    The chemistry is actually similar to Robert Smith demonstration of Copper - iron battery. Instead of using powder, he used a copper and iron sheets and formed the oxide layer by charging it. He was trying to show it as an improved Baghdad battery.

      I believe I know why. He was a chemist. He had a battery he was trying to scale, he sold the company , signed an NDA so he could get it into production and surprise, the company he was working with killed the project. Just a theory but anytime that man is quiet on how something works be suspicious, because he is not quiet.

      He had many projects for a company. The only one i remembered that could not disclose the specifics was regarding a credit card size super capacitor.
      As for the Copper-Iron (Baghdad) battery, he showed us it was built and tested it initially, but he didn't show the capacity, power density, or longevity....... I wanted to know if this type of battery was a viable replacement for Lead-acid.

    Hi , I would like to give a useful tip for any future electrical project that you may share on YT .
    when we talk about electricity , we get involved with Volts and Amperage . So people who will watch your video will want to know the result getting out of it .
    If you want to have more subscribers and Likes ( which is your main goal here ) Then you must show not only some volts , but the current that it gives ( Speaking about this battery here ) .
    the best way to do a real nicely presented project , Edit useless time consuming for your viewers like for example 5 mns of mixing something , painting or manipulation the mini mixer to power it , etc etc . I would have solder some wire and clamp off camera and some support for the mixer and motor .
    All this will add a more professional touch to your valuable project . Yes I said VALUABLE project , cause it can really help others to give a try and who knows that people maybe will want you to build some for them and most of all PAY for it .
    OFF topic : I am actually making a small solar project to be used in an Hydroponic lettuce culture . and I don`t want to buy expensive batteries to make experiences .
    So I wanted to build a huge lead acid battery out of scrap ones .I shall reuse the neg plates and convert some of them to pos plates .
    When I say a huge battery I am talking about something around a square meter large by 50 cms high .
    I knew nothing about batteries a month ago and I have learn a lot on videos like yours .
    This off topic was just to tell you how valuable people like you can be .🙂🙂

    You cannot do what you just did if you wanted to secure your invention with a patent. Once you put it out here on UA-cam you gave up your claim to a patent. You have placed it in public the "public domain!" Just a simple demonstration puts it into the public domain and you showed your formula in clear detail and then went on to show how to build it! This is where pride gets you. The bottom line, you blew your chance to make a great amount of money with it. How many other of your inventions have you done this to?

    • @npham54
      @npham54 11 місяців тому +4

      Very true and I can also attest to this truth. The ONLY way you could've protected yourself was to get your battery in patent pending status which is A LOT more inexpensive as it's not actually issued the full patent yet. This allows you to test, produce, and even sell your product in the market for about a year before the patent pending status expires or you file for the actual patent, which costs thousands for just the US alone. Worldwide patent will cost you even way more than that. Because you showed how to make it too, ANYONE can copy and sell this without your permission until you actually have a patent issued and not just patent pending. Once it's been issued, then if anyone tries to sell it any further from that point, you can sue them for patent infringement.

    Do you want to know who actually invented this type of battery? I did, and I documented this back in January 2004! I have been willing to work with this "Joy of Electronics" guy because I think he is a smart guy to invent things I have since I was in my mid teen years. The problem is that I have given him an olive branch more than once and he didn't accept my humble offer. Either way, I'm ok with this. I've invented a few inventions in my lifetime. I'm now 63 in July of this year. The first product I will be offering is what is being called "graphene." It's not what everyone is saying it is. I can process it from a mineral ore more efficiently and very cheaply. If anyone here is interested I will send you a 4 oz. sample for 1/3rd of the present cost that it is presently being charged for in US dollars.

    Early battery ("pile") experimenters naturally tried every possible combination of common materials around them (ESPECIALLY the conductive metals). How do you think electronegativity charts for the elements came about in the first place? The combinations that worked best as batteries or were most economical were naturally chosen for common use, and made famous. But there were so many other combinations that also yielded electricity! They were just not as practical for one reason or another, and eventually "forgotten". Bless your sheltered heart if you actually believe that nobody had ever thought of trying two of the most common metal powders known since antiquity. And it's hilarious (ok, also sad) that so many commenters accept the claim that you could've claimed such obviousness as an invention today.
    Mostly what I notice are many of the common tricks used to get a video noticed on UA-cam - clickbaity title, exaggerated claims, piles of keywords for the search engines (including popular keywords that have nothing to do with the actual video, like "graphene"), and the sly suggestion that curious viewers will be let in on a "secret" for free - sssh! Don't try to profit from this 'new' idea! lololol
    Obviously, that strategy is working for your channel, or the algorithm wouldn't have promoted it. Good thing I can tell UA-cam not to suggest more videos from channels that use lame deceptive tricks to get more views.
    At best, it's still mostly an educational DIY, could be made as part of a science fair project comparing with more common battery chemistries. Maybe kids will learn something, repeating Enlightenment-era experiments in the 21st century.

      @kennedy67951 11 місяців тому

      Using regular table salt wouldn’t have the same destructive outcomes of the Hydroxide he was using though. It would be so much cheaper to use Aluminum over Copper and could be designed and really made anywhere. Like you mentioned earlier, Aluminum Cans could be used. This Battery already exists now. What he has designed is in use now. This is the reason I asked him about this. Thank you for your comment.

    It would work a bit better if you use iron powder and copper hydroxide. Discharge forms iron 3 hydroxide and copper, charge forms copper hydroxide and iron. Electrolyte would be a base. Also mixing graphite into the copper layer would greatly improve current output. About 1.2V per serving ❤

      It would last longer and maybe a small amp increase but too improve volt n amps properly you want too focus more on small/medium size and say make 24 individual ones or so and series 8 together do 3 sets off 8 in series too create 12v then put those 3 sets in parralel and you will triple the amp power you manage too achieve per cell....make a safe box too put them in....this is one way

    Peace be upon you, I am an Arab person and I do not speak the English language well, but I have translated some of your videos, but I have a question that I hope you can answer. We do not have sodium sulfur. Is there another material other than that? I mean, I want to make a battery in my home. I have tin foil, activated carbon, and graphite, but I do not have it. Sodium sulfur. Is there a substance other than that? Thank you
