- Chris Gardner explains the history and his model of the 'chocolate box-esque' Isle of Wight location. A fantastic OO model railway, which features in the July issue of BRM magazine.

Lovely model of a lost railway gem. It's a treat to hear the stories too. There were and still are, some fabulous railways and locations on the Isle of Wight - my birthplace and home from age 0 yrs to 12 yrs. (1948 - 1959/60) I often went train spotting and travelled on the trains. Such great days!
A beautiful model thankyou,I saw this station when it was still intact and overgrown.
Lovely stuff lads! The interlocked frame and bell system is awesome
That is such a beautiful layout. Well done. :) I can't wait till I build my first layout, which will hopefully be Godshill Station.
Awesome layout, that interlocking is pretty neat.
I lived on the Isle of Wight for many years. I didn’t get to see much of it unfortunately. I was in Parkhurst. Just kidding. Great layout. Keep up the good work.
what a marvelous story and model, also little do people know behind this gentle unassuming demeanor is an absolute rock 'N' roll legend.
Rock n Roll legend eh? Trains and Rock n Roll - what a combination!
@@chrisgardner87 the train kept a rollin
"Choo Choo Ch Boogie"!
When I was at the Astolat MRC exhibition in Guildford in 2014, a modeller had a “What if?” layout of Ventnor with electric trains running on down from Shanklin. He also ran it with steam as well. I never could understand why the 3rd rail on went to Shanklin and no further. I know it has been many times suggested that the truncated section could be re-opened even as recently as 2023.
Loved your Ventnor West model, very authentic.
Absolutely delightful! Thank you.
So glad to see this model--wonderful job Chris! I can't believe its been 20 years since meeting you in Alton (when visiting from Canada). Many fond memories of our exchanges on the old SEMG e-mail newsgroup. Congrats on the magazine coverage for this superb layout--definitely deserved!
Nice to hear from you. Early SEMG days were happy memories!
Charming, well built, model - I would love to see them all set up together - clearly a lot of thought and knowledge goes with and that always makes for a better model.
Thanks for sharing and presenting it to us✌️👍😊
The whole thing will be at the Basingstoke show this year
