This is something I think would fool a lot of people. Most would assume that because Goku's fights often last so long, he's close to even with his opponent, but really, Goku just draws out fights that he could easily win by just going all out right away. Fighting is his favorite thing in the world, and curbstomping people isn't fun (for him). This, combined with his tendency to spare everyone, are sometimes his biggest flaws.
Could be that but also it's likely because Goku was a newly transformed super Saiyan for the first time when he fought Frieza. At this point trunks has trained for several months with using super Saiyan form. He's likely a good bit stronger than Goku was at the end of the namek Arc
# 001 Well if wasn't for the fact that Goku trained on Yardrat, the Zenkai boost from the recovery alone would most likely put Goku on Par with Trunks (Goku would have to use way more than his finger to parry Trunks's sword in the spar) And even so, Goku would still have the advantage over Trunks because of his vast experience in fighting. The last power level to be stated in the show is 2nd form Freeza's one million. Freeza's 100% power being 120 million is from the Daizenshuu books, as Super Saiyan Goku's initial power being 150 million. Speaking of, I don't get why people say based on that that Super Saiyan is a 50x power multiplier, when it was a completely exhausted Goku and heavily damaged whose power level was boosted to 150 million by Super Saiyan. The Super Saiyan form doesn't heal the user, and is itself a drain on the user's energy. People seem to agree that 100% Freeza's 120 million wasn't actually Freeza's max because he was weakened from the damage he took from the Spirit Bomb right before hand, but they go on to say that if Freeza could have used his actual max he might have been stronger than Super Saiyan Goku, as if Goku wasn't also exhausted and heavily damaged at that point.

13:30 Despite the young appearance, Chaotzu is an adult. An actual adult but more dwarf than Krillin. Chaotzu was in the original Dragon Ball series and yet he still looked like that.
To answer your question at around 4:45 Mecha Freeza is stronger than he was on Namek, but Trunks is just more powerful because he had training in the future and stood a small chance against the androids, but I think Goku is still more powerful when he gets to Earth.
That's true. Frieza was strong, but trunks was stronger. It's scary to think that goku was even stronger than trunks. Imagine if the goku that just landed on earth had to fight with Frieza on namek? It would be a royal beat down
Golen or blonde depends on how much power SSJ is using now. Lighter means he's calm/relaxed and is not using much, golden is when SSJ fully powered up and aura is in full effect. That's how it used to be, but now in dbs it's mostly just golden at all times.
@@larrylobster9174 Meanwhile Gohan directly states Trunks as a Super Saiyan is AS powerful as Goku was on Namek, so you know...... plot holes everywhere, cause Toriyama can't keep his stories straight at all.
The Saiyan Saga showed how advance alien technology is compared to Earth's and I find it funny that Mecha-Freeza is not as advance or powerful as the Androids, Earth made beings.
One of the creators of the show, I think it's KaiserNeko, the one who voices Trunks, always insists on Freeza being spelled F-R-E-E-Z-A, which is how it is in the original manga. The 'Frieza' spelling is a dub creation. So it's ironic that Kaiser is the voice of Future Trunks in this series.
I might get this wrong, been long since i watched original: -King Cold did nothing as Trunks was that fast that Cold had no way to react in time -King Cold did ask for Trunks sword, suspecting that IT was reason Trunks was that powerful and tried to use its "power" to take down Trunks. Trunks most likely suspected why he asked sword and played along. Second Hand information, likely false: -Chauzu and Tien are not humans in manga, Chauzu is Vampire (and likely reason for his young look and small stature) and Tien is three-eyed humanoid species (this might have been original idea, as its possible that Tien is just person who train so much mentally that he opened his 3:th eye that all people could open)
I believe Chiaotzu is “Jiangshi” from Chinese mythology. You could call them vampires, but they’re more like zombies. I suggest you watch “Mr.Vampire”. It’s a Hong Kong movie about Jiangshi, it’s a Chinese classic and a major part of my childhood. Also I believe Tien is half human and half alien which is why he has three eyes? Though I don’t quite remember where I heard this.
While that was the original inspiration, the fact is that has never been offically confirmed. And since they aren't likely to get any story elements focused on them...
At this point, Trunks has been a super saiyan for around 3 years. So it makes sense he made light work of Frieza, compared to Goku's fight. It's also just his attitude towards fighting. He doesn't care to see how strong his enemy is or have a fun fight. Trunks just gets to the point.
Super Saiyan hair is actually supposed to be glowing gold at all times. The show was made by old traditional cel animation, which would have been a layering nightmare to have it constantly glowing during fights. So the games actually are closer to the intended lore by having it constantly glowing.
In the Manga his name was spelled "Freeza". But for the Anime they either respelled or misspelled his name as "Frieza". It's been a small debate amongst DBZ fans for years. But it's not that strong since it's one of few you can easily Google.
I was expecting a bigger reaction to the Lion King reference, tbh, especially when you made the "it looks like a sun" comment.... This is one of my favorite episodes, between Trunks, the fight, and all the shade being thrown at Vegeta between the characters and the random phrases on the back of his shirt.
If I remember right, Trunks Power Level was on Par with Goku's back then. The difference is that Trunks doesn't really wait for his opponents to power up. He usually just tries to end the fight then and there. Also, yes in the Manga/Subs "Frieza," is actually spelled "Freeza." King Cold (Freeza's Dad) didn't do anything because he thought his son had it all under control.
To answer your question, in the original Dragonball manga; Mecha Freeza was stated to be stronger than when he was fully organic. I believe his power level went from almost 2 million to like 6 million. In all actuality though he was just there to foreshadow the androids and to show that they were much more powerful than anything we had ever seen.
@@fjparasite1172 he probably wants to look taller than his kids XD, since instead of a power boost that comes with training like all other forms in DBZ, Arcosian's transformations are unique, as they're innate(at least the canon ones) and made to surpress their immense power, it's like a limiter that the place upon themselves, it's quite probably he can transform too, at least to the "final form" since it's said that it is an Arcosian actual true look and their most known apparences(like first form) are just these power surpressing shells and btw, every single transformation their own advantages, I love to think about the reasons as to why every Arcosian chooses a certain stage to make their "base form", I believe Freeza always stays on the weakest form bc he likes to see his enemies slowly falling into despair as he just keeps gets more and more powerful, King Cold probably stays on his second form because he wants to look tall, and Cooler(if you want to consider him canon) most likely always stays on the final form because it's powerful and allows for a quick win against any enemy, and unlike his secret transformation it probably doesn't tire him. Freeza: likes causing terror Cold: likes being the biggest in the room Cooler: likes being as quick and efficient
Chiaotzu looked the same in OG DB and has been dead a lot, so not only is he short, he spent some time not aging because he's in Otherworld. I like the jokes where he acts like a child though, they basically turned it into a running gag.
The thing about the hair color being the whitish gold is just an art style they went with. Later on especially in the buu saga that's when the hair color is more golden. Plus early on the hair of the super saiyans is more like giant clumps of hair with hardly any details but then later they're way more detailed. Also Toriyama in an interview said that he liked drawing the super saiyans cause he didn't have to color the hair in like he does in their base forms
So about the hair color of ssj: The more white version is way closer to the original idea of toriama. In an interview he stated that he wanted a way to convey to the reader that goku had grown way more powerful as well as making the drawing process easier for him. Before he had to ink his hair black in every panel so in ssj he just left it white. Over the years i think he also shifted to a more golden version but he was never known for beeing entirely consistent so take that as u will.
Goku's actually stronger then Trunks, and Mecha Frieza is stronger then 100% Frieza. Going Super Saiyan doesn't magically heal all wounds. When Goku transform on Namek he was beaten up, nearly out of energy, and was as weak as Super Saiyan could possibly be. Trunks was able to dominate Frieza because he was fresh and at full strength, able to show off what a Super Saiyan is really capable of,
Yeah, but Frieza was also quite injured when Goku turned into SSJ, especially after tanking a super spirit bomb. And from what I remember Frieza raising his power to 100% also don't heal his wounds either. The thing is, Goku probably wasn't fighting giving it his all, that's probably because he wanted to humiliate Frieza, so he didn't want to give Frieza a quick and effective defeat like Trunks did here. Also, when Goku returns to Earth he is stronger than when he defeated Frieza on Namek (we must not forget that he spent some time training in Yadrat and maybe also got a Zenkai boost after being healed), one of the reasons why he was stronger than Trunks when he returns to Earth.
Official Frieza has an 'i' in his name. TFS Freeza doesn't. Also, the intro was done by Freeza, and then King Cold, and they both meet their ends this episode. And yes, Frieza is more powerful in his mecha form (or that's what they said in the anime). But both Goku and Trunks perfected the Super Saiyan Form, so they're much stronger than Goku on Namek. Btw, you missed Goku's "Pizza" at 6:27.
Freeza is spelled Freeza but for whatever reason in the dub they changed the spelling to Frieza even though it's an obvious pun on Freezer. Chaozu I guess is human, his design is based off this weird Chinese vampire doll. In the series he's been around for 10+ years and I don't think he has grown at all. He and Goku throughout the whole series have never spoken to eachother.
So... wowie zowie, I'm only like 6 months late to the party but!!! Super Saiyan hair color: It's sorta hard to explain exactly what the color is supposed to be, but I do believe it's supposed to be a mostly white color with bits of gold. The reason why you always see it as that deep yellow color in games is because the games typically portray their hair color as seen when they have a visible aura around them. They don't alternate it back and forth based on whether they have a visible aura. Think of how the Kaio-ken makes Goku turn red because of his aura. The Super Saiyan aura reflects off their already whiteish yellowish hair color and turns it into a deep yellow. In the show, you'll see them have that same deep yellow hair color whenever they have a visible aura around them.
1- They call/pronounce/write his name as Freeza in the japanese dub, but they call him Frieza in the english material, no idea why. Same with how Tenshinhan is called Tien Shinhan in the english dub. 2- When King Cold's science division were rebuilding Freeza, they said that he'll be able to utilize power levels beyond his Full Power form, thus making Mecha Freeza much stronger than before. It's just that, Goku had already just attained Super Saiyan, while Trunks had 3 years to train with it himself, hence why he's this strong, as well as how Goky after a year of training on Yardrat is also able to keep up. 3- The reason Super Saiyan hair is bleach yellow in the anime compared to stock gold in games; anytime you see someone emitting an aura around them is them raising their Ki/Power Level hence the intense coloration for it, and once transformed and instead of continuously having the aura "on" and wasting Ki, they turn it off and are left with that bleached hair color. In the games it's just easier to have the aura always on or the hair color be in one shade so you won't have to code much ambient lighting and the like.
The Super Saiyan hair is usually more gold when their aura is active, when their aura isn't active it's usually more of a pale blond than a golden blond, but in the super and games it's always golden blond, I think it's just the art style at the time.
Super sayian is just a power multiplier. I believe it multiplies 50 times whatever their base power is. So training in base gives you the most gains when you turn super sayian
4:36 Frieza is far stronger... it's just that he STILL isn't as strong as Super Saiyan Goku. Put it this way... if this was a JRPG, on Namek, SSJ Goku would be lvl 40, Frieza would be lvl 30, here, Frieza is would be lvl 35. So... stronger but still not strong enough.
To answer the freeza power level question, yes he is more powerful as a mecha, but trunks is more experienced in being a super saiyan that goku was so Freeza just gets outclassed.
The difference in the "shininess" of their hair was basically because of the time amount they had to draw the character frame by frame. and found it easier to have it be more white and brighter. wasn't until the games start rolling out that SSJ hair became more gold and shinier.
Though we spell it “Frieza” or at least how the English dub spelled it… we pronounce it “Freeza” because it is a play on the the word “freezer”. Hence why Goku in the abridged series calls him that. So technically “Freeza” would be the better spelling. Mecha Freeza was indeed stronger than when he was in Planet Namek. With Trunks finishing both him & King Cold easily, then warning others of the Androids made the threat of the Androids more serious. Because if he could defeat Freeza & his father, but struggled immensely against the droids, then it makes sense for him to ask for their help.
I recently found out you were reacting to this and just caught up! (And subscribed. 😀) Really enjoyed your Kakarot playthrough and reaction to DBZ. I'm glad you're liking the series! While I love the series as a whole, season 3 is when things really step up in terms of production value. TFS had been at it for a long time and this season has the most polish and (arguably) the best writing. Some of the voice work I actually prefer over the original and the pacing and balance of comedy and dramatic moments is really good. Also I'm happy you don't seem to be having a big problem with strikes and claims. Several reaction channels have fought either with Toei, music companies or distributors. Including TFS themselves unfortunately. That along with burnout eventually made them stop creating the series, but they're still putting out shorts even if they don't plan to make another season. Looking forward to the next episode!
Chioutzu is a vampire. This is not a joke, he is actually a vampire. The sun doesn’t hurt him because his Ki is in perfect balance. It’s a Chinese mythology thing.
There's a lore reason why the hair is yellow at times and golden at times. Yellow means low Ki. Golden means high Ki. Damn wrecked completely. No mercy.
This frieza is basically still untrained and just resurrected with mechanical parts. More to have him to live than buffing him like the cyborgs. Meaning even the basic of ssj can delete him XD

Technically, Freeza is stronger in his Mecha form. Trunks is just stronger then Goku was on Namek. So it doesn't really matter. As for their hair in SSJ form, it's supposed to be technically blonde instead of gold. So when they don't have their aura around them, it doesn't look dark gold. Look at them with and without their aura. You'll see what I mean.
To explain power levels: the assumption is that freeza’s dad is slightly stronger than his 100% buff form, however mecha freiza is significantly stronger than he was on namek hence why he believed he could beat super saiyan goku
It's been confirmed that Frieza has always been stronger than King Cold (in interviews for Resurrection F and Broly), since he was born in fact, which was the reason Cold handed control of his army to Frieza despite Frieza being rather young at the time. The anime had some of the Z warriors mention that Cold had a higher power level (before they arrived on Earth), but it was also noted by Gohan (in the manga at least) that Frieza was suppressing his own power (which could be in part why Trunks was able to kill him so quickly in the manga, the anime extended the fight quite a bit).
The funny part is that the slash and all that was cut out of the dub version of the show. All they showed originally was trunks slicing frieza while only showing trunks and then the blast was immediate so you couldnt see anything
not true, they showed the slash and everything,, oh rather it just depended on where you watched DBZ, some channels censored it, and some just showed every little uncensored detail
The English anime and manga translations romanize the name (Hepburn "Furīza") differently. Funimation went with "Frieza" and the manga went with "Freeza."

Freeza is actually stronger here than on Namek. Regarding how Goku shows up and is so much stronger than he was on Namek, its a combination of his training on Yardrat, the fact that he was basically half dead upon transforming to Super Saiyan the first time, having spammed Kioken and getting beat down by Freeza, and since at full power he was at 3 million it can be assumed he was somewhere potentially around half of that (or less seeing as he could barely stand). Basically based on somewhat recent interviews with Toriyama, and people thinking more deeply into it, Goku transforming into super saiyan and being above Freezas 120-150 million power level even when weakened, potentially means that Super Saiyan is a much bigger multiplier than we used to think (Also Toriyama said he personally felt it was 10x stronger than Gokus Kioken x20). Basically, the reason he beats king cold and freeza in trunks timeline is because lowballing a healthy Goku here with these calculations he has a powerlevel of minimally 600 million... Freeza is stated at around 200 million in his Mecha form, and Cold somewhere similar. Plus Gokus training on Yardrat greatly increased his power, so they kinda get slapped. Of course, theres so much conflicting confirmation that it really means nothing, but going of what the man in charge said, as opposed to some of the semi-offical guides, Goku is INSANELY stronger than Freeza either way.
Dark fact: there is a darker version of the Yamacha k*lling himself joke in the darker version you hear his floating transforming Cat friend say "Yamaha, can I stop being the rope now ?"
The joke about Freeza/Frieza having an I/not having an I is based around different spellings and translations that have been passed around. Genuinely don't know what's actually "correct"
Of all known Saiyans, Trunks is my favourite. He doesn't have the thirst for batteling a strong opponent just for fun like Goku oder to show, how powerful he is like his Father. Mecha freeza is implied to be a bit stronger… but trunks just doesn’t hold back like goku does.
@@BlazingInferno00 never thought of it but it’s possible
# 001 Well if wasn't for the fact that Goku trained on Yardrat, the Zenkai boost from the recovery alone would most likely put Goku on Par with Trunks (Goku would have to use way more than his finger to parry Trunks's sword in the spar)

I believe it is stated that 100% Frieza had a power level of 120 million, and Mecha Frieza had a power level of 150 million, the same as super saiyan Goku when they fought on Namek. Future Trunks was at least twice as strong as Mecha Frieza also.
@@devonm042690 i think they could only reach their 150 million and 120 million power level when using a super attack. They were fighting with way less than that by being exhausted

Because we've never seen, if I remember, a power level twice. If they check someone and say he's 'Power Level 1000', Then he will be Power Level 1000 at full top health, at full power, at half health, even if limbs are cut off, and even if near death, panting, and completely exhausted.
^ Because if it didn't work that way, A, why the FUCK would it even matter? B, realistically it never could work that way and the entire show is full of bullshit plotholes and Deus Ex, people don't want to admit that so go what the logic above. And C, I was originally used to scale people by the creator to go "This guy with this power level will always beat this guy with this power level, 100%, no matter what happens, cause his power level is higher. The Saiyan Saga showed how advance alien technology is compared to Earth's and I find it funny that Mecha-Freeza is not as advance or powerful as the Androids, Earth made beings.
I wasn't expecting another one so soon. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. ☺
This whole arc truly is the best of DBZA and peak Team Four Star in general 🌟
One of the creators of the show, I think it's KaiserNeko, the one who voices Trunks, always insists on Freeza being spelled F-R-E-E-Z-A, which is how it is in the original manga. The 'Frieza' spelling is a dub creation.
So it's ironic that Kaiser is the voice of Future Trunks in this series.
I might get this wrong, been long since i watched original:
-King Cold did nothing as Trunks was that fast that Cold had no way to react in time
-King Cold did ask for Trunks sword, suspecting that IT was reason Trunks was that powerful and tried to use its "power" to take down Trunks. Trunks most likely suspected why he asked sword and played along.
Second Hand information, likely false:
-Chauzu and Tien are not humans in manga, Chauzu is Vampire (and likely reason for his young look and small stature) and Tien is three-eyed humanoid species (this might have been original idea, as its possible that Tien is just person who train so much mentally that he opened his 3:th eye that all people could open)
This whole introduction to Future Trunks is what made him my favorite character in DBZ as a kid
At this point, Trunks has been a super saiyan for around 3 years. So it makes sense he made light work of Frieza, compared to Goku's fight.
It's also just his attitude towards fighting. He doesn't care to see how strong his enemy is or have a fun fight. Trunks just gets to the point.
Mecha frieza is technically supposed to be slightly stronger, its just that trunks was stronger then goku was on namek
Super Saiyan turns a whitish yellow when one has a mastery over it. It starts gold
4:23 Trunks has seen FAR more advanced cybernetics created by an earth scientist.
If I remember correctly, the pink shirt originally said "BAD MAN" I guess thats why they are memeing about it
It shows the absolute UPSCALE. Remember King Cold is in "Second Form" so how strong could he have been?
This entrance of trunks would forever be goated. He immediately became one of my fav characters right after this.
So in the original Japanese translation a Frieza was spelled Freeza, and at some point funimation changed it to Frieza
If I remember right, Trunks Power Level was on Par with Goku's back then. The difference is that Trunks doesn't really wait for his opponents to power up. He usually just tries to end the fight then and there.
Also, yes in the Manga/Subs "Frieza," is actually spelled "Freeza."
King Cold (Freeza's Dad) didn't do anything because he thought his son had it all under control.
Bruh I just love that you can hear Goku's voice saying pizza after Frieza saw Trunk's eyes.
King Cold would be a problem, if he had the time or ability to transform like Frieza or Cooler
Until this day we don't know if he can't transform or just likes that form being bigger and more intimidating for his minions.
@@fjparasite1172 he probably wants to look taller than his kids XD, since instead of a power boost that comes with training like all other forms in DBZ, Arcosian's transformations are unique, as they're innate(at least the canon ones) and made to surpress their immense power, it's like a limiter that the place upon themselves, it's quite probably he can transform too, at least to the "final form" since it's said that it is an Arcosian actual true look and their most known apparences(like first form) are just these power surpressing shells
and btw, every single transformation their own advantages, I love to think about the reasons as to why every Arcosian chooses a certain stage to make their "base form", I believe Freeza always stays on the weakest form bc he likes to see his enemies slowly falling into despair as he just keeps gets more and more powerful, King Cold probably stays on his second form because he wants to look tall, and Cooler(if you want to consider him canon) most likely always stays on the final form because it's powerful and allows for a quick win against any enemy, and unlike his secret transformation it probably doesn't tire him.
Freeza: likes causing terror
Cold: likes being the biggest in the room
Cooler: likes being as quick and efficient
Chiaotzu looked the same in OG DB and has been dead a lot, so not only is he short, he spent some time not aging because he's in Otherworld.
I like the jokes where he acts like a child though, they basically turned it into a running gag.
The other reason I assume is because he’s supposed to be a Jiangshi (Chinese zombie). Dragon Ball pulled a lot from folklore for its chary
@Martin Toledo oh really? People keep saying it's a TFS thing.
I gotta be honest, trunk's super saiyan hair here was always my favorite looking super saiyan form of the series.
The Super Saiyan hair is usually more gold when their aura is active, when their aura isn't active it's usually more of a pale blond than a golden blond, but in the super and games it's always golden blond, I think it's just the art style at the time.
you were talking while the flashback of super sayan goku appeared where he looks like he says Freezer but... he really says pizza xD
Plot twist: Piccolo was changing the words on his clothes just to troll him.
at 3:18 one of the soldiers looks like jeice! how have i not recognized that?!!
Freeza is the same strength he was at Namek, Trunks has had a lot more time training with super sayain
Chiaotzu - get this - is 42 years old. He hasn't visibly aged since OG Dragonball where he was older than Krillin and Goku. F**king anime, man.
I love the part when Trunks Screams in side him XD 12:27

They settle the fate of the world through one-on-one death matches. How are you not on board with this yet? lol

Trunks: *AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH*

He still wants to become stronger, but only to protect people better. It's kinda sad, that they never told him the position of New Namek so he could ask the Namekians to use their Dragonballs to revive everyone his timeline lost.
I don’t know if you’ve already recorded the next episode, but Episode 34 is probably my favorite abridged episode.
32 to 34 are some of my absolute favourites
34 is a great example of the show taking setup and filler and making more entertaining than should be possible.

0:15 - Goku: I call him Aluminum Freezer.
The pausing is fine. It's better than missing jokes and scenes because you're asking questions or, you know, reacting.
