      Yeah that’s the unfortunate thing about this hobby and racing in general. I hoped that outlaw would develop but at a slower pace. We’ve already lost people due to the fact that hard work only gets you so far. Money takes you the rest of the way. I really enjoy the technology snd the racing and don’t mind being 3-4 fastest when I’m racing with some fast dudes. One who finished top 4 at a major race.

    So here I am in Cuenca, Ecuador, retired, bored and looking for something to do. Pool and poker and bingo just aren't cutting it. I've been a car guy all my life and when I saw the video on the Las Vegas RC race this year and the 25k payout the fire started to burn again. What the hell, I know that anything with a motor needs to be raced and that racing is not a hobby, it's a sentence, but I have never been as happy as when I was racing and anyway how tough can it be to race little cars that go 132 feet in 3 seconds? Well it didn't take long for the wakeup call to arrive and so for the last 3 months I've been trying to learn all I can about the incredible technologies that are available in RC drag racing. I've even reviewed the Laws of Motion in physics and the basics of electric circuits. So here it is: When I saw the graph of the tune you developed to make the 2.10 pass I knew just what you had done. Bravo Chad, you've made it to the uppermost echelon of an amazing sport and you deserve all the success that's coming to you. I have one question. Did you input to the M17 and the Mamba X the mechanical parameters of your system and the final result you wanted and then wait to see if the car could develop the power and traction necessary to run the tune that Sanwa and Castle came up with? Or do I have to continue with the physics and electrical calculations and figuring out how to make the number of revolutions the tires will have to make at what constant acceleration in order to go 132 feet jn 2.0 seconds?

    One month ago you said buy the Futaba 7pxr for $694 because of its programability.
    Next you said, buy the Maclan DRK if you want to go fast.
    Couple weeks later, you said, buy the Castle monster 8s to go fast.
    Then now you say, buy the $600 Sanwa M17 or lose.
    If I followed everything you said in just the past 1 month, I’d have spent about $3,000 on “stuff,” and put more than $2,000 of it into retirement already to try something else.

    If G force is being determined by the Samwa and/or the esc it can only be by the use of Ohm's law and simply stated that means that a decreasing resistance value and/or an increasing current value can be used to generate a "peddling" response, Right? A loss of traction would be detected and an appropriate correction would occur and maximum acceleration would be adjusted. Right? I think the focus would then center on eliminating and/or controlling negative issues knowing that the system will handle the end result. Right?

    • @Dorkyand40
      @Dorkyand40  2 роки тому

      The data logs on the esc are what you need to look at to see wheel spin. You’ll see crazy spike on rpm and voltage. But if the gnss was a better device I would stand behind your theory.

    i dont understand ~ ur point is set to 10% but ur curve starts at 32% so do the ramp start at 10% or 32%? ~ i do speed runs i am new to drag racing.

      Jeff explains that in his full video he made on Facebook live but I can try. It seems like the point in the speed setting is where you want ramping to begin but the actual curve starts in the 30s. So you’re fine tuning the entire ramp so if point was set to 20 and p1 to 35 then you would have a narrow ramp and more aggressive at the bottom since your ramping from 20 vs 10 and it would reach 100 faster. He goes on to explain that when you can run a point above 20 then to drop the ramp say from -95 to -94 and point back to 1 and start all over again and work point back up but leave the curve intact or adjust in increments of 1 or 2 each point.

      That I don’t know. I watch those speed run guys and they all seem to use futaba. But they also modify the antenna too. I suppose you could do that with sanwa
