Hoping the storms will help the drought situation in the summertime.
Make all dams in California earth quake safe so can store 100% not 1/3 of capacity, and don't allow housing developments at base of earth dams just asking for trouble
It's not about the threat of earthquakes, Reclamation has mismanaged water releases for decades. They dump water as a precaution when bigger storms roll in. Rain on snow in the Sierra's generate flooding rivers which in the past has risked the dams. A number of the big dams have new flood spillways recently added, but they never did the full improvements to river levee systems (pushing the problem downstream). Also realistically water rights and water intensive farming has been allowed, so rather than build dams, we should address the other less expensive problems that cause the bigger issues.

I don’t see how we can still be considered in a drought. By definition, with all the rain we’ve had, we are no longer in a drought. Gas lighting...
It takes into account all the deficits from the last few years. While you are correct in the sense that it has been abnormally wet recently, there is still ground to make up from the last few years. Hope this helps!
@@letsgobaby8501 It get that. But they are still saying we are in a drought when we are NOT. This is psychological programming to get people to accept permanent water restrictions. Regardless of how much water your district has, they are trying to lump everyone into one category. In my region, San Mateo County, there is an agency called BAWSCA, which is saying that until Oroville, Shasta and San Luis Reservoirs are full, we have to cut back because we are all one. We get our water from Hetch Hetchy. Those reservoirs have nothing to do with our region. This is Agenda 2030, which creates artificial scarcity in order to control people.
@@letsgobaby8501 And we are not abnormally wet, this is what a normal winter looks like. This is not climate change. Do you know California history? The Donner party? Was their twenty plus feet of snow caused by climate change back in 1846-47?
