2:20 Fantatic Xenophobe = Xenophile, because I can't do them there words all that well. A quick note is that the mic is a little too sensitive in this first video, of all the testing I had done apparently that was still a little off somehow! Not major but It will be better in future videos, getting new software for EVERYTHING takes a bit of getting used to haha! :D
Humble question/request - could you do one episode and go a little into how you develop planets / what buildings you decide to build / how you resettle pops and manage population and all that micromanagy stuff you normally cut out to tell a grand meta story? Would be appreciated :)
In case he doesn't reply, here's a good guide I followed nearly a year ago (should still be relevant) www.reddit.com/r/Stellaris/comments/a62b9a/more_tips_for_22/ I found myself ahead of everyone else economically earlier than usual after utilizing this guide. Just scroll down to the "planets" portion of the guide.
I like how it flips my whole gameplay loop. Usually I carefully craft an empire and give it a basic storyline to follow (like Protecting a Library Planet or being a xenophile trading company) and then get annoyed at having a bad starting location/terrible planets/terrible other empires like being a megacorp and all other players are hiveminds or megacorps. With random I just go were the generation carries me and end in unexpected ways.
The Imerpium of Floaty Boys. The Floaty Boy Regime. The Wholly Floaty Boy Empire. The Floaty Boys. The Republic of Floaty Boys. Floaty Boy Union. Floaty Boys United. Basically any name with floaty boys in it, tis a rather amusing name.

I'm not sure if you'[ve noticed that on relic worlds if you clear all the tile blockers you can use a planetary decision to rebuild it into an ecumenoplois for like 2000 minerals I think it is.
61st comment... another amazing video Lathland. I absolutely love stellaris and me and my father play it all the time, I'm so glad I found it and I have your videos to thank for it. Your skills and interesting gameplay taught me how to play and got me hooked so thanks and keep up the great work
Militaristic with no military... Yep, that's par for course with your previous playthroughs that I've noticed. Like, the bloodthirsty pacifists and the alien loving xenophobes.
For the longest time I thought that you had to be pacifist to be in or form a federation, but the Stellaris Twitter account confirmed this, you can have a militarist federation. I was a non-fanatic militarist who had two fanatic militarist empires next door. They formed a federation and invited me to it, however the federation didn't last long......
hey lathrix have you ever done a common problems or common mistakes video? ive been playing for a while now and done a few campaigns but i still struggle to reach the tech heights that you, aspec and a few other youtubers get to in the same time frame, takes me almost 3 times as long but in that time i never manage to obtain a decent fleet capacity to use any of the new tech also my influence tanks and my science output gets rediculous with tech blowing up to 60 months for low value research no matter how many research labs i put down on planets just want to know what ive done wrong and how i can fix it in future play throughs no doubt im probably doing some very common mistakes
I like to see future playthroughs have more AI Empires and/or higher hyperlane density. With the current settings, it just seems too easy for you to colonise 2 or 3 chokepoints and basically guarantee yourself quite a lot of systems.
PLEASE do another run where the empire wants the end-game crisis to win. (Your first and highly enjoyable attempt was cut short by one of the game updates.)
Neat trick if you want to get alloy's trade directly with the foreign Nations they will give you a better price for food and consumer goods to alloy's then buying them over the market
Noob question, since you (will) have 2 relic worlds. Is it worth it to restore them into ecumenopoli? The relic worlds have a malus on consumer product consumption, the restored ecumenopoli retain a 15% bonus to research, you don't need the ascension perk (and with two ecumenopoli I don't think you'll ever need it) and you save minerals on not having to build all the districts. You will lose 15% to research, some free job slots, the resources and whatever the 2nd relic world has as a unique feature, but the boost in industry this early seems tempting. Am I thinking this wrongly?
It is worth it, but far down the line - The Ecumenopolis takes rare resources to maintain it's districts now, similar to how the ringworlds now work with theirs, and more importantly It takes 20,000 minerals and 200 influence to begin converting the relic world to begin with which is far beyond our current grasp along with needing Anti-Gravity Engineering which is a tech we also don't have. Later on though it is 100% worth it as a fully populated Ecumenopolis is VERY powerful, even compared to a relic world! Just.. not now. :)
A long time I ago I decided to build a solid few habitats with warrior culture based on just getting duelists and that yeeted my naval capacity to quite a high.

Now this is epic
And Floaty bois would be a great empire name
Playing as a Random Empire are some of the most enjoyable games of Stellaris I've ever had.
I like how it flips my whole gameplay loop.
Usually I carefully craft an empire and give it a basic storyline to follow (like Protecting a Library Planet or being a xenophile trading company) and then get annoyed at having a bad starting location/terrible planets/terrible other empires like being a megacorp and all other players are hiveminds or megacorps.

floaty boys are for children, WE ARE THE FLOATY LADS
Hi Lathrix! Just commenting to let you know that I appreciate the wonderful content you give us. Keep up the good work!

Great to have you back! What an interesting start you have. Can't wait to see how this goes.
I am all in favour of them being named "floaty bois"
Nice; nothing wrong with a fresh start, lets you tackle things in new twists. Get hyped for the origin system for Stellaris!

I just imagine the relic world being battled over and it's own machinery collapsing into ruin, but still surviving the Great War.
Well done. Watching makes me think about playing again.
oh look the rubricator quest chain.

I agree. Floaty Bois. Also wow the game is feeling generous to you right now with those relic worlds.
