The Awdry Extravaganza 2022 - Visiting the Skarloey Railway on Sodor (Talyllyn)

- This weekend the @TalyllynRailway1865 played host to the Awdry Extravaganza 2, the annual celebration of the Rev. W Awdry's 'The Railway Series'. It was an incredible gala event featuring original Thomas and Friends TV show models, fan creations, artefacts, illustrations and of course the Talyllyn locos in all their glory. The Welsh weather even joined in on the celebrations (though the thunder may have been sneakily added in editing 🤣).
Massive thanks to Luke Ryan who organised the event, and to Luke Pickman for his beautiful musical arrangements which accompany this video.

It's nice to see they put effort into the engines faces 😉 In all seriousness it looks like a great place to visit. The reality of a part of Sodor existing, and you're able to visit it is incredible. I hope one day to go myself.
Talyllyn and Dolgoch are the only engines that doesn't have faces for the future events.
Attended online, but really wish I could've made it in person too...
With me being an American when I'm older than 17 I would love to visit Wales and go to the Talyllynn railway one day. If Tug can do it I hope to do it too. All the same Tom I'm glad you had a great time and from all the pictures and videos I was seeing it looked like a blast. Here's to the Awdrey extravaganza!
Same, but I think it’ll be to late for me, cause it’ll probably be time for steam engines to go into a museum, cause year will be like 2029 but I have hope.

Great video Tom hope the rain did not put a dampner on things. Some great engines and it looked like everone was enjoying themselves.
It was great fun, I only really got soaked today and that was my own fault, stood at the signal box in the middle of nowhere waiting for the train to pass, wasting my time!

I was around all day Sat, then at the Tim Dunn lecture this morning and headed up the line in the rain to film some trains passing at various points.

It was such a great event. I did spot you a couple of times but my social shyness got the better of me (again)
