    Hello, nice video but here are some quick observations:
    1) Pico Duarte is not between Haiti and Dominican Republic. It is located between the Provinces of Santiago and San Juan, fully within Dominican Republic.
    2) The Earthquake of 2010 did not happen early in the morning. It happen in the afternoon, so people were awake.
    3) Dominican Republic doesn't receive thousands of visitors. It receives MILLIONS (+11,000,000 based on official 2024 estimates).

    Ceding the western side of the Island to France was a decision that would come back to haunt Spain forever. There was no way they could’ve known it at the time, but that was the first of many losses in the New World that France would make them suffer, either directly like when they had to give up the rest of the Island via the peace of Basel, or indirectly when Napoleon made his brother king in Spain

    One keeps a victim mentality and only wanted to be a purest African race (Haiti). The other decided to recognize all its racial identity into one and unite its people Dom Rep.

    PART 2: Haiti invaded the DR for 22 years and Haiti stole 6,200 KM2 (Almost half of Puerto Rico 🇵🇷) and Trujillo formally ceded it in 1936 with the Border Treaty Revision Protocol of 1929. With this Treaty, the DR renounced its legal rights in a time of war over territories in LATAM.
    Territories: Hinchas, San Miguel de la Atalaya, San Rafael de la Angostura, Las Caobas and the entire Laguna del Fondo, being 4,572 km2 (8% of the national territory) ceded by Horacio Vázquez in the Border Treaty of 1929.
    Territories: Veladero, El Saltadero and la Miel, being 1,628 km2 (3% of the national territory) by Trujillo in the Border Treaty Revision Protocol of 1929.
    To give away those territories, DR 🇩🇴 modified its Constitution of 1929: Which set the border limits of the DR 🇩🇴 by the Treaty of Aranjuez of 1777. Even, during the Annexation of DR 🇩🇴 to Spain 🇪🇸, in January 1862, Queen Isabel II, made a Royal Ordinance demanding those territories from Haiti.

    5:21 The French rulers cut down hundreds of trees... deforestation. Really? A couple of hectars?

    • @blrxexplains
      @blrxexplains  2 дні тому

      More than a few hectares, man. According to some information
      During the war of independence in 1804, more than 60% of Haiti's forests were destroyed.

    Bueno, eso de cómo explicas la toma de la parte oriental de la isla no es así del todo: en el siglo XVII el gobernador de Santo Domingo ordenó el despoblamiento de esa parte de la isla por las continuas incursiones piratas (Devastaciones de Osorio). Los franceses lo aprovecharon para ir ocupando un trozo de la isla que estaba vacío y luego lo llenaron de esclavos para cortar caña. Por eso la genética de ambas poblaciones es distinta.
    Además el mapa sobre ambas colonias que usas no es el correcto, RD le entregó un 10% de su territorio a Haití en 1937 porque los haitianos lo habían llenado de gente y la soberanía dominicana sobre esas tierras (otrora grandes ciudades domínico-españolas como Hincha) era solo nominal

    PART 1: Haiti 🇭🇹 from 1825 to 1947 lasted 122 years paying France 🇨🇵 a debt of 150 million Francs, for the territories that Spain 🇪🇦 gave to France 🇨🇵 delimited by the Treaty of Aranjuez 1777, equivalent to 21,550 km².

    Not thousands tourists. Get your facts straight millions specifically 11 million tourists every year as of 2024. Dominican Republic would be a developed country if we didn’t have Haiti as neighbors. Hopefully someday the world wakes up and try to find a solution for Haiti and the only solution is for each developed country to take 1 million hatians as refugees and dissolve that country.
