    Crawling is addicting. My brother and co-worker told me I was stupid for buying a truck that goes so slow. Fast forward 1 year they each have 3 crawlers!!! Love the channel, be well. You def touched on all the important elements of this segment of RC.

    What I love about RC is that despite the feeling like you are a weirdo who spends too much on toy cars.... the minute you take it out, every person who sees you is interested, chats you up, checks it out, and so on and so forth. Even people who don't care about cars or toys or whatever seem to be drawn to these little things. It helps you get past the superficial "hows the weather" questions, and gets people to open up into actual meaningful conversation. It's being able to break the ice with a simple mechanical pet that draws me in, but also i love the mechanical part of the hobby and driving these things.

Well the costs could be cut back, but where's the fun in that :) Big toys for big boys or girls! RC budget: kids grew up and moved out.

    Great video! I think in order to be unbiased, you should do a "top 10 reasons why RC crawling sucks" video. I'll start:
    1. Everyone thinks you're dumb for spending so much money on "toy cars"
    2. You think it only costs $200-300 until you get the upgrade bug and then are into your kit for $1000+
    3. People think you're being mean when you don't want to let their kids drive your $1000+ "toy car"
    4. The right amount of RC crawlers to have is the amount you have plus 1 (neverending money pit)
    5. It still hurts when you see your $1000+ crawler roll down a hill

    • @dbrandhout9800

      Start racing and you discover the real endless moneypit.. my old scx10 last for 8 years and still its fun to drive. Nevermind other people. Yes its toy and yes you can go F*ck yourself and let me be excitement.

  • @georgschmidt1
    @georgschmidt1 2 роки тому +1

    I have a couple of more reasons: it serves all needs for human desire… something theoretical (all the math around with gearing, weight distribution, watching youtoube etc.), something practical (soldering, screwing, mechanics and electronics), fun as you said, a challenge (skills, improving over time, getting more control) and you can have an evolution by spending money or DYI… The community aspect comes on top that… The good thing is that the companies realized that and they provide quality for money. It feels good! It is great FUN!

  • @areldcookie5581
    @areldcookie5581 2 роки тому +1

    The second one isn't really the main reason. Don't get me wrong, I'm an RC driver, pilot, and enthusiast as well.. but talking about lifestyle and gym/health, it's funny that you get bored while exercising in the gym lol, that's also a lifestyle that everyone needs not a force some kind of stuff.. you're telling people about gym/working out/healthy diet, like it's really hard and you "shouldn't do" kinda vibes...

    The virgin rc crawling
    *slow
    *finding good rocks or areas to crawl is difficult
    *susceptible to get stolen (true history :(
    )
    *dogs can do a lot of damage to your little turtle
    vs
    Chad Rc Monster Truck
    *insultingly fast
    *you can safely used in any place
    *if some one gets to curious just go faster
    *can crawl if you do some mods
    *you can witness your rc do really remarkable things
    *babes are attracted to this things the faater you go

I went for speed of course because that is what I have always done. Then I came across this channel and this video and I got interested. Well a few weeks ago I purchased a element enduro sendaro after watching rc review videos. And I have to say everything in this video is spot on!! I am having a blast. I don’t have much natural rock where I live but I have a rock pit in my backyard that is plenty challenging. My bank account is going down. I can’t stop buying up grades lol. Thanks for inspiring me to check out this sport. Loving it.

    Used to race touring cars both nitro and electric. Worked at the local hobby shop after work just for fun.
    The one question every person behind the car counter and racers hate is “how fast does it go?”.
    Every bubba that can barely walk n chew gun at the same time wants the fastest thing they can break in 5min, then brings it back saying it’s junk, or they want a monster truck that can drag race their buddies street car. Explaining to them that everything is basically faster than they can really drive in it’s element goes over their heads. Hell I still have fun carpet racing $100 spec cars, they are plenty fast for racing indoors. Getting a hand full of good drivers running the same thing is some good times.
    With the lipo batteries and brushless motors the world of R/C is totally different from my racing days!
    Just getting back to my R/C cars I really like the crawlers I saw the trx4 build kit and had to have it. As a kid my family used to trail ride and later raced 4wd, an old Scout II, soon I’ll be making a hard body with a 1/0th scale 3D print of myself as the driver.
    Crawlers are the best for just fooling around out side, no worries of letting kids drive your rig like you do with faster ones.

    I enjoy building for myself and others, Nephews, Brother-in-law, Son, and anyone who wants to be part of the fun. It has been tough lately with the restrictions, but I'm sure we will get our crawling time in soon! If not I will run out of space to store all of the builds due to staying inside and building for so long...I currently have 47 Hobby RC's stored to date. 1-plane, 3-boats, 2-Quad copters, 3-tanks, 2-Bull dozers, 1-articulated front loader, 1-tracked skid loader, 2-drag cars, 4-bashers, 1-quad bike, 1-trike, 2-off road buggies, 1-snow cat, 1-1/6 scale SBR, 2-1/24 scale crawlers, 3-jeeps, 1-half track, 5-Army trucks, 1-military front loader, 1-military road grader, 6-1/10 scale crawlers, 2-desert trucks, 1-drift truck, and that does not include about another 20+ toy grade RC's for the Grand kids and other kids that live near me. I need to get out and follow your lead and start CRAWLING AGAIN !!! It might even save me some money :)

    When I go out with my Everest GEN seven which has been totally modified and modeled right down to the firewood on the rock and camping gear winch off-road lights etc. sound it takes me back to when I lived in Montana and have the real thing. But the difference between this and the real thing is a lot of $$$$$.I try to drive mine in a realistic manner slowly and try not to do the impossible reflecting back on the real thing. you’re absolutely right it gets you out hiking around how did the nature sometimes I bring my lunch with me or some refreshments it’s always quite enjoyable. When at home I like to put it in the shop and get it up on the rock and work on it. Maybe fix something that broke or add something on that I have been thinking about or some other modification. I recently got a axle 1/24 scale jeep wrangler rubicon. A lot of my decision in purchasing this very small micro crawler was from watching your video your review! It has proven to be quite capable and very mobile. Thank you once again for your very informative educationalAnd stimulating videos.

  • @golferchin76

    2 more thing: you get bored running around in circles with drift, buggy, onroad. The last two requires high repairs and parts comsumption. Crawler... you can do it anywhere, backyard, park, even side walk. It goes and moves like a real vehicle.
    The other is that crawlers looks like real vehicles (body, accessories to dress up), they move very similar to real vehicles.
    Yeah, it is therapeutic.

    I've been crawling the Derbyshire Peak District for more than 15 years now. So much fun. Curbar Edge, Black Rocks, Robin Hood's Stride, Stanage Edge etc. I once did a 7 mile trail up and over Kinder Scout (4 batteries). Really confuses people when they see the truck before they see the driver ! My worst crash was a 100m steep downhill cartwheel at Wingather Rocks - my Gmade R1 had no damage at all. I have almost every form of RC - boats, fast cars, bashers, drift cars, quads, planes, fan boats, helicopters and I can honestly say rock crawling a truck you have built is the best of all. Ths satisfaction of beating an impossible rock through skill is immense. Get crawling folks.

Relax when i dont come up the hill even after thousand trys? My last check goes in broken parts? Ha ha ha its like the "sighting" from where you look at this hobby ! I always enjoyed wrenching on my oldtimers, making things and parts out of nothing, welding, soldering, etc... I've had my share of rc expensive kits when I was young (nitro's, bashers, planes and boats). Now I turn 55, and really considering getting back to it as this world has become soo lonely and boring. My only true concern (don't laugh at me) is that people around will see an old fart playing with what they would consider a toy car when in fact It's much more than that and it goes beyond just ''playing'' as well. I'm afraid of looking ridiculous. I know I shouldn't be, but It's all that refrains me... Kids are gone, so is the wife and I've got plenty of time left for me. I know this might sound stupid but It's like it is. Also, where I live, rc crawling is not very known about and finding people to share the hobby (especially adults) is not easy. Our country and culture does not consider childminded adults too much... I never wanted to grow uo, and this has not made my life especially easy I have to say. Very funny but not always easy lol 😁

    Been in the hobby for a bit now, wanted a hobby for the family to interact and have fun together and get exercise so the wife could lose weight without me saying she needed to. The nicest way possible without hurting her feelings. I got in the hobby never planning on spending this kind of money. I know it’s not a lot but I spend minimum of a $1000a month easily and the wife said she doesn’t care(she sees how excited I get) so always working on builds and never post stuff on my channel. You honestly covered ever single good point to make about this beautiful hobby we love so much. I look forward to seeing you and a few other channels daily videos.👍👍👍 absolutely love what you do for our Hobby.

      Virk PB-34 Lots of different options and some of them depend a lot on what your starting point is. What vehicle you bought, high performance how? Speed? Rock Climbing ability? Mud and/or water driving? Trailing? Competition? Informal Fun? Are you buying a Rock Crawler? A Basher? Short Course truck? Drifter? They all have different options and different mods to make them perform better. There is no blanket statement to cover everything.

    I love being able to build a vehicle I could only dream about in a 1:1 version and not having to worry about how I’m gonna get to work on Monday if I wreck it. My crawlers also don’t break before the battery dies like my fast cars do.

    Hi Francis. I have always been into cars and trucks and always wanted to own and build my own tough truck to do real offroading in the boondocks. This hobby has allowed me to do so albeit on a tenth scale both in size and price by not spending for a "full sized toy" that I will have to pay someone to build and set up and for me to drive once a month at most. I really love this hobby because it is a combination of at least 6 diifferent pastimes and activities i have always wanted to do or enjoy doing all rolled into one hobby that is called Scale RC Crawling:
    1. RC kit assembly/building/tuning/upgrading/ set up/testing
    2. Scale modeling/fabrication/detailing/creativity flex points
    3. RC Collecting/unique project builds
    4. Bargain hunting
    5. Going oudoors/roadtrips
    6. Driving/playing/bashing/trailing
    I truly enjoy watching your channel and admire your passion and positivity for the hobby. Keep up the great work and continue to inspire more into the hobby

      So true on the 1:1 trucks. I have a Tacoma and a 4runner and I cringe at paying $10k to mod it and pay someone to install. And then I'll be to scared once a month to damage it on the rocks.

      I bought mine a week ago and completed the build yesterday :) Just a note - the diff spool bearings may be incorrect. This seems to be a common issue with these kits. First crawler and loving it. Got the HW 1080 to set the speed for my kids - awesome ESC.

    want to start crawling. Had rc before, planes and cars. like traxxas. and was thinking about the trx-4 but its hard to chose between the Blazer and the sport, money is no problem and have money for upgrades later :) please help

    • @SebastianLong
      @SebastianLong 4 роки тому +1

      I recommend getting the TRX sport and buying the Blazer body for it. Why you ask, I'll tell you. The sport is simple and less problems will rear their head and you'll have the Blazer you like. I bought the Bronco a while back and I installed spools front and rear and 99.9% of the time only use low range. Now I'm talking about getting the sport to use as my trail crawler. Skip all of that which I've learned and just get the sport. New servo, servo arm, and some body posts to work with the Blazer body.
