Someone wise once said, first a man makes his tools. Then tools make the man...
Business is no different. Of course, there are first principles and mindsets that you need as a FOUNDATION for business success, but your tools can amplify and leverage your strengths for true growth and scale.
I'm showing you today 5 different apps that I'm super excited about. They will help you with connecting with your community, analyzing your data, and getting smarter.

Underdogs. Hit me up with OTHER software tools you want me to look up.
Showpad (similar to Postwire) for content sharing, please! +1 for circle. so
I really like tryshift.com/ is an aggregator of web apps that looks like a dashboard, where I use to get all my apps together like multiple emails, WhatsApp web, Harvest, Evernote, Zoom, etc.
The very best team/project management tool I have seen is SamePage.io. The only thing it doesn't do is walk (yet) while remaining very simple to use.
We're building thoughtflow.io - Addresses usecases of both Miro and Notion.
Notion.so reminds me of Coda.io except I can plug all my google docs and triggers into Coda, so I'll keep abusing it. --and now seeing that you mention it later.
Dude,
Just by watching this video you made me realise the Wordpress theme I bought to launch my new brand it’s too complicated and I would rather use something better and easier to use! Thanks bro! And I’ll send a product out to you when I’m ready to launch in the US!) x
Very informative. Also very refreshing to see you talk about something that isn't about $$. Keep it up
Yo Noah. Video, lighting and framing is ON POINT! Looks good man. Def. upped your game 👍
Thanks Matt. Whole teams been working hard on making more entertaining content for you sexy people :)
Great tips as usual! First and last one especially!
Thanks sharing this, Noah. Just want I needed to listen to today. 😁
just watching it again, stream yard seems to be awesome too!! Also Miro, seems to be cooler even with their not so cool tagline like you said ahhaha
Thanks Noah for this very insightful video.
Great tools, thanks for sharing 👊
Great value. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much bud! I was just asking this questions last week lol
Happy to help :)
Could you do a video that breaks down the checklist your video team uses for these videos? You showed a screenshot of part of that checklist in this video, and I’d love to see the rest of it.
Stream yard looks has improve ! Thanks for bring it back to me
You’re very sharp dude. 👍
Thanks and I found this information very helpful
I'm a big fan of Airtable. Great way to manage projects and communications. Plus it works well with Zapier and Google.
Nice!
My iron and ironing board are crying watching your shirt😅
Great suggestions. Ill continue to explore to see where they all fit in...
Nice :)
Awesome list
The power of Notion is that you can emulate other apps for 4 USD per month, for example, I've created an entire basecamp and with better function for my company inside of notion.
Only feature missing is the "campfire" ( chat ) but for that you have slack, discord, or even mentions inside of notion
How have you handled the chat
@carlos i am curious to know how you have emulated basecamp inside notion.
@@noahkagan We use the comment feature if you highlight a message you can add a comment to that message (kinda like google docs) tag people, and “resolve” it once the task is completed, I run a marketing agency and found that the comment feature is more than enough to work on projects and collaborate.
But internally we use Discord.
I’m looking forward for the API so we can automate a couple of tasks, but you can find some crazy people here on youtube that build functions that are crazy! we keep it simple haha
@@user-yb9dl6ok9r To its core Basecamp is
A Chat ( Campfire ) -> A Missing feature in notion
A Messageboard ( You can create a message board like Basecamp using pages // Basecamp is pages) + Comments
To-dos -> you can create to-dos way more powerful than Basecamp can inside of notion
Calendar -> You have calendars inside of notion
“Media folder” - You can create that inside of notion
And an email forwarder folder. Currently, you can’t but once they create the API, it’s something I’m sure you can easily set that up.
@Carlos - Interesting, so
essentially you are using pages to recreate the threads. Thanks for sharing. I will probably have to look at notion again.
Thank you!!
Spot-on!
good one Noah
Awesome video, thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
nice Rocketbook!

Really tried to like Notion too - just couldn't do it. I'm still trying to find the right project management software to scale my business. Leaning towards ClickUp though!
We use Daylite. It’s mac-only and has helped me grow my company by keeping everyone and every project synced.
Completely agree about notion its a mess to do even simple things
Thank you
No doubt Notion is here due to its popularity, and I do have to agree that it's not as simple as it is sexy. Using it is nice, but I still find it a nice to have rather than a must-have.
Love how real he is about his opinions. Money bring that freedom of speech. The other guy will just promote everything
Authenticity :)
I love Stream Yard!
Heck yeah
killer recommendations! (Y)
I kicked the tires on Notion for about a week and when more time is sunk into tinkering and tweaking than actually getting shit done it's time to shelve it. It conjured up memories of using TweakUI on Windows XP 2 decades ago (and I just dated myself).
Further, I think it is the height of arrogance for ventures like Notion or the other hot new kid on the note-taking block, Roam, to believe they're impervious to the same hype cycle of Evernote and everything else whose day has come and gone. I gawk at their VC parties while entering a note in notational velocity (nvALT, actually) to remind myself to never act that way.
nice video
Sometimes my best tool is just PEN AND PAPER. Allows me to empty my mind and see everything on one page. :)
True but sad brother , these companies need us students to learn these , they aren't that bad tbh even I'm just getting started
This is amazing!!!! ☺
Glad you like it :)
@@noahkagan you're amazing.. I'm into dance choreography . Its really helpful.. I would love to collaborate with you.. Love from India
Zapier - automate everything 🥂
Looking for something I could run a cleaning and handyman service business together!!
the circle isn't exactly like tribe that you guys brought us on Appsumo? Why circle is better?
Not saying better. Different but I’m a fan of community software for the future
Miro is super tool. I suggest you too.
Streamyard in appsumo soon !
Notion has the potential and great for certain things but the basic stuff feels klunky. Would love to love it but get the basics right. Cut n paste is from like 1964 and drives me nuts. People are making some great looking templates on it but probably need a to do list to build a list. Counter productive.
Circle.so has added membership integration: community.circle.so/c/product-updates/integrate-your-community-with-memberstack-or-memberspace
Noah can you tell me how to find do lead generation.
Hey Noah, it has been 15 months since you put this video out. You should do an updated video!
Good idea.
you need a software tool that irons your SHIRT
LOVE THIS! However Streamyard is just not worth it. EVERYTHING it does can be done for free and easily.
Completely agree 5:03
This has nothing to do with this content but I just want to take 2 seconds to draw attention to the very down to earth thumbnail this video has.
I was just scrolling youtube and realized that every video from other creators in my feed had thumbnails where they look confused or surprised or like they are needing to go to the bathroom. Lol.
Thank sweet baby Jesus for normal thumbnails. Lol 😆 🤣
cool to hear about circle.so - FB groups are terrible.
Really excited about it :)
Check out Google Jamboard. It is a collaborative whiteboard with sticky notes.
What have you used it for?
Sounds like a soon-to-be-canceled product LOL. Remember Google's 3D chatroom? Yeah, that was canceled too.
We use it to brainstorm. Like other Google products you can have multiple editors. Has post it notes, text, shapes etc. The paid version allows you to display on a smart board for classroom settings.
can you check out and review taskade too?
I wouldn't worry about sticking with an old solution that works, that's called maturity.
Touche
I learned about notions last week, i downloaded it, hated it, deleted it
I feel the same way about notion. It is sloooooooow (compared to say, something like bear)
You like bear too?
@@noahkagan yeah so much faster
Noah, check out mightynetworks.com instead of circle.so - they have membership included
Thanks!
Another option instead of circle.so is Mighty Networks
Thanks for suggestion
I thought Trello would be in the list for sure
I like simple :)
Evernote is dope
miro
notion
:heart
Nice
Noah - Check out videoask.com it allows you to create video forms and people can submit their answers to your questions by video, audio, and just email. It integrates with a ton of other apps, Slack, Google Docs etc.. Super easy to set up and they have a free version too. I know you like that....
You use it for customers?
@@noahkagan I use it for customer development questions and I'm looking to do it for e-commerce product video testimonials.
Try out StayTouch!
Tell me more
I think Asana is a very nice project management tool.
Why you look 10 years younger than the average Noah Kagan?
Haha. Why is your last name so sexy??
What's your biz about?
You may want to check out Mighty Networks Think it is very powerful and may be better then Circle
Interesting will check out
It’s not business tools. It’s your media tools
todoist
Check out airr.io. Game changer for capturing and sharing podcast notes.
