- Nicola Sturgeon said she would “get on with life and my job” after her husband was arrested before being released without charge in connection with an investigation into the SNP’s finances.
Speaking outside her home near Glasgow, the former First Minister said in a brief statement that the last few days were “obviously difficult” after the arrest of Peter Murrell, the party’s former chief executive.
Ms Sturgeon said she understood “the scrutiny that comes on me as a public figure”, adding that she intended to “get on with life and my job as you would expect”.
The statement was Ms Sturgeon’s first since police arrested Mr Murrell and searched their home on Wednesday morning. Investigators have also searched the SNP’s headquarters in Edinburgh.

@@aliwhitwell He was arrested on that day at 7:45 am, and was in custody being questioned for 12 hours. He was released without charge pending further investigation. This is a big case... a number of different premises were searched that day. The police have said they are putting together a report to the Crown Office for a charging decision. It ain't over by a long way

I’d love to hear from a body language expert. The hand on shoulder is something I have never seen her do and is so obvious. I find it really staged and creepy, I don’t think it makes her look honest (far too late for that) it just seems very contrived and she looks extremely uncomfortable which is obviously a joyous sight for those of us that have seen through the SNP bullshit for so long. Is it a pathetic attempt at seeking sympathy or is she subconsciously trying to protect herself? The whole thing stinks and maybe that’s why the flies are swarming??
