Love your coverage Das! I've been keeping Xenonauts 2 on the backburner so this was a nice view while I'm busy with life. Loved the early games I got to play, even with the placeholder stuff in places.
Its so cute to see the Russian developers love of the MiG-25 Foxbat and 31 Foxhound (the origin of the movie Firefox btw , the West was terrified of this aircraft until a pilot defected with one and we realized it was a paper tiger). I really loved how in X-Division mod you could build MiG-21s as well, always wished a mod would come out with several types of fighters for various countries with different stats, and REALLY sad to see they removed the F-16s. Perhaps one day someone will redo the aircraft mod and add a bunch.
I played a lot of Xenonauts 1 this fall and enjoyed it a lot. I'm looking forward to 2 in the future and will be watching for your content on the new edition in the future.
I actually got recommended your video so yes your philosophy in the first 2 min is paying off, I get to see what you care to actually share and reach with.
I’ve found that the Xenonauts 2’ Geoscape implementation becomes a lot more predictable and its “hidden patterns” are easier to spot, kinda braking the illusion and the immersion of “playing against a human like intelligence behind the aliens” compared to the original XCOM
I only recommend you use more grenades whenever possible to soft them up, and keep in mind to not overextend your soldiers like there can be an enemy at each corner
Just gonna say, i rarely watch lets plays and much orefer videos like this that keep me up to date with the state of games, tactics, strategies etc and new gmes coming up
also a little help worth mentioning is that if you have a few alloys to spare there is a bit of money to be made from making lets say 6x accelerated machineguns and selling 5 of them earning a bit of cash until the prize drops below the cost of making it
Think everything crafted is half the price of crafting it, unless there is an exception for guns, but also even if it pays a little, time on workshops is way more important now
32:35 It’s been a while since I played X2, but there used to be an option in game settings to change the rotation “amount”, so that instead of 90 degrees, each click does 45 or a lower value, which I vaguely seem to recall was 30 degrees rather than the 22.5 one would expect. Did they remove that feature?
Wait what? Not playable through to the end? I've only played Xenonauts 1 but I've heard a lot of bad press on 2, so I didn't pick it up. Is it still in Early Access or was it like a Sean Murray release?
As a player of both I am really pleased with X2 so far. It's got some great missions and the dev team are taking feedback well but still keeping to their vision but with small tweaks. It's not finished yet, but I like it a lot. I've played 20+ hours. I also backed the Kickstarter and felt their communication was solid.
really like watching this series, i think that when you tried to throw the grenade and it showed 0%/0% to hit is a small bug, i had that a few times myself, each time i had that i managed to remove it, not sure how thou. will report back when i find out
Not sure why Let's Plays damage your channel, I personally like them but it would seem I'm in the minority. I guess it might have to do with how long they can run as a series, This game is great and I can't wait for it to be finished. I'm also looking forward to Zehpon! I couldn't get enough of those Demo's.
Basically, the average "Let's play X game, episode Y" won't be as eye catching as his normal videos, and usually only the people who also caught episode (Y - 1) will be interested in the new episode. This means the algorithm will downrank his channel, and will stop promoting interesting news videos to anyone but his core let's play audience. You're only as popular as your least viewed videos with the algorithm the way it is.
MonstersAbound, created second chanel, with 12 letsplay videos being on the main and the rest are uploaded on the Second Chanel, to fight UA-cam algorithm.
I'm just still not feeling the magic from this game. You know why? Its shockingly simple. You just keep fighting human enemies. You can call them greys or slendermen or whatever, but when they're just human sprites, it's humans. Where are the aliens? This was the WORST part of otherwise great XCOM mods like Total Modpack etc, where the first 100 hours was just fighting human rebels.
Imagine being angry about this in a game where the Soviet Union still exists, the cold war never ended and you are in the middle of an alien invasion. All stats and characteristiscs are random.
"Okay i took a bit of damage here"
Everyone in the squad that almost died sometime during the mission: :(

You play all the games I'm interested in, from KSP 2 and Shadow Empire to this, which I was interested in buying but reviews held me back.

When your shield guy lost his shield, he could pick up a cleaner weapon or sniper could lend him a regular pistol.

The new armor management is just so much better
Used to enjoy your Playlist

why would you expect 22.5? 45 gives 2 turns per 90 degrees and 30 gives three, why would it jump to 4?
@@doltBmB Every step twice as fine-grained.
Damn lucky bro, you got all your 3 soldiers back? I ve lost 4 yet only one of mine got reanimated during the campaign lol

Are you using mods? Are there mods anyway?^^
Which would you advice?

My question for this game is 'How is it different than X-Com? Love your channel Das.

Times you out again..... LAME
the female soldier ratio is way overboard.... feels like a fantasy game. the game overall did good progression though.
It's just random.

@FireyKanata
What did you prove by coming to show people like me how virtuous you are? Go join the military or something and be useful
Alien invasion? No problem. Female presence? Totally breaks the suspension of disbelief.
@@danjal87nl Saying they shouldn't be 50% is one thing. Saying there shouldn't be any female soldiers at all is BS.
Xenonauts 1 was TRASH 😠! Hopefully the devs learned & made Xenonauts 2 better.
