Bonehead's explanation as to why he jumped is reallyy eye opening. I respect him and Guigsy for going when they did. I miss it, but I respect it.

These documentaries you make are mega, Fanmade films are more interesting than the officially released ones that bands do. Im loving that each one is a time capsule back in time about each individual album and the focus on that particular album itself. This is really what youtube is great for, People being able to make and showcase their own self made work. Keep it up mate.

For me this album represented the end of the that amazing flurry we had of great bands like Manics, Phonics, Pulp, Radiohead, Verve, and more. The mood of the Country seemed to change and the new flow of bands dried up. It hasn't been the same since the 90's :(

The major labels bought up all the indie labels, then when sales naturally started to go down after their peak they closed them all, leaving nothing behind to take their place.

I wish the best for Liam and Noel even if Oasis never reboots. It's best that the brothers stay healthy and happy with families and loved ones close. When and if they ever get together again, there's no doubt, that sound will return too... it's genetic....God Bless the Gallagher family!!!!

3:27 Noel stating how Gem has taken the pressure off Noel's lead guitar duties is, in my opinion, the biggest change their sound. From 2000 onwards Noel basically became rhythm guitarist and Oasis songs no longer had any era-defining riff or solos that would get crowds pumped. Gem is competent sure, but lacked the epic aspirational rock n roll lead guitar style that Noel was so good at in the 90s.

Noel wrote so many great songs in between BHN and HC. Only a few of them made SOTSOG album. If you dig around, then you can make a fantastic revised playlist of this album. It's also probably my favourite tour to listen to in retrospect (HC tour runs it close) ... The 90's shows were the best at the time of course, but looking back, shows like Wembley and Leeds from 2000 and Finsbury Park from 2002 are just FIRE.

@@ddavies9555this is what I’ve been trying to tell people since the dawning of the 2000’s. Noel had already put out his best songs. Now Oasis needed the best musicians after the original members decided to call it a day. Step in Gem and Andy - who were brilliant. Still blows my mind that the best guitar player in the band from 2000-2009 played the bass!

masterplan is the best song ever. Noel is the best songwriter ever. Noel is the best backing singer ever. He is up there with the best lead Singers. The edge is close as a backing Singer. Liam is up there as one of the best rock Singers. The chords that noel chose blow the minds of music theorists. As he said. Its about the melodies.

Oasis really were huge at one stage. I was at secondary school during their heyday and they were massive. At one stage Liam was the best front man in the world and Noel was the best song writer. Problem was they couldn't maintain it for long. 2 albums and they began to decline. Liam used to sound like a decent singer, then almost overnight he began to sound like a parody of himself and almost sounded comical. Noel's songs began to sound all the same. I personally felt they were over when Bonehead left

This is one of those funny albums that I can hate just as much as I love. Time has not been good to it (and the band even seem to distance themselves from it.... Noel just seems to bad mouth everything on it in that commentary dvd he did) but still has its place and it’s a good stepping stone between the madness of Be Here Now and the back to form Heathen Chemistry.

Here we are in 2023, Noel and Liam have done amazing things since the split, I would love to seem them retinite. Not start a band again but just talk and do interviews and stuff. Unfortunately I think it will take a family funeral for them to speak to each other

People forget oasis blew it themselves in terms of becoming the biggest band in the world since the Beatles in England they were for a bit and Europe were pretty much as well and big in America but not the biggest. They blew it and for some reason they sabotaged it maybe subconsciously they knew they’d probably end up dead if they did, things were crazy by knebworth time and only just off the dole. Only people I can think of that had that type of meteoritic rise to the top in recent ish times is kurt Cobain, Amy weren’t as big but did get a lot of press attention. Noel and Liam esp got more then them. It’s like they thought fucking hell this is to much let’s just release ‘be here now’ like that. Even though I like it, but with all the b side from the 1st two albums it could of been better then dm and wtsmg. Sosog still great but even that had other songs that should of been on there, no reason to have I can see a liar and money where ya mouth is on there. Ok songs but they’ve never been heard again it discombobulated the album and laxidasical so for some strange reason Noel forgot that your supposed to put your good songs on albums. Jeez imagine if he’d wrote live forever in 96 would he have just stuck that in a b side! Why not save don’t look back for album six as well eh me sabutuer!! Relegated master plan/half works away/acquiesce/cigs in hell/one way road/idlers dream/flashbax and on n in I could go even take me away is a top tune!! God knows what songs he’s got hidden away in his not good enough drawers now he’s not in a band he do t even have to play em no one! Bloody hell!! Never heard or seen anything like it in this music game! Just leaving classics out? Ridiculous

Oasis were always good. Remarkably consistent in a lot of ways, I think their mum got it right in that documentary. They scaled the heights too quickly, had nowhere to go but down- lost a bit of the hunger for greatness. Wish they were a bit more like Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, a slow climb up to institution-status- they had the tunes. The vibes were off.

@@K_wood perhaps it was done at soundcheck before a gig.....a lot of those were recorded by punters in the crowd who snuck in early. Bands tend to fuck around during those soundchecks, once the sound is dialed in on the songs they know they're going to play that night, they have some spare time to goof around and that's where the fun happens......playing songs off the cuff.

    Just my observation.
When both Bonehead and Guigs left they were worn down by the constant tension between Noel and Liam.
Also I agree Guigs was only a marginal bass player and he would never be able to handle the musical changes needed for Oasis to stay current and forward.
He didn’t seem to make an effort to improve his craft.
Bonehead was excellent, he just got utterly disgusted with the tension.

Gummy Bear I’ll never get why people said that bout oasis? Think it’s coz they compared themselves to the Beatles. U2,Coldplay,Radiohead,red hot chilli peppers, rem, the stones, verve, nirvana,Dylan, doors, led zeppelin, white stripes, guns n roses they all have there own sound and can tell it’s them 30 sec into a song. With oasis people complain bout it? Maybe it was to good of a sound?

Oasis was before Noel joined. I think they should reunite without Noel. Liam, Bone, Tony, Guigs, and Liams guitar player from his solo band. The tour would still be massive. Not as massive but we would all go see it still. Noel is a big giant baby egomaniac. Liam is Biblical.

They kinda did that already with Beady Eye which was basically the 2008 version of Oasis without Noel. Beady Eye was pretty good, but you can't reform Oasis without Noel, just as pertinent, you can't reform Oasis without Liam either. They're a package duo in terms of music and sound.
If you want the pre-Noel Oasis, you'd have The Rain....which I don't know if any recordings of that band were ever done. They were basically just a local Manchester bar band with a few originals back in 1991 or whatever. Liam & Bonehead are already getting on these days, you'd just have to get Tony & Guigsy back into fold. I don't think Guigsy has even touched a bass guitar since he left Oasis.

Why didn't you put scenes from Rock in Rio 2001? Oasis played before Guns N' Roses and audience wasn't much friendly with them. Besides, the show had highlights as the version of "Gas Panic" live, Liam getting to the stage, showing his "medium finger" to the camera and calling "Go Let It Out" of "Some Might Say". Don't you miss it?
