    In this video I present how to create a seamless PBR environment material
    using a single image based reconstruction technique with Substance Alchemist.
    To show pros but also cons of this technique as a subject I decided to pick a quite tricky for a single image base reconstruction technique type of surface .. beach pebbles.
    I really hope someone finds this video useful :),

      I am really happy to know you found something for yourself in this video. If I might suggest I would also recommend more recent video where I present recently introduced to the Alchemist AI powered B2M layer: ua-cam.com/video/XDAUw_dSmt8/v-deo.html
      Cheers!

    Considering this is a single processed image, this is a pretty incredible result. The effort (and hardware) for doing this through reality capture or metashape is a lot higher. Nice video, thanks for sharing your testing!

      For this video I processed way more types of surfaces, but since the video would be too long with them I decided to cut them. This surface was a really tricky one.. this is why I decided to picked this one for this video. Results I got with a grass, tarmac, leaves or even cliff walls were amazing and very competitive to those I get with the photogrammetry. But for surfaces like this one, or leaves.. the photogrammetry is way better .. I guess it would be worth and benefficial to share them too in the next video :). And thanks.. appreciated :). Yeah.. I think I should make a video to cover it.. and maybe even compare the same surface made using photogrammetry and single image based reconstruciton.

    Excellent video, drone shots looked great and its nice to see strange dogs love photogrammetry as well :) im sure its more or less impossible to get a good shot using a heavy camera on the end of a pole, maybe you can try a light weight camera like a sony a6000 and perhaps try a small ladder to get some height so you can make the pole shorter)

      Big thanks Barny :). Unfortunatelly I dont have a budget to spend on a new camera yet. I guess I will when the current one is dead.

      @@GrzegorzBaranArt You should consider Sony A6300 / A6500, it's pretty light and has a great autofocus. You can then attach your smartphone to the monopod and control the camera from your smartphone, and even see the camera view on the screen in realtime (via WiFi)

    Awesome, could you do one on the multi angle scan to material method ? Been looking for content around that and I can't find much if any.

      Do you mean a video to cover the photogrammetry stereo technique? Sure.. its on my list together with the cross-polarisation :D, hope you will like it when released, cheers!

    7:39 One of the reasons I love getting the Mavic Mini. Doesn't need to be registered.

    • @GrzegorzBaranArt
      @GrzegorzBaranArt  4 роки тому

      Yeah, but its camera has just 1/2.3” CMOS
      sensor with 12 MP effective pixels and stores images in 8 bits only just as a JPEG. So the best you can get from mini is 4000×3000px with just the 8bit of color depth. I would be happy to have it tested tho as soon I have this drone but my guess is that a DSLR camera on a monopod would do better job for single image based reconstruction.

    This is great! I've been doing something very similar lately. When is the AI version being relseased from Alchemist?

      I think it has just happened with the recent update. Planning to test it soon. Should make a video to share results.

    4:30 Wouldn't a remote shutter release be easier than the timer?

    • @GrzegorzBaranArt
      @GrzegorzBaranArt  4 роки тому

      I prefer a cable one.. much easier and quicker to connect. On this capture I forgot it so used a delay timer .. but I captured leaves at 8:41 with cable remote mounted instead.
      Btw. I could also use my mobile to remotely release the shutter as Canon 80D suports that.. but it would be super tough to deal withthe camera and mobile at the same time :D
