My absolute favorite bit. I grew up listening to his comedy albums. His delivery was spot on. I borrowed his “You’re nervous? I’m nervous” when I worked as a hiring manager. It never failed to break the ice. RIP Bob. Thank you for sharing your humor with the masses - it’s made a huge difference in my life and I thank you. 🤣🙏🫶
I remember listening to this as a kid in the sixties. The title stuck with me through the years bloody amazing. There isn't anything you can't find on you tube.
I just read online that this was not only one of the first long-playing comedy albums, and not only one of the first to sell over 1 million copies, and not only received Album of the Year at the Grammys, but it was literally the FIRST time Bob Newhart had ever performed in a nightclub! Incredible, and a real testament to his talent.
Sheldon Helms My understanding from the WTF #523 interview is that this was the second time he was on stage, the previous night he was heckled so much they had to re-record.
I saw him recently and he did this bit as an encore. He prefaced it after a set of all new material saying, here is an old bit I used to do that I had some requests for...I made some changes to make it more PC for today's times...then proceeded to do the bit as an even less PC take on Asian drivers!

RIP. You were one of my heros! You never failed to make me laugh and make my day a little bit brighter. I, along with legions, will miss you.

Impeccable delivery,
Bob will be sorely missed.
One of the best comedy routines we ever ❤. Bob Newhart is a treasure.
So funny and not one foul word that's when comedy took brains now it's F*** haha. Every young comedian should listen to him.

Always loved you Bob. Your humor is timeless! God bless you.
Thank you Bob and Ginnie Newhart for all the laughs. And thanks for the ‘phone calls’!
My folks had all Bob's albums. I laughed 'till I cried.
He is a national treasure.
My parents had this album when I was a kid.. I listened to this whole album at least twice a week.. Thanks for the memories! :-)
His timing is perfection. It seems only now people are seeing the genius.
I have 4 of his performances uploaded with this and the bus driver being my favourites
had this memorized in the 70's!!
Always and forever hilariously funny!♥. Thank you for posting!!😍
"What did Mr. Adams do before he let you pull out into traffic...besides praying?" ROFL!
RIP, Bob. 😢

This is the best....
He is the perfect straight man
Bob Newhart is the MAN!
2020 saw him on CBS Sunday Morning. 11/1/2020
Album recorded in Houston, TX in 1960!
GENIUS!!!
Peace be with your Spirit
Bob is still with us aged 92
Great to know he's still entertaining and as irreverent as ever
Thanks Luke, glad you enjoyed it, I have 3 more sketches to upload over the next few wks.
The women drivers jokes would be very non pc now
Thanks for posting! I too listened to this when I was a kid. I can still remember the tobacco one describing it due
Would they get away with the "woman driver" jokes, today? Haha fantastic record!
Well...let's just say we'll use the expression as long as women still refer to the rearview mirror as a "make-up" mirror! How does that sound?
I thought that, too!!
is this the best selling comedy album ever?
Sadly it's not in the top 20 on a google search, that's predominantly filled with Adam Sandler and Weird Al, just not in Bob's league
Max Payne:
"So funny and not one foul word..."
I heard one.
Even if you did hear one ("damn"), on the whole, this standup of Bob Newhart way-back-when was a whole lot cleaner than a lot of "comedy" today!
The photo shows a 33 rpm LP. We had one of these at our house. Funny as hell.
The photo is of the EP cover of the record playing cat no. WEP 6031, the LP cat no. was W1379.
Classic bob newhart
The Naked Gun kind of swiped this bit, with the driving instructor car chase sequence.
Classic
Funniest comedian ever.
Nice
I can't wait till I start drivers ed. Hope I won't be nearly as bad as this person!

Oh this wasn't a smart choice to listen to right before going to sleep. Who can sleep after laughing this hard?
Funniest thing about that sketch is that they've only had cars for like 2 months in 1961 :D

Not that funny. Maybe people in 1960 were easier to make laugh. Or maybe sexism was funnier back then.
10-15-2022.
True comment. I find his humor very dry.
People in 1960 were more goofy
LOL 😆
@@timothyball7502 you just dont understand his type of humor.
