Good luck finding a local in one of those beautiful villages. The Portuguese are being forced out of their scenic and traditional towns where their ancestors have lived for hundreds of years because Americans and northern Europeans are buying up all the houses, raising prices. The quality of life has worsened drastically in the last ten years because of gentrification. It has increased the cost of everything and crime has risen in a country that until recently was one of the safest in the world. The foreigners that come and that perceive themselves as "expats", which are nothing more than immigrants with much more money than the national average, do not learn the language, do not establish contact with those who already live here and erase traditions, places and values just to have access to a luxury life at a cheaper price. Your vacation home is one less house for a Portuguese. Regards from the Algarve.

While I am so happy to see so many successful expat stories, it's so sad to see so many people have to leave their country simply because it is not affordable.
I agree. Good to see American immigrants doing well in other countries.
Same applies to Portuguese people. We have to leave Lisbon as well because of the increasing of the prices due to Tourism..
I would move - it’s really time for a better quality of life!! It’s becoming inhospitable in the US.
According to the OIV, the top 10 countries in terms of per capita wine consumption are:
Portugal: 61.7 litres per capita.
France: 45.8 litres.
Italy: 42.1 litres.
Maybe these people just like wine lol!
Hahaha... I bet most of them do & the others will follow soon considering Portugal's great affordable & so many varieties of wines from the islands to the mane land , its all so good :)).... happy to see us on another list where Portugal the great is #1 ... we're %1.. we're #1 .. we're #1..... :)
If only some low cost airlines offered flights from the US to Portugal, even if it was to the Azores, it would be more affordable to visit
On my way 🎉
Wow, Good Morning US went to Portugal as well. I'm famous, mom! 😅
Portugal is safe because they have less migration of North Africans when compared to Spain. The moment the migration starts hitting Portugal, that safety will be over
Less North african but more brasilians and Lots of pakistanies and indians
There’s not a lot of Maghreb but like any big group of people the percentage of bad apples also increase, Brazilians are the majority (400k legal +200k waiting to become legal), then palops and Indians,Pakistanis,Nepaleses, 50k uk citizens 10k USA citizens.
Still it’s a mess,already dropped a place in safety
Nice to see part of this European country.....
Madonna moved to Lisbon in 2017 and loved it. She is always ahead of the curve!
We have public healthcare, public schools and colleges, great weather, beautiful beaches, awesome food and no guns or shootings...i can see the appeal to an American.
As a Portuguese, stop moving there. It has gotten so expensive for the locals and it’s getting bad.
Como português são bem vindos.
The only countries I’ve been to is USA obviously because I live here, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Netherlands and Belgium 🇺🇸 🇩🇴 🇪🇨 🇳🇱 🇧🇪
FOOD FOR THOUGHT 🤔😊
This adorable mom teaches her childreen that their decisions of ''political correct way of consumption with glances of spiturual mindset'' causes critical shortage on house affordability and increase of cost of life and caresty to local tugas who earn stoic wages?
Robin Roberts should contact me so I can tell her the truth about living here.
This trend is finished, Portuguese are now struggling regarding life conditions, consider that, please
Mentira
Its over for portuguese natives
I’m Portuguese.Please don’t come 😄
GMA goes to explore Portugal only to interview some random brazilian woman. Seriously? How incompetent can you be?
Dont move. Thanks 👌
❤❤❤.
Yeah... Foreigners coming into several countries in Europe and buying hauses and land the feel it's cheap, even paying a bit over... And so rising and rising the prices so that the locals can't afford it anymore. Don't know what the solution to that is... Cause it's not only an foreigners thing, it's a wealthy people thing, people in our own countries do it too... So a thing about rich vs poor, not local vs foreign, and you don't have to be crazy rich to take more than you need and there for make it unavailable for others
❤️🇵🇹
Please Americans, please don’t ruin another place.
The sun, the beaches, the food, that is all very nice in picture, but I assure you if you come here you better have a plan to make money, don't expect people to be fair to you there's no American dream here, capitalism dried this country and life is very hard.
Smart people
Here's some news they won't tell you about Portugal 🇵🇹...
For locals, housing costs are through the roof. Crime has spiked. International gangs from South America, Africa and India have set up shop. Mass illegal immigration has lead to tent encampments on the streets and a sharp rise in street crime.
The once perfect balance of cultural liberalism and deep rooted traditionalism has been upended by far left American style woketivism. This of course is giving rise to right wing parties reacting to all the problems imported by the delusional left.
Portugal 🇵🇹 is still beautiful, but for how long?
USA is not really the greatest country😅😅
You need to know, how many people are moving or migrated to the US
@@rrsan6321 😅😅
No country is, all have pros and cons.
If you are highly skilled they have the dough if not it’s doesn’t seem the best place unless you make compromises and go live in the Midwest or something and become a mormom , they seem more religious than us in some states😂
GMA/Disney pays for Robin to go on a 5 star vacation to Portugal. As a viewer, why would I want to watch this?. Rich person goes on free vacation for 'work'
We just spent last week in the Algarve and toured the caves by way of the Pirate Ship Tour. Unfortunately it was too chilly to swim in the caves, but definitely the next time we go.🙂
Crime has skyrocketed since I lived there. Drugs have always been a problem.
The coast breeze is good for your lungs

Calm down... Portugal is not as big as USA.
Come, but don't abuse and take advantage of portuguese people who might be living in vulnerable situations. Because most people here struggle to get their own houses. We don't really want to sell the country to USA. Thank you.
To many americans here already...
in 3 days like Americans do 😂😂

Go to Portugal, visit, leave. Thank you

I’m with Sarah and Alyssa has been making this point for months. At his point, I am concerned for Biden, in General. I’m concerned, however, that if not Biden who and will we have enough time to know this new candidate because I’ll be honest, I do not want Kamala running this country.
What do u think ladies
Basta!!
