One extra tip: the white arrow on the map indicates the direction of the wind. Always hunt agains the wind. If you hunt moving to the same direction of the wind, deers will scent you and run away
i've just spent 3 hours gathering materials and looking around and just built my first house .. this game is amazing with an awesome soundtrack that relaxes you and keeps you going on the addiction street.
@@nawab256 I'm sure the survival game community knew about it, but for those of us that played like half a dozen of them and said "they're all the exact goddamn same", this is definitely a huge surprise.
I love this game, been playing it for like 15 hrs already. It's great because it's a cheap game that looks a little retro and is super fun. It's nice to play a simple game that actually works
This is THE best game I’ve ever played in a very, very, very long time. This is a childhood dream come true. Roleplaying/adventuring with your friends.
This game is the perfect example of a well-made game concept. - No fancy textures/graphics - No fancy mechanics - No skins/microtransactions Just a simple survival game that sticks to the basics, like the way it should be.
Gonna be doing a series on this game; any more tips from folks in comments with over 10 hours in the game would be helpful. Thanks IGN for this, seems like a solid start to a classic open world survival game. (i stream everynight if anyone wants to join my world once i get past tutorial LOL) -mm
For some reason my computers having problems running the game and even though I’ve turned all the graphics to the lowest setting it’s still running under 20 fps and idk what to do
The UI, controller layout and lack of crafting from storage mechanics are my major problems. Otherwise, I love the game. Why can't I drop items with a controller?
I need help staying interested past the first 30 mins as I have no idea what I should be doing. I stumbled across an a frame structure in disrepair but had no idea how to repair or upgrade it. Have no idea how the crafting functions works, etc., have no weapons other than a torch and my fists. The tips here seem like they are for people already familiar with the basic functionality of the game or games that are similar.
Run around collect stones and wood. Craft hatchet, collect more wood, craft hammer, right click hammer to open a building menu, plop down workbench to have a set area you can build in and go from there. Need to have a roof structure to be able to actually go into workbench functions so just plop one down throw a shack up and then push middle mouse button to remove old work bench and throw one down in ur shack. Then repair all tools and craft better items yada yada yada
Honestly, you could probably play it on a 980+ with 8 gb of ram and a quad core processor, like Sandy Bridge era... I'm overkill on an R9 3900x and 2080 ti and it runs 1440p at 144fps for my gsync screen no problem.
That's how I've mostly been playing it. Solo then helping friends when they get on. My first boss was with a knife...and thats it lol. The very first basic weapon. Lots of hit and runs akin to Dark Souls so I recommend gearing up a bit more lol. But solo definitely feels different. Friends feels fun and chaotic but solo feels great being able to go at your own pace, not to mention the visuals and OST makes it very zen feeling.
this game solo is the best game ive ever played, its very challenging, but its only up to you how hard the grind and combat will be. if you are creative you can go through it feeling like you have conquered the whole map. you basically terraform all the time for the most efficient mining while fighting off enemies that could be in dark souls. this is an amazing game.
Would like to point out that for the first point, "seasoned gamers" like yourself that run past tutorials to get into the game are therefore not seasoned gamers... because... uh... why skip crucial information thats delivered in a manner so that you dont have to go through trial and error to do stuff?
