    Physical beauty is as a word is to meaning in spirit and by itself alone is just vanity. True beauty is of the character and in the heart. The most beautiful woman I have ever seen was a woman that was extremely hideously deformed and mean people on the internet would mock her and tell her to kill herself. Even though they were so mean she was as kind as can be to them. Her sweet kind and gentle character pierced my heart to such a degree I have never felt my heart pierced so extremely before or after that.

    • @brahhuzzah3743
      @brahhuzzah3743 2 роки тому +4

      This is a horrible take. To equate all stand-alone physical beauty as being vain is not in accordance with reality whatsoever. Beauty can and does exist in character, sure, but it also exists truly in objective reality in the form of aesthetic beauty.
      If physical beauty alone was strictly a form of vanity, great works of art that are pleasing to observe would not be praised as being truly beautiful. They would all be seen by all as works of futile, self-righteous artists looking for personal vainglory. Of course, that’s not the case whatsoever.
      The beauty of highly-valued aesthetics are so pleasing to us that we go through absurd lengths to preserve them in their initial form. All of this points to the fact that physical beauty is important to our nature, and that there are objective standards as to what makes a thing aesthetically beautiful, in accordance with how pleasing it is for us to observe it.

      @@brahhuzzah3743 You do not understand what I wrote. Have you ever heard of a vanity mirror. One can become vain about looks but being good looking does not automatically make you vain. Hence the word ALONE in my statement.

      @perserverance333 2 роки тому +2

      @TA: An outwardly beautiful person is still beautiful even if they are mean on the inside, because outward beauty is objective. Many marry based on appearance because sexually attractive people have beautiful children and being beautiful ensures a mate and the continuation of the species. Some, however look for inward beauty regardless of outward appearance when choosing a mate, but not the majority.

    I set a reminder for this on yt. Then I found it uploaded earlier on gtv so watched it there. Watched it a second time today on yt simply because it blows my mind that "God thinks, therefore I am." With that, I also understood the memory / serve / Father part of the 3 faculties (the other two being intellect / know / Son and will / love / Holy Ghost). I was puzzling for months over how the memory faculty belongs to the Father. Well, this video (and something Fr Dennis Gordon, FSSP mentioned in his Bible Study of St. John's Gospel) finally made me understand. God bless Fr. Ripperger and Steve and family.

    The demons have knowing and belief in God but not faith and that is the important aspect. Believing in God as the everflowing endless source of creation is one thing but having faith involves believing in everything God has revealed. The demons in pride lie to themselves and looking inside themselves and lacking they tell themselves, "What could be greater than I, if I don't have it then how could it exist". They didn't believe God as being substantially infinite Love but only perceived the power of God because of their lacking and only equate things to power and control over others.

    God created us to know love and serve him. (Baltimore Catechism) The 3 duties are the path to holiness. How do we serve and love if we do not have clarity and prudence? A suicide bomber serves with misguided courage. A professor can have knowledge but live in an ivory tower. Love alone is servitude to feelings as in, Johnny Cash's ring of fire which is an ancient image of eternal suffering. Dorothy's 3 helpers the Tin Man Scarecrow and Cowardly Lion are brainless, heartless wimps. They are funny in a movie but horrible as leaders in the real world.

    One of the first modernists in France, a Father Loisey said that he believed that Jesus was crucified under Pontius Pilate and was skeptical of everything else in the creed. In the 1800s, the historical study of the bible began in Europe, which assumed that there was a method of measuring the past that was superior to anything taught by the Catholic Church. Step one, cancel Catholic doctrine, piety, sacraments and morality. Substitute the words: the bible says or scholars say (follow the Science) and then say anything. Since there is no authoritative church, every opinion is equally infallible. Step two, believe in nothing but do not stop talking.

    Fr, you said demons just have to look at themselves to know the Will of God; based on their inclinations. Does that mean they knew that God wills them to fall and be evil, and so they agreed to it as if to say "Amen" to the will of God? If so, then it doesn't seem right to call demons evil/bad because they are just basically doing God's will; they are the ones doing the "dirty job" to accomplish God's design. If not, then could please clarify or expound on this? I'm confused on this one. Thanks.

    • @blazejavier7162
      @blazejavier7162 2 роки тому

      Friend, God created all things out of love, for love. The angels, and humans, are made to love. Evil is not God's will, it is an absence of love, an absence of God. The angels who fell, know the truth, they understand it, but they do not want to accept it. Because of pride, or the love of self. It is a forgetfulness of the truth, a forgetfulness of God.
      The demons are trying to prevent our salvation because they have become pride (hatred). Even when we choice destruction (evil), out of our will, God can alter the end of the act for a constructive cause. Just like the Cross, this evil act was done by the prideful rulers of Israel, with the end to destroy God made man Jesus, but God chose to save us by this vary act. This does not mean the Pharisee's and Judas did God's will, they did there own will.
      Romans 3:8
      "And not rather (as we are slandered, and as some affirm that we say) let us do evil, that there may come good? whose damnation is just.".
      Sirach 10:13 “For pride is the beginning of sin..."
      Blood of Christ, terror of demons, save us. ✝

    Please tell me how to merge my knowledge of science (I am a professional geologist) with the churches teaching of creation. I can make the leap of faith with limits. Science and math also define Order, Motion Causality, Dependence and Perfection objectively. Acquinas defined the same subjectively. Tielhard DeChardin tried to merge science and faith - truth - and like me probably went to his grave believing truth at 80%. I know Ian not explaining this well.

      Teilhard de Chardin tried to reconcile but his own arrogance with the Church‘s teaching.
      You‘re certainly not doing the same, that‘s evident. Yet the contradictions we claim are often imagined by us because we judge certain ideas greater than they are. Maybe start with some works of Leo XIII refuting Teilhard and do some research about geology prior to the modern period.
      Most of all, pray to God, for He shall give His help if one only asks for it, be that in thought, word or deed.

      Thank you. I am primarily an expert in Permian fossil record - evidence of oil deposits. Quite a long time before mammals. I long for someone to keep me centered. Since my brother passed there seems to be no one in the church that even wants to discuss these kinds of questions. My brother was an astrophysicist and worked for NASA yet was the most devout Catholic I could ever know. He always told me that God can only deal with truth. As long as my science was truth it could never contradict God or church teaching. Maybe that is as good as it will get for me. I will do the research you suggest - knowledge is a gift from God too. I will pray for clarity in my mind and spirit - that said I will probably be researching on my death bed and if I make it to heaven God and I are going to have a long talk.

    A person calls a group of nuns racist based on that person's experience.
    However, another person has the same group of nuns and doesn't have the same experience, and doesn't believe the group of nuns are racist.
    Both are subjective truths.
    How would you male the statement, "This group of nuns are evil ractst" ?

    Your comment that you may have arrogance…..I see it this way, if you know 2+2=4……your not arrogant to refuse debate…..your firm because there is no other answer. Truth is truth. People say “arrogance”, I say it’s educated.

    I very rarely, if ever, would disagree with Fr. Ripperger, but beauty is not an intellectual phenomenon at all. It's spiritual.

      These two things do not contradict each other. If you listen closely to how Father explains the cause of true beauty, you‘ll recognize God‘s role (the spiritual part).
      Your statement is comparable to saying "Apples are not a kind of fruit, they‘re food."
