its because 99% of his singing is very loud and high range, he doesn't need to do that on every song

    • @whatthell
      @whatthell 5 років тому +6

@@billliberati9840 It's not 99% first of all and having high range does not equal being loud. Check your ear first.

@@billliberati9840 He does not need that every song and as you can see in this video and other songs like Akkyuum there are plenty of the songs he does not go high as much.

    • @whatthell
      @whatthell 5 років тому +2

@@billliberati9840 You'd at least agree that he has control on his range right? Not just high range. He knows his voice well and how to control it and that's what he makes him a great technician, not his range. There are people with more octaves but I think some of the people especially his hard core fans think it's what makes him great. Especially them saying him hitting D8 constantly makes me annoyed. Hitting high notes does not define great singers. It's overall techniques that define great singers with passion.

Lauren, thank you for reacting to Dimash. His voice is stunning and his stage presence is impressive. He is from Kazakhstan and only a week to learn different languages during this competition. His pronunciation may not have been 💯 for the languages that aren’t his mother tongue, but he slayed us with emotion each time. Also, Dimash started training at 5 years old and sang soprano with the girls many times. He’s been blessed to hold on to the high range thru his adult years. Dimash’s vocal range can be heard best in “Opera 2” from The Singer. My favorite performances are SOS and Unforgettable Day (he wrote at the age of 19) More Dimash please. 🙏🏼

Oh, I don't think I overlook anything about The Master Dimash, he is handsome with hypnotizing eyes, uniquely uses his entire frame and arms for expression, has so much emotion that it seems to pour out of his being, his wardrobe whether it is cultural or just glittering jackets, his humble manor, the staging, the chorus, the orchestra (mainly Igor at the piano), and the voice...that voice of a whisper, the voice of romance, the voice of power and the highs he can reach with such amazing breath control is all unique. Then to read or listen to any interview and see what a truly loving family man and proud citizen he is, is just icing on a wonderful piece of cake. Now, as for you Ms. Lauren...I have seen most of Dimash's performance over and over and over, and, once live in Brooklyn, NY, and I am sure the emotion in this performance made YOUR eyes get quite watery...hmmm, Dimach definitely Dimashified YOU.

This is one of his best songs, IMHO, one of the most beautiful songs ever. So emotional, so moving...if you are not moved to tears, you're not human. He learned this song in a week, doesn't speak Mandarin, and was so concerned about his pronunciation and how the audience will perceive his performance. He was so spot on with the dialect, that Chinese listeners forgot he doesn't speak Mandarin. It had the audience in tears, and even the other competitors in the green room. He went on to win best foreign singer for it in HK later that year for this song.
This is one of the favorite songs of his Dears. And it's astonishing to watch them singing in Mandarin at his concerts all around the world, where the Dears aren't Chinese! They sing in Russian, Italian, French, Kazakh, English, etc. That's fan dedication!

Hi Louren, the name of the song is Autumn Strong there is another video out called THE STORY BEHIND AUTUMN STRONG this song was based on a true story Dimash leaned chinese in a week in order to sing this song. It was about a Japanese actress Yoshiko Yamaguchi who was born in china who changed her name to chinese to hide her identity during ww2 the chinese people loved her she became a famous actress. After ww2 her identity was exposed and those that once loved her turned against her and she was deported to japan never seeing china again. The video edited by Gloria Wu its a real sad song when you see the video it brings so much more to this song

Lauren, I concur with your assessments and comments. Like you, I, too, got emotional, even if I've watched this video innumerable times. -- You maybe don't know the story, but if you do, ignore all what I write next. This song (translated into Chinese) is originally a Japanese song, by Koji Tamaki. It is the farewell words of Yoshiko Panaguchi, a Japanese actress who made her career in China under the name of Li Xiang Lan. She was extremely popular in China, the golden girl of the Chinese pre-war theatrical world. After the war, when it was found out that she was Japanese, she was banished and deported to Japan. Her one-time applauding audiences ceased to exist. The lyrics of the song are the farewells of Li and her male friend, (maybe husband), and that's what makes the song so impressive, and tear-welling. They never met again. Yoshiko became finally the Japanese Minister of Culture and paid an official visit to China. But she was unable to meet him again. He had been executed by the Chinese regime, for his having "fraternised with the enemy." To-day's Chinese public is unaware of the story, so they sing along with this beautiful love song.

In my opinion, Late Autumn is his best ballad with Sinful Passion at Sochi. I agree with your analysis, I have seen many artists with just a few techniques and still killed it cause it came from the heart and soul.

Greetings of Peace Dimash…! And to all the personnel’s who worked with you, and all others who did the translation, produced videos and uploaded it on line. My heartfelt gratitude to the reactors worldwide for your great help and services, so that artists can improve and or develop their talents and gifts at their best in order to serve better the listening public.
I still browse the music videos of Dimash from time to time to see what still store in there. I’m just wondering how much effort and strength you have invested into it and to reach such a powerful voice and the many other talents that you have. Indeed it is really a great work. How you were able to develop such a heights of your talents is really admirable and worth learning. And it is much more beautiful because you sing it by heart, naturally and at your heart’s content with joyful disposition.
The discipline, courage, dedication and high ideals in pursuing your singing career to the best of your ability the best you can is worth imitating not only in our individual professional fields but also in living our day to day life. Hope your listeners around the world especially the young will learn something from your optimistic views in pursuing your career, your persistency, courage, creativity and perseverance. Your labors are now indeed bearing fruits in abundance. And so my heartfelt congratulations to you, to your family and all others who supported you all the way through as a musician. For me as a listener it counts a lot the personal disposition of the singer and the content of its music.
My other concern whenever I listen to music is that, I usually ask: WHAT MESSAGE THIS MUSIC BRINGS ..? TO THE WORLD..? TO PEOPLE..?
Although all your music are very good, full of content and meaning but I like most this music, because for me it speaks a message of truth, values and realities of human life. I feel that, it is not just enough to give my thumbs up to like this music, but I’m deeply moved to share something more about the richness and deeper meaning of it.
With due respect to the composers, writers and singers of these music for whatever their purpose and intention would be, will always take precedence. The thoughts that I will be sharing below about these music is only the fruits of my personal reflections based on the things that I highly valued and on how I perceived it myself and the message of this song that reaches out to me.
The power and beauty of his voice is so incredible. The fact that he is able to sing his music with ease and comfort even in a very high notes and or in lowest notes in different languages and in various voices are really amazing. But some others too, cannot handle and cannot even believe the power, the strength and the heights of his voice…and they wonder and said oooh… is Dimash human..?
I think It’s just a natural reaction that people wonder and probably surprise by it or cannot believed it at all, it’s because it is beyond human expectation. But I believed and are convinced that Dimash 20 year’s cultivation of his voice and talents is no tricks and no magic at all; though he is really gifted but his hard work and years of practice and experiences proves it to us and to the world … that indeed it is possible.
For all those who read these reflections and commentaries of mine about this piece of music mostly performed by Dimash. If you think it is helpful for you, for your family and friends you can share it to them as you please, and I do really appreciate it. Or maybe you might have a different reflection experience of this music than mine; you can always revisit this music or other music of Dimash on line. Your own personal comments and critics to this commentary and reflection of mine is very much welcome and highly appreciated too.
    Song of Dimash “AUTUMN STRONG”
(Ester Rabi’s Commentary & Reflection on this song: I like this music because it reminds me to be grateful, to protect, respect, appreciate the unique Foreign Services of people across cultures and how it enrich each other’s cultures)
Any foreigner who contributed their great services and good things in other countries should be acknowledged and deserve honor and respect. If ever they violated some rules of that country, or make some offenses or rather misbehave sometimes, probably some legal investigation will be done by the legal authorities to clarify things and settle the matters properly and justly in a good manner.
We should not be rush to go into judgment without any lawful proceedings. If the case is great and they are found guilty some disciplinary actions will be taken soon for correctional
reasons. But if the case and issues is just a minor and little thing, why we should be harsh to them..? Could we not give them some other chances…? It does not mean that we should always tolerate all the time the misbehavior but rather we should remember that all of us are not perfect as well, all the time; we commit mistakes every now and then. Remember the Golden Rule…
I believed that it is not also easy for foreigners all the way through, living, working and serving in other countries where everything are new to them they time to adjust themselves, I supposed they also try their best to do good and give their utmost quality service to the place where they are. Indeed we should be grateful to them for whatever good contribution they have to the society. I believed that peoples will not resists to change when we show them our love and concerns and leads them towards goodness and truth without being harsh to them, this is the real facts and irony of it, that the more we are cruel or harsh to people seems the more they are resistance to change.
Many times because of human weakness, even if the person just commit a little bit of offense seems we forgot everything good they have done, and we just see and focus only and
overpower by the little mistake that they did. If we let anger prevail in our hearts surely we become blinded to see the good deeds in people. And if this behaviors continues to settle in our hearts how painful it is, we cause in other people’s hearts especially to the foreigners.
Once again, thank you for your music and service to us. Rest assured of my support with you. God Bless..!.
    With Gratitude, Ester Rabi, Philippines

The most incredible thing about this performance is that he learned the entire song in ONE WEEK. He spoke no Mandarin, and had to learn the song phonetically to be able to sing it as a "thank you" to the Chinese fans that supported him through the competition being an outsider.
Definitely check out Sinful Passion to get a better showing of his super human abilities.

I think a lot of people forget that you are an opera singer. From your background, I think you calling him a counter tenor totally makes sense. He fits in the description. I think those people might associate the term countertenor as someone who sings with falsetto.

I personally don't think we can define him as one voice type, but I just wanted to point out that she's an opera singer and in the opera world, it's natural to assume Dimash is a counter tenor because of his insanely high range. Baritones in the opera don't sing above A4 and even tenors don't sing (can't sing) above C5. I think there are only a few males like Pavarotti can pull it off since they have to that with a pure chest voice.

Appreciate that you were aware enough to allow the song to play rather than stop and interject your wisdom into it. Not that that is wrong in and of itself but the song has such emotion that you did it right in my estimation to allow it to play out before you stepped in. Nice job. I have heard a lot of voice teachers/ coaches say he is a tenor, counter tenor, baritone and others. The thing is he sings in so many places that I don't know if he would pinpoint himself into any one spot. I think he is growing even before our eyes. He is still practicing his breathing techniques, his musical education and at one time he wasn't even a 6 octave and now he is confirmed as a 6 octave 2 semi tones. Some say he has not done his best and I tend to agree. He is not a guy to let moss grow under his feet. 2 languages fluently, 2 more he is working on and 13 he sings in. Unusual you might say. He sings opera, popera, pop, rock, rap, traditional, you throw it at him and he comes out belting..... I enjoyed your reaction and look forward to more.

PLEASE react to all singer 2017 performances and Dimash my heart will go on Hainan international film festival 2018 and times when Dimash had fun with his voice and his highest note so far (only person to do it so far) a D8 for 5 seconds during Dimash unforgettable day gakku concert. It happens close to the end while on his knees. He starts doing high notes than he gets to the D8 for the 5 seconds. It is shown in the times Dimash had fun with his voice as proof to the non believers that it is D8.

Awesome reaction! I could tell Dimash was moving you, as your eyes watered up a little bit. Your first impression that Dimash is a counter-tenor is an accurate one. However, his baritone range is just as impressive. I encourage you to listen to him sing Sinful Passion, and Love of Tired Swans to realize that his baritone range is just as good as his tenor range. Not many singers have a C2-D8 vocal range, and even fewer are able to master each octave with such precision and ease as Dimash can. He is truly a one-of-a-kind artist...

  • @sliderjock8121

So happy you did another reaction to him, Lauren--got ya, didn't he? Well, you're not alone. Now, next step in becoming totally "Dimashified", in my opinion: "The Love of Tired Swans" at the Kremlin, by Russian iconic composer/arranger Igor Krutoy (whom you'll see accompanying him on piano, and be sure to get the one with English subtitles, so the lyrics can crack your heart wide open!) It'll be recognizable by the huge screen behind the stage with breathtaking film of swans during the song. This is where you'll be introduced to his startling baritone-register resonance (at least, in the beginning), which you REALLY haven't heard, yet. It will offer you an opportunity to dissect his flawless transitions and timbre changes. (Have a towel around your shoulders, just in case he opens up the "waterworks" all the way, to dab at the mascara, as it starts streaming down.) Just love your insight into the human voice! Counting the hours!

I agree that it is how he uses his voice. Dimash would not have used the tag 6 octave man. He won’t even discuss his range saying it is unimportant. That it is the music and if those listening to it like it. I am guessing they(tv producers) wanted a hook and edited his performances to only show off the highest part of his range. Which is very disappointing. Late Autumn is my favourite song from the singer. It just touched me emotionally. Closely followed by SOS, his 2 Kazakh songs and Daybreak. I enjoyed all of his performances and loved the playful side he showed in Opera 2 and Uptown Funk. He was 22 in the singer and it was nice to see him acting his age a bit.
He is exceptional and seeing songs like mademoiselle Hyde now shows just how far he has come. And he was amazing before. Now though it feels like he is singing more what he loves rather than just to make people happy. I love seeing that. Looking forward to seeing how he changes in the next 5 or 10 years. Something tells me it will be an amazing journey. I am glad you chose to share your knowledge with us. 😊
