  • I'm finally finished! Over the last two years I've had the opportunity to sneak out of Alaska and go do trips on the Escalante River in Southern Utah. And now the piece is finally finished. Enjoy the adventure that claimed one Canon, two lenses, and one cell phone over the past two years. This was shot on my A7siii, which somehow made it out of the canyon mostly unharmed. The adventure starts at the Egypt Trailhead and concludes at Lake Powell with friends who who picked us up via houseboat.

Cool video, glad you had a great time. Please keep in mind drones are illegal in all national parks. Your First Responders thank you for your cooperation.

Beautiful video. Do you know what the guage was reading during your trip? How about the dates of the trip?

Great video! What model packrafts where each of you using and how heavy were your packs to start?

Thanks! We had twelve people on the trip with Alpacka and Kokopelli rafts ranging in year from 2016-2021. Some people had 50lb packs, I ended up bringing a lot of extra gear and camera equipment so mine ended up being somewhere above 75lbs

Any river jams of Russian olive? Nasty nasty stuff. I did the first portion of your route many years ago (Flickr/walksonrocks). Took out at Moody Canyon and looped around over the Circle Cliffs and descended Middle Choprock back down to the Escalante. Sketch hiking an undocumented route through cliffs and canyon, but so rewarding (and non-technical!)
You had a 75+ lb pack Oof.
