Lordy, the way he delivered that Irish reminded me of the backwards talking scenes in Twin Peaks. His Dia Duit was pretty good though
I love how well they picked up on his comedy and their own comedic delivery was pitch perfect, with perfect timing. Tone, a very difficult thing to grasp, they all had the same comedic tone. Perfection!

As an Irishman I can tell you that we show affection & love for each other by ripping the piss out of each other and the more you do it the deeper the love. Irishmen don't give or take compliments. If you do it means you're gay. We don't like people losing the run of themselves so we are always undermining each other. God I love this country. 🤩😍🤩

I think he's home cause she's not sparring his feelings whatsoever. My grandma told me that my Irish grandfather with flaming red hair (otherwise known as her husband) was told my a distant relative came to see him when he was a little boy, "oh he has red hair, what a shame. A girl with red hair, that's a beautiful girl but a boy, they're never good looking." I was about ten when grandma told me this and I thought maybe she threw in the girl being pretty with red hair because, hello, I'm standing right here.

There are a few gaelic languages, so Irish people refer to their language as just 'Irish'.
We call it Irish, but in the language itself, it’s “gaelige” (pronounced GAIL-guh). It’s an official language here, meaning (as he says) road signs, government publications, a state-run music and tv station, etc. are all available “as gaelige”. But it’s very much on life support. "Gaeilge" or "Gaolainn" is the Irish term for the Irish language. Gael is an older term for an Irish person, and Gaelach would be the adjectival version of it. The name "Ireland" and "Irish" comes from our country's name "Éire" which was bastardised and mispronounced as Eyer by the British and 'land' suffixed to it. So we call the Irish language Irish when speaking English. Scottish people's language is "Gáidhlig" - I haven't got the backwards fada on hand sorry :)
