That's definitely possible but there's no amount of certainty you can have fixing footwork and accuracy issues. In crunch time, pressure, habits take over. The 10,000 reps case here ala Sabin. How long does that take? We'll see, but 2nd or 3rd year in the same system maybe. Allen hit it at the end of his 2nd year.
@Gopackgoinfinity people who do not like someone's game is not hate. He has 6 in 1 season and 7 in one season, Daniels has 20 in 5 seasons, MAYE TURNS THE BALL OVER MORE THAN DANIELS IS A, FACT!!! Can't argue facts, dummies!
I was all about Maye especially after his 2022 season. Herbert never put up numbers like that at Oregon but was way more consistent overall. But after watching tons of tape on him I have some major concerns. Maye misses a lot of easy throws and his foot work isn’t great. He panics under pressure and forces throws which turns into mistakes. He’s young with a good arm and the tools to be a good qb. So I’m not saying he won’t be good but it could take time. The question is will he be a Josh Allen or a Kenny Pickett.
I want to want Maye but I was in person for the NC State game and I just can’t get excited for him like I can for Daniels. However, I’d be happy with either.
College no longer matters. This is about projecting them to the pros and you cant just look at college production for that. Maye is far more likely to succeed as he hasnt even come close to his ceiling yet whereas theres a good case to be made that Daniels has already reached his ceiling. I see Maye as a Jordan Love clone. Has the size, athletic ability, rocket arm, and the ability to make rare throws, but hes also raw and needs time to grow. If a team is patient enough to give him that, like the Packers did with Love, look out.
There has never been a successful QB as skinny as Daniels. His frame would scare the crap out of me. If size wasn't an issue Daniels is crazy talented.
@@TheNatewl777There definitely has maybe not recently but there has. I mean Joe was like 5 pounds heavier coming out. Randall Cunningham is a pretty famous skinny one. Lamar was 215 when was draft think he around 220 now.
There is a lot of bad tape Drake Maye. Some very good tape, but lots and lots of horrible missed throws. Don’t watch the highlights only. Watch every throw.
Yea many see the highlights and think that’s him all the time. They see the size arm and athleticism and think we turn him into Josh Allen. The problem it’s actually rare to see that drastic of a change in course of 3 years. Not saying he can’t do it but it’s not as simple as some think. People forget how heavily touted Darnold was who had similar accuracy issues Maye has. They gave him 3-4 years in NY and he went Carolina and he still didn’t break through. He still pretty young at 25-26. Think he came in at 20.
You say that like that's a new thing. Every QB has bad throws in college. Even QBs in the pros have bad throws. Not sure if you saw that pick Mahomes threw on his first possession in the second half. He almost threw the game away with that one.
@@renaldoawes2210 I don’t know a lot ex Quarterbacks watch his film and he just doesn’t do it for them. They say yea he can make every throw and some many can’t make, but he consistently misses on passes that are not even close that are wide open, and there usually easy ones. Kurt was saying you can’t miss on those easy short passes, they don’t always come easy in the the NFL so you have to hit them. Many say it’s his fundamentals and his mechanics that cause those weird misses. Many of them dropped him a spot or two, that’s why many mocks started having Daniels at 2. Jayden doesn’t have Maye’s arm strength but he a lot more consistent with his accuracy. Many say his mechanics are identical to CJ and has a quick release. The not throwing over the middle is over blown he did do it some, but the scheme just focuses more on outside. Thats why many are saying he needs to a sit like Love, had similar issues. I mean this isn’t to far off of what said for Pat. I wouldn’t say Herbert, because mechanics were perfect coming out almost robotic. With Herbert it was more about the scheme. He wasn’t ask to throw ball deep similar to Bo most his passes were at the line.
Caleb Williams = RG3; Jayden Daniels = Mike Vick. As a Pats fan, I pray Drake Maye falls to 3, and the brain trust of the Pats don't have a brain fart. We need this guy in NE!!
Here's the thing: the ACC has never been weaker and his stats are super unflated in these massive shootouts (which he didn't even always win). His best season, last year, he had nfl starting caliber reciever, Josh Downs and without him he took a big step back as a passer. I understand that the other top qbs had better situations, but they also played in way tougher conferences. And as for the Herbert comparisons, Herbert didn't regress, he got better in his final season where the only receiver to see significant time was Juwan Johnson
He’s not hated, just no one wants him to be drafted to their team cause he dosent really have star potential. I mean you compare him to Justin Herbert, and Justin Herbert’s real good, but he isn’t the All Pro like others in the AFC. Also it’s hard to be in on a North Carolina QB when they haven’t had great success in the NFL (but I agree with draft based on the player not the school.). Finally he’s gotten worse every year he’s started. Overall, I would rather other guys, I think he’ll be a 12-17 qb in the nfl, but not much higher.
Will say i have kind of forgotten about Maye bc of UNC's regression but I do think he will go at two. We see these smoke screens all the time Yo btw imma just mention i have an ACC dedicated discord
Maye has just got prospect fatigue. People are just tired I having him as a top pick for the past two years and pundits just wanna say something that would go viral or stir conversation. Mate would be the first overall pick in any other draft that doesn’t have Caleb in it. And nj McCarthy hate is ridiculous. Yes, he isn’t flashy nor did he throw a lot at Michigan. But not only does he have good character and a history of winning, he can unleash the pigskin when he needs to. He goes through progressions and is calm in the pocket. Not saying he will be an elite superstar, but wouldn’t be surprised if he was a very good starter, similar to cousins career. All depends on what teams drafts him.
I’m a fsu fan and usually pay attention to the ACC, but I’m gonna be honest… I don’t think I saw a single highlight of him this season till draft season💀
Getting a little of the same vibe that Josh Allen had too. Losing his top weapons hurt, and he had a down year as a result. Gonna be interesting how the top 3 pans out
LMFAO Ok, 1 he's not, 2 you're a Washington fan and so unfamiliar with your own OC and system you don't realize Jayden Daniels would be a much better fit? This is actually the most Commanders decision they could make outside of JJ McCarthy. Pick a guy with talent, who isn't right for what they are trying to do, ruin him, blame him, ship him off where he becomes more successful elsewhere. Drake Maye will make a great QB in 3 to 4 years when Washington trades him.
lol naw I think they would fit a scheme for him if drafted. I kinda just Peters going with safer option, which is Jayden honestly. Look at his history he’s had two situations where the guy they took had all the talent in the world but didn’t put together for various reasons. His first run with this was that Paxton Lynch who had crazy arm and was mobile , and could make every throw. His lack of experience and shyt intangibles was his issue. The last was Trey Lance who was Mr.Potential he just very little experience. His end mainly do to injuries he couldn’t really improve being injured all the time. That was more shyt luck to me.
Where? Drake gets nothing but compliments about his athleticism, strong arm, and decision making.. JJ is the one that everyone hates… I’m a JJ fan, hope he does well in the NFL
Drake is probably the most polarizing or has most variety of opinions on him. Some legit have him # 1 over Caleb but it’s mainly do to his size. That what’s in his favor the most his size and arm, he easily the biggest of the top 7. Then you others mainly ex QBs who are not as high on him. Some just have him 3rd under Jayden others like Simms have him 5-6 best, and view him as a project. That needs to sit at least a year strictly to work on fundamentals. Many point to not playing his senior year of high school because of COVID. Then sitting his freshman year and only having 2 years of playing time. I think he needs to play and get more reps
@@MarcDionne-d2x I would rather take QB now than be mid with Jameis and draft a scrub one next year at top10-12 range or something, top tier qb prospects nowadays don't go that far
He will be good if he goes to WSH but will suffer going to NE. WSH is better week 1 with Daniels. I'd view both QBs as 2nd contract prospects that are too close to complain about. WSH and NE are going to get a great Franchise piece.
Maye and JJ have been given the same hype train as Caleb Williams lately. None of them are the most hated. The most hated is Jayden Daniels a lot of other QBs didn’t go to the combine but the main one with negative media coverage was Jayden Daniels. Jayden Daniels size constantly is under question when JJ a player who is being hyped up currently is smaller then him in both height and weight. Daniels had a perfect pro-days and not it seemed like a photo was released of a golf ball sized thing on his elbow. Meanwhile you look at his pro-day photos of the same arm in the same position you don’t see it because it’s not there, but the media still pushed it. Daniels a Heisman win and player who has broken multiple records is being sold as a worst play maker then Williams when that is all Jayden did both years at LSU. In Jayden’s final college season he accounted for more touchdowns then some teams had all together. Yet is constantly under fire by the media and is being talked about like he’s a no body
Burrow didn’t even get to start in OSU and got beat by Haskins so he transferred and finally started for 2 years. Daniel’s played at college for 5 years as starter and wasn’t good for his 4 years. It’s incomparable because they both have different play styles and Burrow didn’t showcase how good he was because he didn’t get to start at OSU, but Daniel started for five years. Daniels played for 5 years at the college level and you eventually get better as you age and build up more experience. Maye is more can’t miss prospect that will eventually get better he has height, weight, arm strength, running ability and the escapability moving out the pocket and throwing on the run. He has literally everything that what in a Qb.
Is he a leader, does he inspire his teammates, and does he make his teammates better? Trubisky and Howell didn’t do any of those things. I believe he needs time behind an experienced journeyman QB like Josh McCown, rather than Mariota, tbh. I think the baptism by fire technique can only be applied with elite talent. Justin Herbert has elite talent, but didn’t have the right coaches to help him out. I haven’t watched any tape on Maye, so I’m obviously biased, but I don’t believe an elite QB would leave Bama to go back to the safe choice school, in his home state, less than 30 min from where he was born. It would’ve been smarter for him to go to Wake IMO
My only concern for him is that his 23 numbers aren't as good as 22. Dropped in most every category and threw 9 INT's in 23 compared to 7 in 22. Lost to VA in 23? Plus, is the ACC. He can throw but not at a Bryce Young or Jayden Daniels level. His upper body isn't NFL ready. Not a guy that will run through tackles but needs to avoid them. I'm far from convinced he'll be out Joe Milton in NE. Every NFL QB is more physical in the upper body and I can't assume since he won 8 games in the ACC last year that that is on par with Joe winning 8 in the SEC, when you consider who those QB' s to last year. Bama, UGA, we get those, UF has athletes and a defense. UNC losing to who all last year? I think the ACC had to have a poster QB for the conference since Travis was hurt and for draft season, the hype around Maye was a bit much. Reminds me of Daniels who transferred to UGA a few years ago. Good passer but that physical upper body, was missing.
No one is overthinking it, the other broadcasters like Mel Kiper just need to get views so they say stuff like JJ Maccarthy is the second best QB in the draft
Washington passed on Herbert so why not repeat. At that time, the pick was #2, and it was clear Haskins was the product of an offense that made him look good. He was benched a few games into the season. Fans, let is slide. They don't care about winning.
You failed to show that Drake Maye is being treated like Justin Herbert, which was your major thesis. Maye couldn’t beat out Howell in Maye’s first season. Apart from size and a strong arm, I don’t think Maye is much like Herbert.
You just said why jayden damiels is already had some development and that's why he won the Heisman and drake is gonna have to develop to become a mitch trubisky you crazy for this one
Scouts said Justin Herbert was in a easy system in Oregon that is why his draft stock fell a bit. In my opinion Drake Maye will get picked second from the qb class. The media is just overhyping JJ McCarthy right now
I don’t think we are taking him but he definitely going top 10. Teams love who he played for in a NFL system. When was called to do something he rarely made mistakes, and has good arm and athletic. On top of that he youngest QB in draft . So he is a winner did enough and has room to grow , is what they see. It’s definitely 50/50 with Maye and Jayden. I think Peters experiences will definitely have thinking. Two times in the past he went with super talented but lack experience QB. Both these QBs didn’t work out and set up back. (Lance) (Paxton Lynch)The last guy that hit was a 4-5 year starter, that being the 49ers QB now. Im just saying don’t be shocked if they take Daniels. 5 year starter improved every year and still has room to grow.
We know these Gimmick QBs that have duel threat RB type numbers are just that a gimmick. They have not won any super bowls they are flashy for your fantasy team thats it. They are always more RB then QB and because of that they are injury prone and have short 5 year careers. Defenses eventually figure them out fast and actually come up with schemes that force them to pass and make decisions. Newton, Wilson and Jackson have been the only ones to have success. They also had short careers. Outside those 3 their have been far more failures. At the end of the day you want someone who will stay in the pocket, keep their eyes down field, and make huge throws. Go down, throw the ball out of bounds and live to play another down.
Mf’s rlly out here acting like Bo Nix is a superior prospect. That man Bo Nix is ancient and has nowhere near the physical tools or talents that Maye has.
DO NOT compare Maye to Herbert. Maye was not successful against the better defenses in a not so good conference. Coming out of college, Herbert had better mechanics, better under pressure, and succeeded against better teams in a horrible shackled downed offense.
Two things, Caleb is definitely getting the most hate (for some of the dumbest non-football stuff I have ever seen) and if anything Maye is just the least talked about or the most under the radar at this point cause he has been a consensus top 3 pick in the draft since last year.
@@raymondsmith2040people don't know how to watch film. Crazy to say Maye doesn't have a big arm. Guys just like to comment even if they don't know anything about it.
If Caleb was hated they would slam him for all his fumbles. But they don’t. They would point out his height. But they don’t. They would point out how he doesn’t stay in the pocket. But they don’t. No one is trying to point out that he’s comparable to Zach Wilson. But they don’t. Caleb is still the projected #1 even though he has some major issues. Drak Maye could easily be the #1 and he’s miles ahead of Jayden Daniels, except the hate and smear campaign is real. The Manning brothers, in their prime would work on their footwork in the off-season. All QBs can improve. There’s going to be a lucky team who gets Drake Maye. The others, simply will continue their losing ways.
@@sneakyninja0866 yeah right. Caleb is a Baker Mayfield clone. NFL locker rooms are a different beast than an LA college. Good luck in Chicago with all those fumbles. Trubisky, Fields and now Caleb.

What was the pre draft talk on Herbert ?
Love your video J&D and keep up the great work you are awesome
Drake maye will also be the best nfl QB in the class 💯
That's definitely possible but there's no amount of certainty you can have fixing footwork and accuracy issues. In crunch time, pressure, habits take over. The 10,000 reps case here ala Sabin. How long does that take? We'll see, but 2nd or 3rd year in the same system maybe. Allen hit it at the end of his 2nd year.
I have just one question. Where is the video on the Washington Commanders..........
Maye is a Stud and has very high ceiling if he pans out. There are a lot of smoke screen to discourage other teams during draft season! 😊
Most hated is a strong line. He turns the ball over.
So you don’t watch college ball that’s cool
That's not even a common criticism he gets, you're just throwing crap out there based on a game you saw.
Herbert was way more polished in college
Yep, and he has 4 years starting vs. 2 years. Jayden Daniels has 5 years starting. Does that mean anything?
I was all about Maye especially after his 2022 season. Herbert never put up numbers like that at Oregon but was way more consistent overall. But after watching tons of tape on him I have some major concerns. Maye misses a lot of easy throws and his foot work isn’t great. He panics under pressure and forces throws which turns into mistakes. He’s young with a good arm and the tools to be a good qb. So I’m not saying he won’t be good but it could take time. The question is will he be a Josh Allen or a Kenny Pickett.
not true lol watch his game vs auburn or arizona st n come back to me
I want to want Maye but I was in person for the NC State game and I just can’t get excited for him like I can for Daniels.
Drake Maye will be a good QB in the NFL
We just in the season were people start saying random shit because they’re so bored lol
He wasn’t ask to throw ball deep similar to Bo most his passes were at the line.
this is the million dollar question! can a coach eliminate or reduce those horrible missed throws? can they maximize the 1 of 1 throws? tough to say!
Caleb Williams = RG3; Jayden Daniels = Mike Vick. As a Pats fan, I pray Drake Maye falls to 3, and the brain trust of the Pats don't have a brain fart. We need this guy in NE!!
That NC team was not good and most of the wins can go to D. M. overcoming a bad roster
We see these smoke screens all the time
Yo btw imma just mention i have an ACC dedicated discord
all the top qbs are hated on expect daniels and penix
Penix is injury prone and Daniel's never won a big game or put the team on his back to win before. Both are old. There ya go.
Expect what?

I never heard about this while he was at UNC... Must be something that popped up during the draft process
As a Ducks fan and also a guy thats big on Maye I support this message.
I’m a fsu fan and usually pay attention to the ACC, but I’m gonna be honest… I don’t think I saw a single highlight of him this season till draft season💀
perfect fit for the broncos
Getting a little of the same vibe that Josh Allen had too. Losing his top weapons hurt, and he had a down year as a result. Gonna be interesting how the top 3 pans out
Don’t let them silence you. Maye to DC
LMFAO
Ok, 1 he's not, 2 you're a Washington fan and so unfamiliar with your own OC and system you don't realize Jayden Daniels would be a much better fit?
The on screen text read:

lol this channel is so dumb
I want him for the commanders too, I hope we know what we're doing
As a pats fan I really don't care if its Maye or Daniels, both have elite potential and I feel if good developed both will be great QBs in todays NFL
I'm a Pats fan too, and I'm sorry, but Daniels reminds me of Michael Vick. Not the style of play that we need in NE.
Opinion on him is so different. I’ve heard everything from Josh Allen to Mitch Trubisky.
I don't think he will go number two overall because Marvin Harrison Jr. It would be wise for Washington to get more picks to fill more urgent needs.
I’m almost certain that people will take Maye over McCarthy.
I agree with everything you said. But I think the commanders are going mccarthy at 2.
why bro look like younger herbert
JJ is without question the most hated
I’m sorry but how did UNC make the most beautiful uniforms ever, it makes it hard to focus to what he is saying
I feel people are forgetting about maye not, hating. People HATE Caleb Williams and JJ McCarthy.
Haters wouldnt be haters if they didnt have anyone to hate. Keep on hating, haters. Your tears keep the rest of us entertained.
Maye will be the best QB in this draft down the road
What’s a quarterba
No one is overthinking it, the other broadcasters like Mel Kiper just need to get views so they say stuff like JJ Maccarthy is the second best QB in the draft
Washington passed on Herbert so why not repeat. At that time, the pick was #2, and it was clear Haskins was the product of an offense that made him look good. He was benched a few games into the season. Fans, let is slide. They don't care about winning.
People laughed at me when I said Herbert was going to be a stud in the NFL.
He's not hated. There are just a few more talented QB's this year.
Drake is somewhere between Justin Hebret and Daniel Jones. We'll see how good he is.
Maye is probably the most forgettable qb in this draft, not hated.
Most of the negativity is coming from his footwork and underthrowing balls. Also, the comparisons to trubisky and Howell
I’m sorry but I don’t see Herbert in this guy I could be very wrong but I gotta see it first
I back this guy!!!
His brothers will push him. Also Patriots fans will not be easy on this guy
If Drake would have played on Washington or LSU he would have had 60 TDS
The difference between Herbert and Maye is Herbert has a killer arm and Maye has s-t for an arm. Any other questions?
