As a St. Louis Blues fan I got choked up when Steen and Parayko presented Laila with a real ring. They are a class organization with class players. The team flew her out to Boston at their expense for game 7 so she could join in with hoisting the Cup if they won it. But it goes deeper than that. The victory parade wasn't like your "normal" parade with the players going by in cars or fire engines. They walked along the barricades shaking hands and high fiving them while drinking copious amounts of Bud LIght. Fans were allowed to get pictures with, and yes, touch and kiss the Cup. It was surreal and it is one of the reasons I think hockey players are the classiest of all athletes. It was a year I will never forget.
No one knows the story of Colton Parayko and that girl. The girl was a huge Blues fan and she loved Colton Parayko. She was with the blues franchise hanging out for a long time, just as she got out of the hospital. She had cancer, and she fought it. Parayko met her in the hospital, and ever since then those two have been bffs and she has been a big part of the blues organization. LETS GO BLUES
No one knows? The entire country is familiar with the story. It was highly publicized during the cup run. Do you just write shit to make yourself feel special?
When I heard about tbis story during the playoffs I was rooting hardcore for the blues. Beyond classy to give her a ring too. Rangers fan first but definitely a blues fan too after that one
Not a Blues fan but what they did for her not only letting her kiss Lord Stanley but being there for the Cup presentation and then to get an authentic players ring is AWESOME! I'm sure she is going to remember those 2 days for the REST OF HER LIFE!
The reactions of the kids are priceless. It’s a testament to how much those guys are role models to young people. The smallest gestures don’t go unnoticed.
Carey Price is the incarnation of class. He's very devoted to the Montreal community, especially children. He deserves all the respect in the world and he sure makes me damn proud to be a Habs fan even when the team struggles!
Bellches100 they don’t need to pay for the sticks. Football players do it all the time just not in game Cos there are rules and fines bro. It’s not that they don’t wanna do it. Fines are alright but they might get suspended too. So don’t blame the players, blame the league.
Best player to fan base in all professional sports. Such an awesome thing to see when kids get so excited receiving a puck or stick. Makes there world.
Love the kid at the end..."I feel like I shouldn't be touching this." 😂😭 What kid at that age would even think of that? Awesome fan! Makes you laugh and cry at the same time. NHL players/organizations are the Best!
I’m a leafs fan, but seeing how much love they gave to Layla not just for a few days, but for basically the whole end of season, it melted my heart. So I’m a leafs/blues/kraken(now) fan now :)
What I truly love about professional hockey is that so many players truly love interacting with the fans, especially kids. To them it’s not an obligation; they know the impact they bring with even simple gestures like giving away a puck. Love it!
I'm 100% a baseball fan, but I agree. These players seem to have a connection with the fans that cannot be matched. Plus the players are insanely talented considering the factors of the sport. Much love ❤️
Well I play football (the european one) and I don't have an idea about the NHL or hockey. But I respect them big time for their interactions with the fans. Price especially seems like an absolute hero.
Carey price is a class act not only did he give him his time at that practice. He also did this for him at the NHL awards and no doubt he seen him again at the all star game that following tear
After watching Reaves lose at tic tac toe I haven't been able to stop wondering if he lost on purpose or has just taken too many hits to the head lol. Thanks to Jens and all the other NHL content creators for giving us some hockey entertainment while the league is in Limbo!
How can these guys be the nicest kindest hearts and the meanest hardest fist at the same time? Nothing but respect and admiration for the sport and the players
It’s crazy and so cool how your favorite player could toss you a puck or a stick and they might not think much of it, but it has a huge affect on you and how your life is going because of one thing
One of the biggest ones ever was in 1997 when the Hurricanes were introducing their mascot, the person dressed as the mascot had a seizure while waiting in the zamboni for the introduction
One of the biggest ones ever was in 1997 when the Hurricanes were introducing their mascot, the person dressed as the mascot had a seizure while waiting in the zamboni for the introduction
to know what these players have to do and engage in the mental aspect of the game, then turn it off and do this for all the fans is remarkable, these guys are super heroes. Not all super heros wear capes.
Man I will never forget the night the Avs played the Coyotes in Denver. I was skating for the Arvada Storm with my kid brother playing AA hockey and our mother was dying. Our organization connected with Kroenke Sports and they set us up to meet the team and skate onto the ice for the Anthem. I stood next to Ryan Smyth and we had the 6 glass seats next to the bench. Gretzky coached the Coyotes. The hockey family is the best family. A night I will never forget.
I know it would be difficult to find since there's no stat that marks the occurrence but a video of bench goalies catching wild pucks would be really cool. I love that image of the bench diving for cover and the goalie casually tracking it down.
I’m a Blackhawks fan and because of that I don’t like the Blues. However, everything that organization did for Laila Anderson was top notch. Y’all have my respect.
I met Carey price before he made it I'm the NHL and still have a pick signed by him. I was really young at the time but I remember my aunts knowing someone so that we got to see. My favourite Vancouver Giants game to date. Love the guy from Vancouver
The kid, Anderson Whitehead, is a very big habs fan. His mom wanted him to meet Carey Price, but was unable to arrange it before she died of cancer. Price eventually learns about this, and he meets up with him occasionally.
The first interaction was the one video during practice where price signs 2 of his sticks, plus the kids Jersey and mini stick... and gave the kid the longest hug. He's a class act.
Thats what happend note his mom sent a note to Carey, then Carey tried to get hold of her then he knew she had cancer so then Carey saw the kid in the stains, that happend a year ago
Touching stuff! Brings joy and tears all at the same time. Gotta love it. I have to ask though... Did Carey Price make the ASG that year? Because that would be awesome full circle inviting the kid to the game and making the ASG to celebrate and enjoy it together
I remember once radim Vrbata was signing cards and I had his card from when he was playing for the black hawks and he was playing for the Phoenix coyotes for like 5 years and hasn't seen himself in that Jersey in years and it was all folded from being in my pocket so he signed that one and grabbed two more cards signed them and handed them too me, what a guy
BRUH THE ANDERSON PRICE ONCE MAKES ME CRY LIKE A BABY EVERYTIME!
Thank you for the pin!! Keep up the amazing videos ☺️
Gives me a reason to ugly cry some more 😆 I think I'm running out of tears and it's only been 3 days of no hockey.
Same here 😭
Me too

Carey price telling that kid that everything would be ok and that they were going to have fun in Vegas made me cry
He's such a likeable guy. Even as a leafs fan, I feel bad for him when he's in a slump.
Can I get a back story?

What Carey Price does for habs fans and fans of him is amazing. Reminds me of what Cujo did with Cujo kids.
I never looked at him that way but as a Caps fan, a new found respect for him and will support him always.

What the Blues did for that girl is insane! She even got a legit cup ring! Mad respect to the Blues org!

It touched my heart when price came out for Anderson it made me cry by the way I am a leafs fan
Same and Im a Bruins/Leafs fan
Why is it important which team you are a fan of?
Carey Price is the incarnation of class. He's very devoted to the Montreal community, especially children. He deserves all the respect in the world and he sure makes me damn proud to be a Habs fan even when the team struggles!
Hockey players gotta be the nicest of all pro athletes just saying.
I think all pro sports players are the same way with fans, especially kids. They ALL remember what it was like to be a kid and look up to someone.
Bellches100 they can’t give fans a ball, it’s a rule
Bellches100 they also don’t put for their sticks and they have over 5 of them

NFL has stupid rules. Stupid rules for a stupid sport.

Something about hockey players, they seem to care and give back so much. It's more than just the sport.
cam newton and jj watt do this stuff a lot. so does LBJ obj and westbrook. euro soccer players are unreal to child fans
