Thank you so much for the shoutout! Always been watching & loving your content :D For context: That same group continued to Sabetha struggling for about an 1h+. Towards the end they managed to figure it out and beat it! After that we transitioned to W2 Slothasar where the group would end up being stuck. They did manage to prog till around 40% though! :)
That pug practice idea was great. I might try something like that on a whim one of these days. The tedious part of training runs is having to sit down and explain stuff, but I don't mind failing pulls here and there. Sounds interesting.
Scourge as build isn't dead but it's dead to me. The pull combined with the revive potential was the thing I was interested about. Now if I want to play Scourge I could also just take my Chrono and slot in Medics Feedback *for the same result* but on a class I have twice the playtime on as a Mesmer-Main.
I recently finish all the Mesmer and Necro specs. The choice when gearing out was a no brainer, heal Chrono, sorry Scourge. Ironically, I made the Necro specifically for heal Scourge, but after the transfusion nerf, I am just not interested in it. What's the point? Transfusion was what made it special.
It has never been about performance. It was about a unique way of gameplay no other class-specialization could offer. You could tell me Scourge is top DPS, heal and has 100% uptime on all boons. I'd still wouldn't care if Transfusion is not a thing anymore. Heal scourge is dead to me, and so is for anyone who cared about class choice and not MERELY "raid" performance. Acting as if we had WoW or XIV raids.
No words can fit on how much I agree to you! The unique way it used to be played was the thing that got me into it and what I liked about it. Even though the revive potential looks disgusting in the video, the class isn't tempting to me anymore. I can infact just play my Chrono and change into feedback rezz for almost the same result but with a bigger toolkit then scourge could ever dream of.
I wonder if a way to retain the unique feel of transfusion post nerf and maybe make it even more necromancerish is to allow it to apply revive effect to defeated players not just downed (as normally only downed players can be revived by traits and certain skills) That might not be good balance wise but if that isn't an issue then it would be very unique. Alternately, they could have the next necromancer weapon be a heal specialist weapon that pulls downed players like transfusion did, on a reasonable cooldown skill.
Hey dude, just wanted to leave a comment cause I wanted to tell you how much I treasure your content. You made me love gw2 and for that I am so thankful. Lots of love man!
Hello Teapot, really cool video. One very small remark on the math part. Healing modifiers are additive, that is to say Transference + Life From Death + Food + Enhancement will "only" get you to 45% modifier, not the 53%, so it's 13.05% revive percentage, not 13.77%. There are some situations where the modifier is multiplicative, for example the Herald trait that makes regen more effective.
I pug boneskinner daily. The strike is old enough that majority of the people are ok with the stack n roll. Need to emphasize on the stacking more now.
@@michaelwhite4713Yeah, some of them I see going off alone at the side, whacking the boss..... But luckily, usually can still win even when almost half the group has dropped dead.
Anet could have given the pull to Sand Savant 🤔 1. It would be balanced by limiting it similarly to Tempest's trait choice between DPS, Alac or Healing. Now Scourge would have to choose between DPS, Alac or Pull. 2. It would work similarly to Function Gyro but instead of reviving it now pulls downed targets to you. Now Sand Shade pulls up to 5 downed targets to you, each target can be pulled once every 30 seconds and pulling more than 1 makes the cooldown 25% longer for each additional person. All these are meant to balance the pull in a way it is not harmful to the game. We still have things like Glyph of Renewal Lighting which pulls 1 target to you and Search & Rescue which pulls 1 target to you. Those are utilities and can be used in Alac Healing builds but if we make you to trade the Alac for the Pull I don't see reason not to make it pull 5 targets?
@@angelsnowpaw9856 it would. People who run Raid training could run DPS Scourge and take the pull. I used to play DPS Scourge, Harbinger and Reaper using Blood Magic to Pull people without telling anyone in Boneskinner and W2. Also in groups that seemd to go down more often before it was nerffed.
"its not that bad guys, its not trust me" meanwhile every other class already got revive speed buffs over the years while still having their own gimmick. Ritual of life is still at 3.5% rez speed even after transfusion effect removal instead of original 7% per pulse. Now that transfuse gimmick is gone, it might still be good enough but its just not appealing anymore.
Every other class than Thief. Thief had both revive traits straight up removed, first from shadow arts, then from Specter. Regardless, it sucks they took the pull completely away from transfusion instead of finding a middle ground
@@n1cemaiden879 personally im fine with the effect gone. It's worse than every other healer, I've dropped it completely for Druid and Chrono with some Catalyst on the side for the novelty before that gets nerfed too.
Scourge still is a strong healer. But that's about it. Scourge now is _just_ healer - nothing more. For me it has lost the thing that made it special, different in a way from _other healers_ in GW2. I dropped it as well but for the reason that it's just not tempting for me anymore with the way, it works now.
@@ColdMystery Totally agree, for me this part goes without saying. Transfusion is unlike any other support I've done in another game. It was utterly unique and so satisfying. Without it GW2 is a lot less interesting to me as a support main, that along with lack of efficacy of Scourge means I've removed it from my roster of healers for my raid static and am honestly unsure of how much longer group content will continue to be of interest to me. Really I am only staying as to not leave my static in a lurch but that can only motivate for so long when open world pve is losing more interest as time goes on and more unique things like transfusion are deleted by the "balance" team.

Sucks that it's lost the unique downstate pull mechanic, it was broken as hell for sure but IMO they could've nerfed it more instead of removing it completely.
The balance patch absolutely nuking all 3 heavy armor classes' spears into weaker but more complicated (except for warrior, that one's just weaker) versions of the weapons we already had feels bad. It makes me wonder why I should bother to pay for new content.
Unfortunately both are not exact qualifications - i speak from experience there 😂 It just shows that you have played the game much and maybe have a lot of money… Oooor you get a teapot joker from time to time! Had teapot in my raid months ago (w7 CM). It was glorious 😊
It’s empty for two reasons. Most North American groups are Statics with some fill. Then Raids in GW2 got gatekept hard. When pugging it’s all to common to just be kicked/blocked with no explanation. That pushing new people out. No new people coming in and old people stay in their pugs off LFG. This made Raids have less activity than PVP and everyone call that’s mode dead.
@@theamazinghaole2384 I feel that the reason why is actually lack of gatekeeping from the game. Lots of ppl just dont read, and join the group that they shouldn't join, which make more and more ppl chose to go with static or just not doing it any more. And then it goes on into a bad cycle where less and less ppl on lfg, when old player left no new player join. And yet, Anet isn't going to resolve any of those issues but going to release a wing 8.
@@dcool5019 You're completely correct, reading is a skill at a premium in this game, and sadly no one's employing it. I'm all for allowing all sorts of players in groups, but the people who refuse to read also happen to be very disrespectful of other's time in the way they engage with the game. People need to be reminded that if you intentionally do stupid shit, you're essentially wasting the time of upwards of 9 other players, and that isn't cool, and shouldn't be seen as cool.
@@dcool5019 I apologize but lack of gatekeeping? I feel like we don’t even play the same game. Few LFG ads are up and sit sometimes forever looking for Pillar or tank. I have had way more pug groups of the commanders either just kicking (even on clears) or perfectly fine runs in pugs. I haven’t experienced someone joining for a role without knowing it to the point if it did happen I don’t remember. Ads up asking for 50-100 KP and there’s more ads up for selling than actually running in N.A. I just don’t accept your conclusion that more gatekeeping is needed. Arenanet of course should implement systems to have deterred this from happening. Thor (a ex Blizzard employee) has great ideas for rewarding training runs in mmos and GW2 content creators have had great ideas too. However the blame does fall on both the community and Arenanet for how people perceive raids.
I have a static for that which helps me to avoid the LFG as good as possible. I sometimes have to fetch some pugs if we don't full but usually we _only_ need 0-4 people at worst.
Don't kid yourself, the reason you don't raid is you either don't want to or are too afraid to join groups. There's a ton of sellers but there's no requirement groups every day even outside of prime time atleast on EU. Only thing stopping you is yourself, plenty of people have pugged raid legendary armor starting from 0 experience. Of course, easiest way is to find a guild or a static but it's absolutely not required. Elitists are a boogeyman that doesn't exist unless you join a group you have no business joining in the first place, like hopping on CMs without knowing the encounter.
Hopefully, this will lead to a much-needed nerf for Barriers on WvW since it's objectively better than healing in almost all save for the most niche of situations. The issue is that it's Damage Negation and Damage Negation can only ever be balanced if there's a limit to how many times you can do it or receive it.
