Thank you for this great comparison.
Now I know again why I'm driving a Subaru Forester.
Actually Kia did very well to 🙂
Kia did way better than I thought it would, it really locks those brakes to transfer power.
thanks I've been waiting for a while for a test of the sportage hev awd, which seems to be much better than the toyota rav4 hybrid.
It isn't better than the RAV4 hybrid ...
@@Eugen-E Rav4 hybrid: ua-cam.com/video/YvNaiXzdtnM/v-deo.html
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers rav4 hybrid overall is a better car than sportage hybrid :) Why didn't you put this link ? : ua-cam.com/video/kBaaM5ECZ1k/v-deo.html
@@Eugen-E the rav4 cannot get off the rollers with only 1 rear wheel pushing.
the rav4's system works differently the rear wheels are not connected to the front wheels they just have a weak electric motor for the rear wheels in real off road testing it is weak.
@@Eugen-E I didn't put this link cause this is not hybrid Rav4.
Subaru's AWD improved a lot this year
This year?
@@4x4.tests.on.rollersYES
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers BUT MY FAMILY HAVE 2012 SUBARU FORESTER SH5
@@RayRay40613 I don't see any improvement. They were always almost perfect in that compartment.
@@RayRay40613 There were no improvements this year.
Wow from Subaru I expected it but Kia also did very well! Really impressed with its performance!
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers
2.0 NA e-boxer (hybryd).
The AWD settings are the same as in your video.
Actually, mine is white as well :)
Subaru great!
What's EPS off??
Electronic Stability Programme off. During these tests it usually results in no cut of engine power.
Pozdrawiam!
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers W najtrudniejszym teście Subaru spędził 2-3 razy mniej czasu na rolkach niż Kia.
why turn tcs off on the kia? ofc its gonna do ass, open diffs an open diff. i wana see the subaru's abs fuse pulled.
shame subaru doesn't have lsds on the rear anymore anyhow, but with tcs being so good at what it does, I don't blame them.
To check if it really goes off.
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers o word thats a really good test actually
ig the new subarus don't let you even have the choice
I want to see the test on an incline

Kia awd is great again.
For some reason more than a decade and Hyundai/Kia still struggle with their AWD system.
Where do you see it struggle?
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers When on 3 rollers Kia struggles quite a lot in Snow mode (when one front wheel has traction) and in the other modes (when one rear wheel has traction). Moreover, you can hear some really strange sounds coming from that Kia at 10:50 and 11:40. It's not a good AWD system for heavy snow...but it's like all the other competitiors in this segment.
@@Eugen-E Snow modes are usually not designed for such challenges, they reduce torque so that's nothing unusual that it struggles - that's why there are other modes. Sand mode does great job. When it comes to sounds - we don't know if it is transmission, hybrid system or brake system. Definitely not a awd system itself
@@4x4.tests.on.rollers when one rear wheel had traction Kia struggled in all modes not just snow.
In the snow you want all 4 wheels to pull the car, not 3 or 2. The Forester passed the "one front wheel with traction test" without any modes. And I think it was about to pass the last test too without any modes. But because it was swinging it didn't pass it.
@@Eugen-E Both cars failed the last test in Snow mode - power was cut. If Forester could make it without any modes - it would make it. But it didn't. Both passed when no-power-cut was chosen but they did it in different way. Forester was spinning the wheels and slowly moving forward, Kia locked the system like there were diff locks and then moved forward.
As I mentioned before - manufacturers have different ideologies behind Snow modes, usually it designed for slippery surfaces, not digging in deep snow, sometimes it even starts from second gear. For digging in Snow Subaru has Deep Snow mode, Kia has Mud and Sand modes, Suzuki has Lock mode etc.
