If you do not have a drinking package, consider trying the drink of the day, which is a few bucks cheaper than regular alcoholic drinks. Every day they offer a “drink of the day” and make it available at most bars. On a recent cruise, they offered Rum Runner and Goombay Splash and they were both awesome. Also, try the Bionic Bar, which also has cheaper prices and is a different experience.
Great tip, although I'm pretty sure pineapples indicate y'all are swingers so don't put those on or wear them if you don't wanna be hit on or approached by other couples. Lol
My favorite of your recommendations is to talk to crew members. We do that on every cruise, and we've met some really nice people. Every time I cruise my faith in the human race gets a boost. I've spoken with numerous crew members from countries that are supposed to be our adversaries. But it's not people that are adversaries, it's governments. People are people, no matter where they call home. Another tip might be to carry some cash (small bills) to tip porters (you really want your bags to reach the ship, don't you?), shuttle drivers, etc. We also use cash to tip bartenders for our "Diamond Drinks", room service delivery people, entertainers in venues like the Schooner Bar, and for anyone who provides exceptional service (which happens frequently on RCL cruise ships in our experience.) Those tips are ALWAYS in addition to, and not in lieu of, the standard gratuities. Remember - those crew members are working their tailfeathers off to give you the best cruise experience possible.
FLY IN A DAY EARLY!! At the start of our Alaska cruise on July 28 I flew in a day early, fell at the airport, dislocated 2 fingers hit my head, +,+. Eight hours in emergency meant that I would have missed the cruise if it had been that day. It was the next day and I had a great cruise tour.
Oh my goodness, I came across your comment on the cruise tips video. I’m so sorry that happened to you! Plus you get to meet ahead of time some people that will be on your cruise and you can end up meeting a lot of new And interesting people!
The magnet advice is brilliant. Now, let me add to that. I get USB extender cords to connect them together and then hang them from the wall - onto the ceiling - so there are no cords on the floor to trip over. I also purchase a clear - see through - hanging shoe rack - to hang over the bathroom door. The pockets in the plastic wrap - I fill with all sorts of things, so I can immediately see them and get to them quickly. Like meds - lotions - change etc. last thing - I buy small magnetic fans - that are usb charged. I like flowing air in my room and also the sound is comforting. I charge them while I’m out and about and them use them to sleep by. I usually pack two. Also pack poo-poori - they come in small spray bottles. I carry them with me, on and off the ship - no one wants to smell your $hit. Have a great cruise. Get a European adapter- to switch it over to a USA - plug - so you extend your electric choices.
I don't even unpack my over-the-door rack. I simply roll it up and leave it in my luggage! 🧳 As for the magnets... I use all weights/sizes. I've been known to hang my formal clothing and they look like art on display! 🧲
I know don't nobody wanna smell my booboo because I don't neither..poo pouri and somekikd of air freshener is a must especially in those inside cabins 😅
I use all of the suggestions you have, except for the USB cords. When I referred to my organizer, I meant the same thing you do. It's an over the door shoe organizer. I can't visualize what you are saying about the USB cords. Re: adapters... To MAXIMIZE outlets, I carry US AND European adapters cause there's usually one of each in the stateroom. As for the poo-purri, when there are gift bag exchanges during the cruise, and when I give gifts to the ship's crew, again, I give poo-purri, along with any additional cash tips. Also, if I am flying, I give a small gift of appreciation to the flight crew, including the pilots, which includes a small spray bottle of poo-purri. Whenever I give tips, no matter the place (cruising, restaurants, taxis), I always include a two dollar bill. Most people in the States have never seen one, so you can imagine how fascinating they are to others. I sometimes bring $1.00 gold coins, but... They can be heavy. I'm still trying to visualize the hanging USB cord thingy... 🤔🫣🤭🚢🧳🍹💃🏿
Check with hotels in port to include embarkation/debarkation for day passes to use facilities. This can be helpful if you have a long delay for a flight home after a cruise.
I bring magnetic hooks, magnetic clips and a highlighter on every cruise. I would add “Post-It” notes to the list. I can put the note inside my door or on the bathroom mirror for my travel companion when she is sleeping or out of the room.
I order $2.00 bills from my bank for tips! Most people (including Americans) have never seen them, so most people are fascinated by them. I also order $1.00 gold coins, and use those for tips, as well.
I always ask my room attendant for a hot water kettle for my room as I like to brew a 30oz cup of tea every morning. I don’t understand bringing water bottles. I bring a fillable bottle and pour water from a glass into it. The water on the ship is excellent. I also use it for the soda I bring on board.
On every cruise I've been to. I've done #28 every time. I never won any. But I did tell a couple about it on one cruise and they tried and won a couples package XD There's only 1 downside of it. They hold the raffle right when the ship leaves port. So you have to choose between watching the ship leave or possibly winning something.
I love your suggestion of a specialty rest. at lunch. I have booked unlimited dining for an anniversary cruise with my husband. This sounds so much nicer than doing the buffet.

I had a great time in the Imperial lounge for game nights. I have an upcoming cruise on Allure of the Seas. Does Allure of the Seas have the same game nights in any of the lounges? I would just suggest looking at the app just before your cruise because they will post those game nights and the location, if you have free time to explore and look for those locations, I would. Hope this helps!

Just got off wonder, it was amazing! Definitely recommend going to the Jonny rocket’s restaurant- if you have refreshment or deluxe drink package then try the Oreo shake! x
So, if due to medical reasons, one of the room occupants can’t/ doesn’t drink alcohol, can the alcoholic drink package be charged only to the one who does drink? My wife is under doctor’s orders not to drink alcohol due to ongoing medical concerns.
Is it worth it to pack a swim suit for my Anthem of the Seas cruise out of cape liberty in Feb? Wasn't sure if the indoor pool would be open right away or not.
Does anyone have alternatives to Downy wrinkle releaser? We brought it on our last cruise & it did absolutely nothing! It was a useless expense. Since steamers aren’t allowed, is the laundry service the only other alternative?
@@cindy83004 unfortunately that didn’t work either, we also tried spraying the dress, then hanging it in the steam filled bathroom. I don’t know, maybe rayon just doesn’t release wrinkles 🤷🏻♀️
I use Downy wrinkle release even at home. First of all you have to wet the item fairly well. Then pull it from side to side and up and down before you let it dry. It has never failed me
So, I got the dining package and it looks like they will make a reservation for us on the first night. When will I find out which restaurant we'll be at? I want to reserve all my reservations when I get on the ship. Thanks!
Boy that Passport processing time is true! I'm cruising next week on Dec 10th and applied for by daughter's passport September 9th, still don't have it. We have the option to take her birth certificate, Thank goodness.
I applied at the beginning of Sept for mine and still don't have it. Luckily, I don't cruise until May, but it still has me worried. Hope you have a great cruise!
A funny story about the bring a pen. My last Princess Cruise they kept leaving surveys in my room but not leaving a pen. I just happened to have a Sharpie in my medical kit and feel the survey out with that included in the survey that they did not leave a pen. They actually brought back a follow-up survey and still did not leave a pen. Ended up writing 3 notes with sharpie. Never got a pen. Still tipped my room attendent very well. Just funny
Hi Matt, I have been watching your videos, I have a question regarding dinning. This is my first time with RC, do they seat you with other people in the dining area? I have experienced this with Carnival and Norwegian, I would cruise with my friends and they would seat us with others? This time I’m going with 2 adults, myself and my 4 year old. I would like to have a table just for us, since I know my preschooler can be a hand full. Can I make this request by calling or on embarkation day? Thanks ❤
Hi Cynthia! I’ve had the same situation with my two younger kids. We always go to the main dining room almost as soon as we board to request that we be at a table alone. There’s always someone there on embarkation day to field all of the requests they receive….they have accommodated us every time, it seems with relative ease. Hope you have a blast!
If you haven’t sailed yet, you can request a table size in advance. Your travel agent can do it or you can call and ask the phone agent to mark you down for a table for 4 (or however many are in your party). If you’re traveling with people in another room, have their reservation linked to yours for dining and you will automatically be put together at a table (assuming you’re under the max table size).
Just for future reference for people with kids - everyone can be checked in under one guest’s account. My little kids don’t have accounts. But every adult really should have their own account available on their phone for muster drill, at least. People who want to put their phones away on vacation can just do so after the muster drill.
I sort of wonder about the cruise compass tip - now when the paper version is not distributed automatically it seems that the supply of compasses on the blog has dried up. Or am I wrong about this?
When you get back on the ship, they take whatever alcohol you bought in port, tag it with your stateroom #, and deliver it to you the night before disembarkation for you to carry off the ship. You can buy it, you just can't consume it on the ship.
How do you not pay fixed gratuities . I'm Australian and not used to paying tips if I like service I'll pay what I see fit to whom I see fit. Forcing gratuities is a little like stealing
It is your room key card that you can also use as your credit card on the ship. At the end of your trip, everything will get billed to your actual credit card. You can use your sea pass to buy drinks (or use your drink package), and other things while on the ship.
Just a note on tip 34, I tried this on my last cruise on Oasis of the Seas and it did not work. We ended up being woken up by the attendant knocking at our door with the food. Never received a phone call. Maybe we just weren't lucky that time.
Is there a drink you recommend that is really strong just off one cup ?
We cruised last March and spent a lot of time at the bionic bar. Cruising again in March bringing a bunch of different cocktail recipes to try.

So, I got the dining package and it looks like they will make a reservation for us on the first night. When will I find out which restaurant we'll be at? I want to reserve all my reservations when I get on the ship. Thanks!
When is your sailing date?
@@bugwar5545 December 2024
We are booked on Allure next summer. Not seeing where I can reserve a specialty restaurant lunch through the cruise manager online?
I don't think you can do so till after you get on the ship.
@@bugwar5545 they popped up on the cruise planner later. I've got them booked!
Thanks
Thanks for watching!
@@HyphenDude ridiculous how long it takes.
Just funny
I used the elevator and it was kinda faster then stairs lowkey for me
Have used ALL 47 tricks! I don't think of them as tricks, BUT as COMMON SENSE!
Whatever you want to call them, they help!
Can you combine bringing soda and bottles of wine?
Yes
Yes
A lot is made of getting plenty of bottled water - is the tap water in the cabins no good?
Tap water is totally good
Ziplock bags for lose items, wet costumes and for hand washing clothes without getting wet.
And, snacks to take back to your cabin! Cookies, muffins......
I need an extension cord to operate my CPAP machine near my bed. Some cruise lines provide it but some do not. What do I do?
Ask them ahead of your cruise.
If using the app for check in and everything should we each have separate accounts or can we just use the same login info on both phones.
It's worth having separate accounts on each phone for better billing management, especially onboard spending
There are digital cruise compasses available, so we can leverage those
@@RoyalCaribbeanBlog where are they exactly? I couldn’t find them
@@sharonbaldry1455 I did a web search for 'cruise compass' and found a link.
Wait? No beer or alcohol can be brought onboard? But what if i purchase bottles of Tequila in Ensenada?
When you get back on the ship, they take whatever alcohol you bought in port, tag it with your stateroom #, and deliver it to you the night before disembarkation for you to carry off the ship. You can buy it, you just can't consume it on the ship.
When not on a drink package, does asking for a more expensive liquor in your drink incur extra cost above the normal drink cost?
yes
Got the emailed list!!!
Woot!
Matt... in line with the phone on airplane mode.... Smart Watches with data plan should also be put into airplane mode.
The email address you give for the list says it is not valid...is the list on your website?
I thought room service costs an extra gratuity fee? No? Does this not apply to breakfast?
How do you not pay fixed gratuities . I'm Australian and not used to paying tips if I like service I'll pay what I see fit to whom I see fit. Forcing gratuities is a little like stealing

I keep seeing comments about the "Sea Pass". What is that?
It is your room key card that you can also use as your credit card on the ship. At the end of your trip, everything will get billed to your actual credit card. You can use your sea pass to buy drinks (or use your drink package), and other things while on the ship.
Airplane mode is by far the most important tip........
Where exactly are the compass lists?

Would anyone book a room on deck 6 of Wonder of the Seas? Same deck as bar/arcade, slide exit, carousel, hot dog place. Too loud?
Not too loud if you don't plan to sleep at all.
Just a note on tip 34, I tried this on my last cruise on Oasis of the Seas and it did not work. We ended up being woken up by the attendant knocking at our door with the food. Never received a phone call. Maybe we just weren't lucky that time.
That's strange. I swear I've gotten the call every time.
Either way, you got woken up!
@@RoyalCaribbeanBlog True, we did! And the breakfast was great, regardless.
