Loved this. And really looking forward to future episodes. If its not already in the pipeline id be really interested to hear your tips on capturing night shots of stars and campfires. By the way, the utes looking great! Hope to catch you on the tracks one day mate, Cam.
Digging your channel Graham! It feels much more personal when it's just you filming/editing/presenting. I think this could be the start of something big! Looking forward to the next installment 💪😁
Hi Graham I'm still camping any time I can, I been lucky and work in the bush, camping in winter in the High Country or the Outback is the only reason I get out of bed and I agree with you when no one is there is the best time I spent a week camped at Oodea Station this year and was on my own for the week, let me know if your coming to Vic I would love to spend a few days camped with you up in the high country to show you some of the plants birds and history of many of the placers
Bloody great mate, really nice and concise and informative. Also loved the outcome as I just sold all my Nikon gear and bought a full frame mirrorless Sony and good glass
I love this idea and series. Thanks for putting the time in to it. I love photog and any thing outdoors. I’ve been doing adv bike photog for 15 years and an recently exploring the 4wd world again. Thanks again. Cheers for USA
Heck yes!!! I'm so glad that you've created an off road photography page. My husband bought me a canon eos750d. I'm only just learning how to use all of the manual settings. We're heading up to the cape for the first time next week. So I've been practicing on my waterfall and astrophotography. I'm only an amateur, and often look at your instagram photos in awe. Good luck on your new sideline!!
Great video. Photography and 4wding... two very expensive hobbies! Both are the same though, use what you already, take it to the max, push it to the point where it frustrates you, and then look for upgrades. I upgraded my 70d after it stopped working and it was replaced to an 80d. There are things I don’t like about it, but there are a lot more things I can master before upgrading. AND before I do that... I’ll upgrade my lens first! That’s my biggest advice, master what you currently have first before upgrading!
I am an amateur photographer and have fallen in love with landscape and nature. Just got myself a 4x4 as I want to get off road and explore. I have been binge watching 4wd Action and now I find this new series. Well done and congrats on ep 001. Looking forward to the rest. Just need to get advice on what to do to my very stock GU Patrol in order to go off road safely.
Wow loved this episode im only just starting to get into Offroadography lol gonna use that one, but seriously, it was really inspiring to see the Legend himself talk about camera's, please can we see the next episode soon :)
Great video Graham, cant wait to see the future episodes!!Really would like to get away on the Shutterbuggers Campfire Escapes trip to get a bit of hands on advice from you!!
Watching this a second time around. Trying to get a handle on this “offroadography” so I can share what I see. Are you able to do more of these please?
Nice work bud. Personally I went with the canon 80D for my main camera. And then I’m the same as you. Gopros. Phones. Drones. Everything. You kinda need it to make a good versatile video these days. Thanks for sharing
Very honest straight forward, even though I don’t agree 100%. I have basically the same kit, and it is true what you said that every thing has a job and does it well in this day and age. My only thing is I am a print nut. So I will harden up carry the weight and take FF DSLR every where for one reason only, I want the best RAW image I can capture in 2018 when I get home with that once in a life time shot. Cameras are tool’s you cant fix everything with a 8mm spanner, you need a set, just like one camera will not do it all. That said this is one of the best (straight forward) explanations I have seen on the which to get subject. Thanks Graham I’ll be back for more.
Great video Graham! Mirrorless is a great option but maybe not the cheapest for newcomers to offeredography. A lot of the newer less expensive DSLR cameras also come with wifi and still take a great photo. This might be a better starting point for people who want to get into photography but also don't want to break the bank. Keep up the great work!
Probably need to do a segment on good camera insurance and safe secure storage now that we all know where your cameras are! Good Video, looking forward to your next.
Mate great start to an awesome concept 👍👍 Funnily enough I was about to introduce my 4wd into my landscape photography UA-cam channel and start down a similar path, might catch ya round, if you’re even in the High Country 👍👍 Cheers, Simon
You're totally right with the leaps and bounds that the camera's in phones have come over the years but I've recently found myself favoring my old school Canon 1000D DSLR for general 4x4 / campsite photo's. I think the interchangeable lenses and easy to adjust settings combined with the quality of photo's and auto focus points give it the edge for those slightly better quality photo's when / if you enlarge them. Bring on this years tax return and hopefully a drone will be on the short list sometime soon! A top video there with very handy info mate.
I love my mirror less camera. I picked it up off an auction site for cheap, it’s not the best mirrorless but it has wifi built in so when I take a photo it goes straight to my iPhone. Paired with my adobe subscription I can edit the RAW file straight from my phone. It’s great
Awesome Episode Graham! Good day from the U.S.! I have been watching you on Australia 4wd action for a while. Love that show. Its great to see you doing your own thing. I look forward to learning more tips and tricks to hone my videography skills. Take care mate!👍✌
Great idea Graham. I've been a photographer for a while and an offroader for not very long but am really getting in to it. This video basically combines my two favourite things! I remember you used to use a Fuji X100 series. Have you retired this one now?
Now its 2024 and my Samsung S23 Ultra can do really amazing night photos and videos even in 4k but audio would be a bit 🤷♂️🤔 ahaha, but i really love how good they are! Ive got a otterbox case to protect it and tripod for night shots!
I thought for sure you were gonna say the best camera to have is the one in your hand. ;p Seriously though, very well spelled out and appreciate the demo shots. :)
Did you ever do more of these? I like the idea of a mirror less camera and been looking at a few, found if I stick with same brand (in this case canon) I can even get an adaptor to use my decent DSLR lenses with it too 👍
Good stuff mate, loved the vid. Only thing you could do better next time is the audio volume level between scenes. Around 1:46 there was a noticeable drop in volume. Otherwise awesome, can't wait for me
I just wanted to say towards the end your comment re uploading to phone and online. The nikon camera do have an app that your able to link phone to camera so you can use and shutter remote AND load images to phone so you can edit and share on social media.
Good work Graham. Just you; the bush and a few toys; just what every bloke wants and no ads!
I fell down the UA-cam rabbit hole so this must be wonderland. A great video and I will spend the rest of the day watching them all. Thank you Graham.
Loved this. And really looking forward to future episodes. If its not already in the pipeline id be really interested to hear your tips on capturing night shots of stars and campfires.
By the way, the utes looking great! Hope to catch you on the tracks one day mate,
Cam.
I second that night / campfire photos request!
Tip #1 mate, dont loose or run over the go pro ahahahahah
Definitely going to keep watching.
Thanks for taking the time Graham.
Love your work Graham, beauty of the phone is always in your pocket, always handy.
Digging your channel Graham! It feels much more personal when it's just you filming/editing/presenting. I think this could be the start of something big! Looking forward to the next installment 💪😁
