“Saying you don’t care about the right to privacy because you have nothing to hide is like saying you don’t care about free speech because you have nothing to say.” -Edward Snowden
Having nothing to hide do not help you when police, insurance company or any other who has power abuses their power and twists the data they have on you to fit their own paranoid fantasies. You would think that the data they have will be proof of your innocence and that might be true but the problem is the data will only be used as proof of guilt and not innocence... You have to get the proof of your innocence yourself and that can be impossible as you do not usually have access to the data they use against you...
Also the data they have will not be used to proof your innocence, that you have to do yourself which can be impossible as YOU do not get access to the data they have... In short words YOUR ARE SCREWED!!!
Rondo Cat and ? I wasn’t talking about that. I was simply quoting Edward Snowden.
Good grief. What is this "free speech" thing you're talking about?
@@ravnhaveland9594 What is colloquially known as 'free speech' was this thing due to which, for instance, a person telling a joke didn't risk a prison sentence and back then people were also expected to grow some proverbial balls at some point in their lives.

NordVPN isn't a trustworthy VPN, so having them as the sponsor would be quite ironic.
I just hope all the UA-camrs filling their pockets with NordVPN's money don't actually use it, after all it was already hacked more than once in the recent past. Unless you live in China, you'd be better off not using any.

North Korea seems private, they even shut off their whole power and isolate themselves
Thus keeping people in the dark = private. People are easily made slaves to their fondle slabs.
Crazy isn't it
They put their people in the dark. This doesn't mean it's private. Maybe to the world, but thier people are heavily monitored like no other.

That's what corporations do
George Orwell proved what's going on in the future, we live in a data mine, we are slaves, they're taking away our rights for profit, guns being taken away
We are being spied on by thieves and wolves, CEOs, zionism?
I couldn’t care less what Silicon Valley knows about me. Their focus is providing services to me and others who wish to provide me services. Should they be regulated? Yes. The real people you should be terrified of ( if it isn’t obvious enough after the last 3 years ) are the governments. My email box is full of ads from data analysis tool companies this morning because Google has taken note of my searching for such tools. I really don’t care about that. Besides, what can Google do to me specifically? Not much unless they manufacture incriminating evidence. No, Google and Facebook etc. are red herrings. That’s the stupidest shit I’ve ever heard. Without a government, companies would do this on a scale with China with no one to stop them
Mr right lol
Government power should be restricted to protecting people from criminals and foreign invasion. Those companies doing stuff like exploiting their workers, or doing some shady deals would still be responsible for their actions.
So many societal problems would be solved by just giving people more say about what is lawful, and how their taxes are spent.I am all for direct democracy that would be similar to the one they have in Switzerland, just with giving people more say about how their taxes are spent.
I would give some 20% of the tax money for the government to spend on the things that are necessary, but people are not aware of it because it is not their job to know stuff like the existence of all those small government agencies doing important things, but people are not aware of their existence or about some bigger agencies being underfunded. They would still have enough money to spend on some unpopular things that they see as necessary. That would be their right, but unfortunately for them, it would be far less money than they now have for it.
I believe people are smarter than governments. They would make better laws, and would better manage state finances. They would still make some mistakes, but less of them, and not so serious than those their governments would.

The funny thing about the UK is they'll never run out of material for their TV show Caught On Camera. While most people think that surveillance is a crime deterrent it seems Londoners just don't give a fuck if they are being watched.
