- This is one of many behind the scenes moments in the documentary "Play Normally!", available as a DVD at epistrophypictu.... There are a couple of others that are hysterically funny. One of them is about how Roy once auditioned for Jeff Beck & Mick Jagger and how he forced them on their knees!

She's so cute!!! ❤
I think you are referring to their 'Soap Factory' appearance in which Debbie wore a skin tight blue satin number with holes cut in it. 'Heart of Glass' was the song they mimed through. BTW, I received my copy of 'Blondie Live' last week. Thanks, Hal. It is amazing!!
Debbie is always cool and demure. Xo
P.S.- It was Heart of Glass that I saw them play.
You know, it must have been American Bandstand. I'm sure it wasn't Merv Griffen or Mike Douglas. I was too young to stay up and watch Burt Sugarman's "Midnight Special".
It's ironic that Roy immediately started talking about Dick Clark. It think he must have known all along.
Debbie seemed to be the queen at the table. Love to have been dining with them.
I'm embarrassed to admit that I appear to have been wrong. It is my voice insisting that I saw Blondie on Soul Train but I've just checked their website. Blondie just isn't listed. It was very kind of Debbie not to argue with me even though I was wrong.
BUT, I'm positive that I saw them on a "live" TV show in early 1979 that had an audience. I don't know whether there was live playing or miming but I'm sure it wasn't the video shot in Studio 54. Does anyone know what it was?
