Hi Sir, One small request, Could you please make a video on how to identify which letter is silent in words during the pronunciation. I always pronounce wrong when the letters are silent. Thanks
English is one of the difficult and incomplete language. Amharic Ethiopian language for example pronunciation is not a matter. all spell in words are consonant. once you knows the alphabetic letter you can read or pronounce any types words with out difficulty. therefore in Amharic language no need of training or tutorial about pronunciation and listening . knowing the Amharic alphabetic letter and meaning words is sufficient to be fluent speaker. this why Amharic language is better than other languages in script.
im a native speaker but im learning a foreign language so i thought itd be interesting to learn what others go thru learning my language while i learn theirs
Excellent guys, thanks a lot. Please allow me to share my experience as a foreigner in your country. I have lived in Texas for a while, I moved there to work when I was 33, and being Brazilian, living in Brazil, working for international banks, you speak English, but you are not in a English-spoken country. In addition, you can switch back to your original language easily. Well, although my "office English" was good, things would get a more complicated when you go out of the work environment and have to be quite colloquial to sound more fluent...but hey, talking like a native speaker is not going to happen soon. First of all, you should realize that if you have not learned a second language when your "talking equipment" is young, lets until 10, 12, the physical part of it gets in the way. It is not only the brain, but to speak well, you need an accurate hearing/listening tool...your mouth muscles, throat - mountain was a tough initially - then the rules. Façade, Fiancée, Fiancé, those are examples of non-Anglo Saxon words that will not follow the usual "English" type of pronunciation. The company would help us by paying some local English instructors, and after some not so good picks, we actually found someone who majored English, a guy, and in our 1-1, I would totally explore "good English" and "bad English", learn some slangs and stuff, you learn something that you are not actually expect to speak, but you must know it, bad words being part of it. Finally, I could suffer less like pronounce correctly "restaurant" or ordering "olive oil" without having to repeat it a couple of times. I want to say that in Texas, only few times I bumped into that real "Texan" accent, see, "Texan", not "Southern", the handyman, usually less educated people, everyone else, would pretty much speak without that accent. Best experience of my life. 5 years living a dream. I had to return, and I love the videos here, yours too, to help us keeping up with accent and English in general. Remember: "office English is easier as you will listen and write similar words every single day.
It is a really useful lesson to learn and practice English pronunciation . I know most of them . But the best thing I have learned is correcting my enunciation . Teacher Wes, thank you so much ❤️ for this amazing presentation .
You are one of the best teacher in this world 🌍. Hats off to you . I'll definitely learn all these words. I'm so grateful to you. I'm big fan of your way of teaching. I'm from India 🇮🇳.
You forgot to mention that in the word “often” the T may as well be pronounced and many Americans follow that pronunciation. Even many trusted dictionaries show these two pronunciations as correct. Have a nice day !
For me, a Swede, it's hard to remember the "lik"-ending of Heimlich manuever in Engish instead of a "lich" ending. We tend to pronounce it more like the German pronuciation in Swedish.
Hii Wes sir . Sir I have a question The door is not opening Or The door is not getting open Which one is correct Situation is this due to some problem we are unable to open the door
That's wonderful, Margaret. I'm so happy to have you as part of the Interactive English family. I hope you learn something new with this lesson. Have a great day! 😃
These videos are just too awesome! I'm a lover of the English language and it makes me very happy that I can continue improving myself. God bless you both!
sixthS (not sixth). That one is like hell for me. I have no idea what to do with that "S" at that end as the whole word is supposed to be pronounced in just one syllable.
Hi Wes.Thank you for the great lesson as always. What a nice couple you are!I'm sure your wife is definitely your significant other and vice versa🙆. Did you two make this video while your cute daughter,Emi,was sleeping? I'm looking forward to the next episode.Have a good one. Ikuo Suenaga from Japan.
I was going to attend speaking courses with hope, maybe it would be cheap, but because I live in Turkey, there is no such thing as cheap. 1 dollar has become 18 lira.

Thanks for pronouncing the words. However, some explanations were funny or out of place. I don't know if pronouncing the word at different a speed or just breaking it would be enough
I think the most confusing words are words with similar sounds such as dock and duck for example, collar and color. At least to my east european ear it sounds pretty much the same, i would be delighted go find a lesson that deals with this kind of words.
Thanks!
Thanks so much for your donation. Your support helps make all this possible. 😊 ❤️
