Loved your video. I just peeked into my bedroom / bathroom area where Edgecomb Gray is going on the walls as I type! It took me a long time to pick the color but it's looking really great.
I used Edgecomb in my kitchen. It really brightened things up and worked to cool down the mid-tone brown cabinets and brown granite. It wasn’t a Tuscan kitchen, but it also wasn’t that far off. Edgecomb brought the kitchen into this decade and plays well with the stainless appliances.
Hello Claire! your review is SO helpful. I would love to hear you opinion about edge comb grey and alder wood kitchen cabinets in spice. Would Edgecomb grey work?
Hi there. I'm not familiar with those cabinets and when I Googled it, many variations and colour tones popped up, so I can't say for sure. But you should always test a large sample board of any colour you are considering and see how it looks with other elements in your space. Feel free to download my Free Paint Guides here, they can help guide you :) clairejefford.com/ccd-freebies/
My entire condo is painted in BM White Dove, flat. Doors, and moulding white dove in semi-gloss white dove. I’m thinking of doing bathrooms in Wickham Gray, with vanities, in satin white dove. Will this work with floors and counter being Carrara marble? Thank You.
HI Claire...loved it! I am remodeling the basement rec room...very little light from the small window-wells that face face EST(great morning sun...for a while!) We are leaving the ceiling joists exposed and have can lighting there(LED on dimmers). It is a long narrow room (12 x 22). I need help with color for painting the wood and hardward of ceiling! I was advised to use Cloud White with walls being the palette you are talking about ...I like the blue & green undertones and am thinking of a grey/brown darker vinyl planking floor which will be jazzed up with area rug(s). So, Ceiling paint ideas for those exposed joists/ceiling stuff? Please?

We have done eggshell and matt finishes for bedrooms. Either can work, it depends on your preference. Some people really don't like mat because it's too flat.
I decided to paint everything since my wife and I are expecting our first kid in seven months. I had no idea how deep the rabbit hole is when it comes to color choices. I’m a simple man who lacks a good eye for what colors go well together. These videos are very helpful. What would you recommend for a main color for the whole house except bedrooms and possibly the dining room? I’m a fan of these grays so far but am open to suggestions! Quality content indeed.
Hi Andy. Congratulations on expecting your first baby! Some of my favourite grays are Classic Gray (new colour review video coming out later this week!) Revere Pewter and Balboa Mist. Always check potential colours with fixed elements, more info on that in my free download here --> clairejefford.com/ccd-freebies/ Good luck!
Hi, I am a new subscriber and painting my living and dining room for the very first time ever! I think I am going to go with Edgecomb (have it on one wall), but I was wondering what you thought about white dove for the trim? I also have white beadboard that goes halfway up in my dining room (living and dining room open into one another). I thought this was also a popular option but you did not mention it? Thank you so much, I love your videos!
Yes, White Dove works beautifully with Edgecomb Gray, as long as it will work on your trim with any other fixed elements in your home such as a floor tile and fireplace stone.
I have a lot of light in my dining room. I like the edge comb grey but need to pick up colors from a red oriental rug. I would like to put a dramatic difference under the chair rail. Do you have any suggestions?
Hi Georgianna, it's impossible for me to say without seeing your space and the rug. Try colour matching the rug with some small paint chips and see which red tones work the best.
I have painted our bedrooms gray owl. would you recommend edge comb gray for the front and living rooms (there is a lot of natural light in those rooms) or go with a warmer color like pismo dunes, or hot spring stones. They are large rooms.
Really LOVE your channel as always.....I recently plan to repaint my west-facing family room (high ceiling with a fireplace, and two windows - one on each side of the fireplace), ). I'm using Chelsea Gray as accent wall color (where the fireplace is). Was thinking to use Edgecomb Gray for the rest of the wall. Note my family room wall is connected all the way to the foyer (east facing). Just wonder if this is a good combination....for a neutral tone. Thank you!!
Hello there. Both those colours, Edgecomb Gray and Chelsea Gray are in the 'green' family. They would work beautifully together as a colour combination. Cheers for watching!
Just discovered your channel - re-doing rooms while trapped at home and all your advice is so helpful. In the midst of a bathroom remodel - originally thinking revere pewter or edgecomb grey or possibly even athena (a very neutral bathroom). And then a friend said "what about grey wisp." UGH too many choices. Revere Pewter is throughout my house with white dove but also considering Chantilly Lace for built in shelves / trim in bathroom. Does Chantilly white work with grey wisp? revere pewter? edgecomb grey? Thanks - and heading now to subscribe to everything you do. Your explanations are so clear!
Hi Donna! Gray Wisp is much more green than the other colours you mention, like Revere Pewter and Edgecomb Gray. They both have the green undertone, but are not nearly as green as Gray Wisp appears to be. ( I looked online as have not used it personally). I have 3 free downloads you receive instantly when you sign up to stay in touch. Here is the link, one of the free downloads is all about undertones of 15 Benjamin Moore Grays. This should help! --> clairejefford.com/ccd-freebies/
Question re the client's lounge that you use edgecomb gray with gray cashmere....I don't see edgecomb gray in the photo. Where is it? The walls look like the gray cashmere or am I seeing it wrong?
That client's project was still underway while filming this video, so I was showing you a moodboard with the furnishings and finishes that we used for that space.
Planning to paint our wood cabinets...we have Cambria Windermere countertops. Which color would you recommend for the cabinets? Lighting in the kitchen is ok, not too light or dark? Thank you.
Hi Raul. I would look to pull out the green in that counter using something like Edgecomb Gray, Revere Pewter, Pashmina or even more green like Rockport Gray or Sandyhook Gray. You need to check all of these colours with the counter, I am simply going by what I see on the screen.
There are many. Agatha you can see the ones I've listed in my Free Download called 'Fifteen Shades of Gray -Undertones Revealed' here --> clairejefford.com/ccd-freebies/
@@southfloridagirl5112 Love Balboa Mist! We just photographed a client's main floor where we used this Benjamin Moore colour throughout. It turned out lovely!
Looking to use Edgecome Gray as a main hallway entrance and main color with SW pure white Trim. Would one of these darker grays work as a first floor door color with dark hardware?
Hi I am painting my east facing hallway in edgecomb Gray my front door and Kendall charcoal I am looking for a contrasting off-white that will blend edgecomb gray with the Kendall charcoal and the adjoining dining room which is Stonington Gray. I'm currently debating on glacier white or Swiss coffee which color in your opinion would go best with the edge comb and Kendall door? I have paint swatches up but I am so indecisive and can't really choose I feel like glacier white might be too light and almost look white in the early morning East rising sunlight. But I also feel that Swiss coffee may appear to yellow.
I suggest hiring a professional colour expert or consultant at a local paint store who can look at all your finishes/proposed colours together and best guide you from there.
I ended up with a Rosemary door and it looks very nice with white dove and redwood stained front steps. Lots of earthy tones. Just can’t decide where to take the shutters - natural tan, edgecombe gray, farrow and ball’s French gray. Do you have an opinion?
Yes. I don't get caught up in which direction a room faces unless it's south facing and someone wants yellow -then I let them know it's going to be really bright!
If I have luxury vinyl plank “wood” floors with a very subtle pink undertone, should I avoid something like Edgecomb Gray because it has a green undertone? If so, what undertone should I seek? Thanks!!
I bought those peel and stick colors, tried 7 different greys. I have a living room in a townhouse with very little natural lighting but does have recessed lighting. To me it looks green. Any thoughts?
Help! I want to use edgecomb gray for my kitchen with french vanilla cabinets and it is reading a little lavender and I am losing my mind...any other suggestions for colors? My cabinets are 15 yrs old and I really think they need to be painted a soft white that is less yellow, what would be my best bet? Thanks in advance!
Hi Meredith. You really need to be guided by your fixed elements, like counter tops, flooring and backsplash. Grab my free download on 5 steps to choosing the right paint colour, it will help guide you --> clairejefford.com/ccd-freebies/
Just curious as to what color you ended up with? I also have “French Vanilla” and struggling to find a paint color that compliment each other. TIA for your time!
I have not 100% decided but I do like the edgecomb gray with the cabinetry. I did large swatches and was “living with it” so I don’t make a mistake I regret! Good luck it is not easy with vanilla cabinets & unfortunately Claire’s tutorial really didn’t guide me.
New subscriber here as of today. I’ve enjoyed a few of your videos so far. I love the Edgecomb Gray but I see that you pair it with whites. Which wood-like colors would coordinate if I wanted to paint my beams in that room a dark tone? I have an enormous living room with a vaulted, beamed ceiling and skylights. it’s a bright Southeast room... and every bit of it is presently a flat white. Furnishings are a deep avocado green. Brick hearth has brown/blonde bricks. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.
Hi Mary! If I understand you correctly, it sounds like you are looking for a dark brown tone or stain for your beams. It's a tricky question to answer without seeing the space. Take a look at Benjamin Moore Kendall Charcoal and Wrought Iron. They are beautiful dark tones that would work with Edegcomb Gray. Thanks for watching and good luck!

Claire, can you advise on the undertones of BM Nimbus and London Fog please? Can’t wait to see more of your videos!
