Awesome video again JH. Looks like you had a bit of rain on the bags going by the green strips alongside the bags as you were rolling them up. Awesome work Rhiannon helping out, what every great man needs is an amazing wife to help him out. 😂
Hi JH have really enjoyed this video again your some worker shifting all that grain on your own your lucky having a wife who helps you outside on the farm
Hi John This is Darren Katterhagen. I am at Olds Alberta Canada. I drive truck hauling grain up here. We have been hauling from near Strathmore Alberta. They have built a bag unloader using a REM grain vac, with a custom built bag roller that attaches to it. No more shoveling and the roller splits the bag into 2 smaller rolls. When the roller is full, they tape it up, then swing the rollers out, drop the bags and continue on. This system can load what we use up as super b,s grain trailers in about 20 minutes, about 1800 bu.
Hi John Have you been watching Mike Mitchell unloading grain bags ? He has quite the fun with them Be careful blaming the Canadians too much lol 😂 You might lose some subscribers lol 😂 Hope you and crew have a great Christmas 🎄🎅🏻 Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦
This is the first video I have watched on your channel and I'm curious why you can't load directly from the grain bag to the truck? And yes I'm from Canada lol.
Unfortunately they just go to landfill. They aren't recyclable and the recycling companies don't want them. It is a real shame to only use it once and would love for them to be reused for something else but not much we can do
congrats on completing the harvest. Great team work and lots of planning in the background. your dad must be proud of you
and FB - Fairly Big
J.H. I seen tarp and bags with grain before, but I have never seen a grain cart been filled before, so thank you
Thanks JH for explaining the bin names. I’ve been wondering, just forgetting to ask. Makes perfect sense now.
It's a question I get a lot! so figured I needed to redress it and let everyone know

Earned your beers JH

Now that would be nice!!!

Good stuff young Tommy🤙
Being from Canada, no offence taken. When ever we are eating outside and drop something down under the deck, we blame Australia.😂

Haha I was working there when that happened.
Hi John why don't you get a portable vacuum system and blow / suck grain into tanks chaser bins make it alot easier
Hi John,
You need to be very careful working by yourself at harvest time.
Another good video, and merry Christmas 🎅
Good one JH busier than a blue ass fly.
I like the L plate on the grain cart.
You could vacuum straight out of bag into chaser or field bi orsilo
Enjoy the videos John, can you recycle/re-purpose those plastic bags?? Seems a bit old school to just bury it on farm every year..
Unfortunately no we can't, we would love to but there is no company that will take them so it means they are just single use plastic
Heh John or JH have a good one m8
I love that tow hitch you have on your ute mate, I need one on mine for my boat.
Yer its bloody handy! Has saved my back many a time!
Great video Tom! How much does the hundred tonne field bin cost? Heaps cheaper than a mother bin?
A lot cheaper then a mother bin
Just curious why you haul all the gain in at once? Here in the US and Canada most grain farms store and ship grain throughout the year.
We don't have the on farm storage to do that. Also CBH doesn't accept grain throughout the year so you need to get it in during the "harvest" period
For not taking year round delivery we would call them crooks in the USA. Seems the grading in Australia is very strict also.
Hi John. What happens to the bags afterwards
I was going to ask the same question are the bags recycled or are they classified as soft plastics and head for landfill?
Unfortunately they just go to landfill. They aren't recyclable and the recycling companies don't want them. It is a real shame to only use it once and would love for them to be reused for something else but not much we can do
Save the shovel work for king George 😂
I wish I could!
Why are open top field bins so popular down there? What happens when it rains?
good question, i watch Lock valley farm, they have field bins with roofs, so its not a aussie thing
@@jayamd3579We have bins with tops on them, I think they don’t have tops so they can fit more into them
Rain is usually few and far between in west aust
@@paulrobins6851 mine have roofs. Always a random summer storm around.
@@paulrobins6851 There is always the chance of a thunderstorm during harvest.
What kind of hitch do you have on that truck?
Its a Lazy hitch from Hitchs and more
Bags look like a pain in the arse. Is it purely because trucks can’t keep at harvest?
Can you do a video how tom’s broke farm got its name?
... Nah, can't think of what FB stands for, you'll have to articulate it (I dare you).
It is fucking big isn’t it Jh
👍
I blame Canada for everything
