Manu replaced Stam with Ferdinand. Replaced Beckham with Ronaldo. Replaced Van Nistelroy with Rooney. They've never been able to replace Roy Keane, he was irreplaceable.
Sometimes you dont have to. Players like Keane dont exist anymore in the midfield. All players are specialists now, where Keane could do the dirty work defensively as well as being a presence when utd had the ball. Hes probably the most competitive player ive seen. A real captain.
Forest fan here, the clips do not do his time with us justice. An absolute engine, who was used as a right and left winger, right back, even central defence and of course the finest box to box midfielder i've ever seen at the City Ground. That horrible last year of Cloughie and our relegation, he was the only one who gave absolutely everything, and i mean everything. A lot of our fanbase will never forgive him for the badge kissing though, but we all knew he was too good at that point to not end up at a club winning league titles. A machine. An extinct breed in todays game.
Keane was the best box to box midfielder of his generation. It's that simple. I see people talk of other players but he had most, if not all of them in his pocket. Keane was VERY consistent and if he was playing you were always confident Hope he ends up back at OT oneday.
Massive player for us, hated by rivals but loved by reds. His fear of losing drove him and the team on. Ironically im from Manchester and the wifes from Cork. Heart of a lion. KEANO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One Great player why the negative comments he gave 110 per cent in every game and played with injuries as his team needed him Roy Keane is a honest genuine guy who would be the first person to tell you if he had a bad game and by the way i am a Leeds United Fan not enough genuine players around like him any more
Roy Keane had pride and passion and was the most single minded winner of a footballer. Absolutely brilliant and nobody else came close to his energy and desire. Fantastic leader. Fantastic player. Earned every penny he was paid.
Keane was the most successful Irish player by far captain of one of the best Man U teams ever was a amassive part in us winning the treble, for The best Irish player ever as George played for Northern Ireland and really just wasted his potential Keane was consistently great
A Rolls Royce engine in his chest, the temperature gauge always in the red and a man that could dominate players better than himself. That's why he was inspiring, because he made others believe they could emulate him. Loved watching him as a child, still do as an adult. There's only one Keano.
Excellent tribute. Feared greatly for his leadership and footballing ability. Roy Keane is the greatest premier league midfielder of his generation and one of the greatest captains of all time in any decade. A leader who would rather die than lose or not give 100%. It's that simple. Its hardwired into him. Great role model for those who want to lead and achieve their dreams.
My favourite United player ever by a mile. Turin 1999 was the most influential performance by a single player in any Champions League game. Heart of a lion - and the touch of an artist. This is a brilliant tribute to a brilliant player.
My favourite player of all time. The driving force behind Utd's most successful period ever. Such determination, will to succeed (and hatred of losing), an untiring engine, Fergie's General on the pitch, inspiring, a born winner and a proper hard bastard! I honestly believe he put the fear of God in other players - both Utd and their opponents! This man is a force of nature. And let's not forget how good a footballer he was. He could play anywhere really, he could tackle, great passing (short and long), always playing forwards, box-to-box, a good shot on him, heading, he had two feet, could read the game well going forwards and defensively. Superb! Absolutely superb! Oh how I wish we still had Roy Keane now. He'd put the likes of Pogba, Lukaku et al firmly in their place.
I am Scottish and I have to admit what a fantastic player he could challenge and pass a ball like very few other players.I also like he doesn’t give a crap about what anyone else thinks of his opinion.True Irish.☘️
we will never see Roy Keane's kind ever again the Man gave everything on the Pitch he had that never say die attitude and that hunger to Win,he really was the greatest
The most honest top player and leader in the game of football . I hope that some day Sir Alex Ferguson will give the credit to Roy Keane that that he rightfully earned.
He is Badass! aggressive player ever. A Monster who ever played for Manchester United. The 1 of best player ever in Red Devils History. I love him. its inspired me to played football everyday. Miss you KING, Roy Keane 💯
The young Roy Keane, although less disciplined than his later years, was a phenomenon. Everywhere on the pitch. Fearless, unstoppable commitment. Doubt there will ever be another like him.
great tribute video to really show what roy was all about.. he had it all.. absolute beast on the pitch.. fantastic passing range and very attacking minded.. everything done sharp.. no hesitation.. I don't think we will ever see the likes of him again legend
When he turned into RoboCaptain in 1998, with the shaved head and no ounce of fat on him, he was unstoppable. This is a era where he got looked over for Player of the Year by David fucking Ginola. Keano should have been one of the forerunners for the World Player of the Year. He carried the side through so many of those games that year.
the only people who ever rated roy keane were fergie and his team mates lol, same with scholes really, he went well under the radar until he retired, now hes seen worldwide as one of the best midfielders ever
Really? He was offered a contract by Real Madrid when he left Man. United. He was already 34 years old by then!! Bayern and many other clubs were after him when he was at United too.
This is the only UA-cam video I've seen that has, shown some of Keane's many talents, you simply can't buy this, your born with it. Thank you Keano 🔴 🇮🇪 🙏🏼
I wouldn't say he wasn't particularly great in a specific area. He was great defensively, both in terms in tackling, marking and breaking up play in general, and his passing game was very, very good. He was rather good from range and his football brain and mentality was virtually unparalleled.
they know shot about football, actually he's the greatest, and i seen maradona, messi, ronaldo, he's the best, he played with his heart, the others plays for money
The team this man captained won the treble, the greatest achievement in English premiership history. The Irish team that had no business being in the World Cup in 2002 beat out Netherlands and Portugal to Qualify, God only knows what they would've done with him in the team during the tournament. At his peak all things considered, I think that no one has been his equal as a complete player. On and off the pitch the game is played in all facets of life. I get a lot of stick for saying it, but in my humble opinion... at his peak no one in English Prem history matches Keane. My personal GOAT
Fucking loved him as a player and could do no wrong when he came to manage is at Sunderland. Fucking devastated when he left, and we never really recovered
Roy keane made this American love a d learn what the fuss was about in europe over football, and how football was meant to be played . An Irish warrior
A lot of football fans sees Keane as a brutal defender, and yes he did end a guys career with a horror tackle, but he only got 0.23 yellow card per 90 minutes - Fabregas got 0.31 yellow cards per 90 minutes ! When i watch clips of Keane he was a master of intelligent passes, and always passing FORWARD not backwards to pressure the opposing team. Even Rooney said that Keane was the best passer he has played with. He almost never gave the ball away - In my opinion Keane was better than Gerrard, lampard, scholes
I'm proud to say that as a young lad growing up Keano was my favourite player... I used to imagine being him on the pitch... And now we have Pogba as our midfield general wtf man
It's hard to do highlights, because it doesn't capture him constantly being in the right position, he was constantly driving the team on, rarely ever lost the ball, just kept ball moving in a simple way, always composes control, made amazing tackles and got some vital goals and assists, he gave other players around him confidence by being intimidating to play against, he worked harder than everyone else on the pitch and captained probably the best team to ever play in the UK, and even helped create continued success with Ronaldo and Rooney after he left as an early influence for both players. Best Irish player ever produced probably through his own inner drive not to be average.
Anyone who denounces keanos footballing ability is clearly zdevoid of football inteligence. Keane was a machine, talismanic, he dominated the park for man utd for a decade. Hes up there with lothar and beckenbauer. The engine the driver the cog turner the complete automobile his team mates were the highlight reel but he owned the motion picture. Hes up there even with the likes of robin hood and william wallace. I mean fancy writing to decades of clubs, only 2 got back to him with" if your good enough will find you".
Im a forest fan and to think he was probably my 6 favourite player of his forest era, to be honest they were all incredibly talented in the 90s. But it was for man utd keano became my hero. Such an underatted technical player. Certainly for me an absolute legend. Kante is probably the closest thing the prem has now, but i cant help but think not as much play goes channels through kante as it did keane. Be interested to see keanes individual possesion stats compared to other players of his time i bet viera only came close to him.
I would love to know has the real R.K. accually seen this. Pity the Kant cant see this on twitter or something. What a beloved man in the world. Máith thú a dhuine uasail..!!
videofletcher i agree mate....im not sure if im getting an old bollocker but i seem to look back at these early premier years with fondness...i find the football today almost sanitised with characterless foreighners
Keano would have been priced at €100m-120m in today's game with his overall quality. It will take a very long time to have a player appear in the footballing scene, in his position, with all those qualities including that steel ironed will mentality.
one of the most underrated passers of a ball, never gave it away.
yea loved his assist to batistuta for his goal in UCL 2000 :p
THE Paul Parker?
Manu replaced Stam with Ferdinand.
Replaced Beckham with Ronaldo.
Replaced Van Nistelroy with Rooney.
They've never been able to replace Roy Keane, he was irreplaceable.
Tbh after keane era, i think fletcher can replace him as a good dmc, guys is so underrated i think
Fletcher aint fit to lace his boots.
First of all. NEVER SAY MANU!!!!
Ricky Kurnia lol
Sometimes you dont have to. Players like Keane dont exist anymore in the midfield. All players are specialists now, where Keane could do the dirty work defensively as well as being a presence when utd had the ball. Hes probably the most competitive player ive seen. A real captain.

By the way, one of the most underrated headers of a ball i've ever seen too! That goal for us against Spurs at White Hart Lane!
gilmour81 what do you mean badge kissing
gilmour81 and
Kante does have sparks of him except he's not as aggressive and he doesn't play in multiple positions
Well said
Keane was the best box to box midfielder of his generation. It's that simple. I see people talk of other players but he had most, if not all of them in his pocket. Keane was VERY consistent and if he was playing you were always confident Hope he ends up back at OT oneday.

MISS U SO MUCH KEANO
THE GREATEST CAPTAIN UNITED HISTORY
One Great player why the negative comments he gave 110 per cent in every game and played with injuries as his team needed him Roy Keane is a honest genuine guy who would be the first person to tell you if he had a bad game and by the way i am a Leeds United Fan not enough genuine players around like him any more
I'm a leeds fan and I love keane as well.but sports videos and music don't mix......dreadful video.
He gave 100%, anything else was impossible.
"He was just doin his job"...
What about from 1 to 99% ?? If you are gonna try and be a smart arse make sure you try a little harder. Give it a 100%
Off the top of my head - only 3 RoI world class players - Brady,McGrath and Keane -Liam never got an international chance to shine.
Roy Keane had pride and passion and was the most single minded winner of a footballer. Absolutely brilliant and nobody else came close to his energy and desire. Fantastic leader. Fantastic player. Earned every penny he was paid.
Love seeing the Nottingham Forest footage. It was evident then that he had an amazing all round game, and plenty of high quality goals.
The best Irish footballer of all time.
@Paul Noonan Stapleton, Rice,(Pat), Aldridge?
Noonan go way would ya! All great players, but not like Keane.
Keane was the most successful Irish player by far captain of one of the best Man U teams ever was a amassive part in us winning the treble, for The best Irish player ever as George played for Northern Ireland and really just wasted his potential Keane was consistently great
@Paul Noonan Norman Fuckin Whiteside?
When the prick turned up

One of the most intense, focused players I've ever seen
Best central midfielder there's been in the premier league Era in my opinion.
we will never see Roy Keane's kind ever again the Man gave everything on the Pitch he had that never say die attitude and that hunger to Win,he really was the greatest
What a player. Talent, drive and determination. Never shat a challenge or shirked a responsibility. Class.
Roy Keane was a different kind of breed.
i am an Arsenal fan until I die. but this guy, he is the greatest leader i've ever know.
Respect bro

Heart of a lion. True warrior on and off the pitch.
The most honest top player and leader in the game of football . I hope that some day Sir Alex Ferguson will give the credit to Roy Keane that that he rightfully earned.
Couldn't agree more epic
the best footballer to ever step foot in the prem. I am sick of kids who missed him doubting his world class talents.
He is Badass! aggressive player ever. A Monster who ever played for Manchester United. The 1 of best player ever in Red Devils History. I love him. its inspired me to played football everyday. Miss you KING, Roy Keane 💯

Song fits in perfectly with his personality. Amazing video. Amazing
Imagine having to play against a midfield of Keane, Scholes, Beckham and Giggs, that was some team
Luv him (from Arsenal fan!)
What a player

Roy Keane is the John Wick of football!
Most badass football player I've ever seen.
This is the only UA-cam video I've seen that has, shown some of Keane's many talents, you simply can't buy this, your born with it. Thank you Keano 🔴 🇮🇪 🙏🏼
Yes absolute brilliance of the man
Very well made. 👍
The Greatest Roy Keane Tribute Ever Made. For anyone who says this man was just a tackler? honestly open your eyes!
What kind of a player was he
I wouldn't say he wasn't particularly great in a specific area. He was great defensively, both in terms in tackling, marking and breaking up play in general, and his passing game was very, very good. He was rather good from range and his football brain and mentality was virtually unparalleled.
Keepitonthedeck he is my first cousin

Warrior mentality ⚽️💪🧠
The best tribute video iv seen do far thers only one keano
Keane was so good that you didn’t notice him half the time. Then when he was brilliant, he was all you noticed.

That pass @ 15:24 took everyone out. Ref, cameraman, crowd...
Really? The camera followed the pass.
CTID this guy was a player when men where men great leader very jealous as a city fan but great to watch.........

WHAT A PLAYER!! No way would that Man United team have been as successful without him in the middle of the park.
What a player he was. Underrated.

1 of the best players to ever grace the premiership always gave 110% and a joy to watch a game that keane was playing in.
Man Utd’s most important player in our most successful period! Was basically manager according to other players they all loved him!
Thanks for all the years Roy, best player to ever captain United.. still gutted your not playing for us anymore..legend!!
Who’d ever thought that short Irish lad would end up becoming THE Manchester United Captain amongst Captain’s.
As an Ipswich fan I was so gutted it didn't work out for him.
The best tribute you can give roy keane is that he is a proper irish man
Christ that song at the start couldn't end quick enough
Roy Keane an Irish legend
How did I never hear this Keano song before this ?
I'm proud to say that as a young lad growing up Keano was my favourite player... I used to imagine being him on the pitch... And now we have Pogba as our midfield general wtf man
Keane and Gascogne are the best British central midfielders in my life time and I'm 35
Only one of those is British.

funnily enough, one of the reasons keane was dumped by fergie was for publically saying basically this
They don't make players like him anymore. Cap ♥️
when men were men no cry babies tough as nails bring them back please
I'm an Ice Hockey Player. He's the reason I wear Number 6. Early Days.
Good video

Takes a lot for a Belfast Boy to say a Cork Fella is the best . But look at that for flat out skills commitment determination. Like Zidane with ballax
Super roy keane

Gerrard and Lampard, pmsl, Keane and Viera ran the league.
