Interestingly, this type of jet engine has been built on a larger scale. It is actually called a motorjet or thermojet. Experimental versions used a piston engine to power a compressor, which compressed incoming air. Fuel was added and burned. And the exhaust was accelerated through a nozzle to generate thrust. But this engine was superseded by the turbojet. The primary reason for considering this engine in the early days of jet propulsion is that it avoided the need for a turbine back when superalloys that could handle the heat of combustion were in their infancy.
Great 👍♥️♥️
I thought it didn't need fuel. I thought the electricity would turned the air into fire.
THAT DOES NOT EVEN EXIST
Should probably clarify in the video description that it's a mock jet engine and not meant to be a proper functional build.
Still a neet project though.
brooo, it was made usin a coke can. who could think that this could be attached to something and go awaaay? kkk
Great little forced air burner. But shaping it like a jet does not make it a jet engine. Might be nice to use for toasting marshmallows though.

UA-cam: Homemade jet engine!!1!1!11!!
I LOVE ENGINEERING!!!!!
This is the coolest thing I've seen in a long time! Job well done to the young man who created this!
@matthewstorm5188 yes you're correct but the way i see it i just think he made an edf (electric ducted fan) used in rc plane models and then he atached a pipe that injects fuel so its not a jet yet a edf that burns fuel
It is an EDF Afterburner
Es magnífico 👍👍👍
Thanks
Boeing Mechanic here, this is awesome man!
Not a jet engine but interesting.
LOL, right, this is another Indian gimmick
If you had a fan connected to the compressor fan and made use of the accelerating gasses coming out the back resulting into faster spinning of compressor fan then you’d have an engine. Right now you just have combustion with consistent but minimal thrust.
Bro.. this is just a look like . Not a an actual jet engine. 😂
Almost😅 in a jet engine the exhaust gasses turn a turbine blade that is connected to the forward intake blade. The throttle is based on fuel input. You could use a t bone and slot connector to have a easy way to get it spinning with the electric motor in front. Then when you pull the starter motor away and it is self sustained it is a true jet.
But what you have now is basically an electric ducted fan with neat after burner. Still a really nice proof of concept. Great work 🎉
Thanks bro I really appreciate.
You know such comments motivates me the more on creating better contents ♥️♥️👍 I really appreciate you 🖐️.
Have a nice day 😘
That's correct but everyone has to start somewhere and this guy is on the right path along with people's knowledge and input!🙂✌️
Thanks a lot bro for that motivation 👊
that turbine is a fan powered "jet", just wanna make it for a science fair ik it doesn't work like that but i dont wanna go actually make a jet, this is close enough
no combustion chamber and there is only one turbine but thats not a turbine that is just edf with flamable gas coming aout behind but its a good demonstration for a model jet like edf good job
Thanks friend
this is not a jet engine but it does show how after-burners work
That thing you did with the compass to detach the end….I can’t do that without getting the chills
😂😂😂
Thats a fancy looking blow torch not a jet engine!
Great build, with your skill i think you could make a pulse jet engine out of tin can. No moving parts required
Yes! I was thinking that! I made a little one in college out of a Maglight! Obviously it wasn't going to run long, but it was fun to tinker with.
I think this would make for a better personal heater.
Fine
Sorry but this is just a mini stove. if it's not self-sustaining, it's not an "engine".
😂😂
Nice project but that's not how a jet engine works!
please can u teach me sir
maybe mix fuel closer to the front so it combusts inside forcing air out not out side wasting energy
🤨🤨🤨 Jezzzzzzz! That's crazy😂😂
Very great working principle
The fuel I guess is not producing thrust due to low air intake nxt time use a more powerful and a big battery for more intake for a decent thrust output for the amount of fuel used
Thanks friend 👍
@@gabtechexpo4017 welcome
Try upgrading the turbine blade with more fins with combustion chamber which will be easy to operate at high speed
That’s exactly what am working on now, and the video will be released tomorrow 👍♥️. Thanks for your contribution friend
I'm building a single seat WIG craft using jet engines that I hope to build.
Me encanta 👍👍👍 pero como emana fuego 🔥🔥🔥
I think this Idea is usefull for blow torch or make high temperature foundry.
Yeah
That’s what I thought when I saw what it actually is, blow torch.
Turn the soda can 90 degrees, now you can grill some nice steak in your backyard.
Cool but thats no jet.. edf with burner maybe... Gas powered hair dryer maybe..
❤ the burning
.....American American
Random person: Whats your plane powered by?
Me: can
soda air force finna be wild
cocacola force one
Enjoyed every seconds of the video 😍😍😍
Thanks friend
Gonna make a model fighter jet with this
Great
такой штукой можно Xeon 2011 охлаждать)))
That is very awesome!
Thanks a lot friend
Cant wait for integza to find this
Actually, integza build jet engine, compressor is still electric driven tho
Make a great desk fan for your office.
This kid is the real Tony Stark. Making an engine with scrap metal. Genius. Make a arc reactor 😁
Tony Stark you said
@gabtechexpo4017 yes, hopefully you know who that is
Waw🤨
intresting job. Well done
Very clever but not a jet engine, its an electric motor driven blow torch, still impressive...
All the comments complaining about it not being a "real" jet engine, lighten up. Most of you likely couldn't even cook yourself dinner and would die of starvation if it wasn't for uber eats.
This comment doesn't apply to me.
I cook better than a hotel chef
As a kid, I used to think I was pretty cool making little aircraft with wind driven propellers out of pop cans... I realize now, I'm just not cool anymore. 🤣
Long life and prosperity
The single stage "compressor" (aka improvised fan disk) is only electrically driven making this closer to a blow torch than a jet engine.
Well it's a jet, it's called an EDF Jet.
How the heck did you balance those blades? How much thrust is it producing??
less than what it weighs clearly
Should write a step-by-step guide. I would love to use this in my classroom for a project. However, I will have to modify it for more blades, an actual compression stage and combustion chamber, and make it a low-bypass turbofan.
That's great.
Hahaha close but no cigar , but quite creative 👍
Bro’s got surgeon hands 👏🏻 Even if I knew how to do it, my hands couldn’t be that precise and smooth.
It's called video editing
@@marcd1981 Yeah because making hands not shake is “video editing” 😂
@@DylanMartinRacingGo ahead and believe he actually built whatever that was without editing any of the video. It isn't possible to get that put together as quick as he was showing that glue supposedly dry. That's what the editing was 🤡
Amazing simple DIY jet engine bro!
Thanks
You should probably place foil on the wooden pegs holding the motor or it would probably burn to a crisp (I don’t know much about this this is just my idea)
Thanks friend ❤️ I think that's a great idea
There is no fire in the can. The fuel nozzle is almost sticking out of the back and the fan is making sure it all blows out.
You should not talk anymore
Amazing
♥️
This is a fan driven blow torch
So good new in build jet engine
More like blow torch but still cool! 😁
Grandioso 👍👍👍👍👍 aguan más
*Nice Room Heater!*
great job
Thanks 🙏🏻
@@gabtechexpo4017orang indo kah ces?
This is very good video! Thank you for tutorial and explaining how jet engine works!
You're welcome dear
I built one from a Pepsi can and used the Pepsi cola as fuel 😆. Going to start my jet engine company now, the Cola Engines Corp. 🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣
How did you make the fire? Where is the fuel supply coming from??😊

Ingeniosa turbina..!! Se llevo su tiempo hacerla..!!
To be sincere I don't understand your language please 🙏
@@gabtechexpo4017he said: "Ingenious turbine...!!! It took time to make it...!!!"

Yeah sure👍👍👍
Yeah sure👍👍👍
Don’t mind the negative comments, u did a great job 👏
Thanks friend ♥️
Wow.. kid.. if you are a kid.. you have a bright future ahead of you.😊😊😊
Nice
He does not lmao
I’m gonna build this and make an airplane with it
I wish you luck.
Pretty cool.
But technically it's more a compressed air intake blowtorch than a jet engine.
Thanks
Maybe add a combustion chamber section behind using a steel canister or something to cover the flame that won’t melt with a turbine on a shaft back to the “compressor”. Finish it off with another coke can for the exhaust shaped like in the video and you have an actual gas generator
Aeronautical engineer : 👁️👄👁️
Can't tell if ur serious.
@@slowpoke6743 I'm joking. You from?
Good 👍
This is more like a propeller, but nice. Where do I get the parts?
That's actually really cool, im planning on making my own jet engines so this was a cool model to see
Great
Cool ducted fan w/AB
The real challenge though is : Would it fit a A380?
dude it aint even a jet engine
@@hurairahsartandcraft4515 lool, Agree 😀
That's really amazing
👍♥️♥️
*His hands are more stable than my chair* 💀
Great work gab tech expo I love this work
Thanks my G
If you remove power from the motor, does it sustain? If not, its no jet.. add more compressor wheels and a stator aling with a burn chamber with dilution holes..
Cool flame thrower 😂
Fine
It’s just for show clearly not self sustaining but cool concept I guess…
Instead butane gas what can i use
Petrol
Sanitizer
Perfume
Ethanol
if you have how to spray it constantly...maybe it works
Splendid...
COOL 👍
Awesome job on the Video by the way , opening up with the Jet Engine already Firing up like that was fantastic...
About damn time someone did THIS instead of endless PSYCHOBABBLE ....
Really cool 😎 great work
Thanks friend ❤️
Jet engine taste COKE! Nice taste.
Great 👍
Pretty cool even tho it’s basicly just a makeshift afterburner that can’t close.
this is Wakanda technology
Nah bruh it's your father's technology 😅
Is. There actually thrust
Yeah
there is thrust from the fan and little of the combustion but that cant be called thrust
On what stance you call this a jet engine? The Shape?
Someone don't know how jets work 😂
In 10 years bros gonna make a. "DIY" homemade rocket engine
I’d give it 5 years lol
Amazing ❤❤
Thanks friend
what was the cable thing you used before the combustion can you please enlighten me that part ?
I was used to Power the DC motor
Nice🎉🎉
Thanks
gracias mano no me acordaba cómo abia hecho mí Antigua turbina era parecida a esa pero yo no batalle corte las laminas y ise los sirculos
That's really awesome
You need a job in Hollywood fr
Put a diffuser so it stops the rotation of airflow
You know I believe you could make useable thrust with this would get a outrunner brushless and better fan though
Thanks a lot friend ♥️
👍👍
Yeah ♥️
Make a entire model plane outta soda cans
How are you givig fuel intake, please help
Can’t wait to try this with my 2 four year olds
Thrust?
stop being so mean guys, it's not like he's creating an original jet engine.
Beautiful work
Keep doing what you're going to be a famous future aerospace engineer.
Just keep it up and focus on getting accepted into the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Ignorant people will criticize you for your skin color alone. But remember, they only complain because their life is a failure. Keep up the great work, young king.
