Lots of negative and offended people here, remember most of these comics started in Working mens clubs in the North, where there was no nonsense or airs and graces.
Charlie Williams did more for race relations then any of the Inclusivity/ diversity on any TV advert today.
People may think this is rude but it broke down more barriers then it made.

No-one has been arrested this century just for their jokes as happened to George Carlin and Lenny Bruce and Mae West and Richard Pryor, among others…. Many comedians were arrested for things they said on stage in the last century that offended audience members. Check for yourself, you couldn’t be more wrong.

No comedians in England like this now... England will have to get used to those fantastic immigrant comedians.

The biggest difference between today's "comedians" and this lot is that in the 1970s they told jokes as opposed to doing "routines". And, yes, the comics in the 1970s were funny!

Modern comedy is very different kind of comedy compared to comedy from the 70s and early 80s, these are basically men telling christmas cracker jokes on stage, it's no different to reading a knock knock joke in front of a bunch of people. Modern stand up comes from situational observations. A joke can last 10 to 15 minutes and will always get a call back towards the end of a show. Comedians now a situation relevant to them and make them relevant to the audience. I've not laughed once watching any of these comedians, well with the exception of Mike Reid because like I stated earlier, they're just telling christmas cracker jokes. And before anyone says you're too young to understand, I watch a lot of classic comedies from Dads Army, Two Ronnies, Only Fools, Steptoe & Son etc so I do find humour in a lot of "older comedy" but not these.
