the same boat as well but doesn't go as explicit in as
RL is a journalist and keeps exposing the dirty laundry of the big TOs, so they won't hire him. Thorin is too "risky" for TO's who want to avoid all controversy and offending anyone.
