Thank you for your comments to Aida stichers about taking a gander at even weave. As someone who has only stitched on Aida for the past 25-30 years, I needed your encouragement - and I think (gulp) I am ready to take the leap, and trying variegated floss. Thanks for a great video!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! This really helped me! I love all the tutorials you are doing. I haven't stitched in 20 years. There are so many more things that I am trying and you are helping me discover those. Have a wonderful day!
There is just something soothing about watching you cross stitch. And thanks for keeping me company while I attempted to finish the last 40 stitches of 310 in the challenge piece I'm doing.
The longer I stared at the samples the more variation I saw. I've used some of the variegated threads on 18 count needlepoint and they are lovely when other threads are up against them and seem to show more. It really helped me to see how you keep the two strands straight as you complete each stitch. I'm working on making better stitches. Thanks for helping all of us.
Thanks again for the great video. Its nice that you are showing us all different ways and tools to use in cross stitching. Bravo to you for thinking of us. Your a great teacher and I look forward in your next one. I was trying to think of anything else that I wanted to know or learn but right now I think you are covering them all from beading to fabric to thread..Thanks so much!!
ROWENA PHILBECK I am doing one next on different types and counts of fabric. And I am going to do one on the different types of metallic thread out there.
Your tutorials are very helpful. Love them all and keep them coming. I am just back into stitching after about 15 years and I agree with Diane Erdmann. There are so many new things on the market like overdyed threads and overdyed fabric. So, yes, I am very much enjoying them. Keep them coming
I'm new here and I really love your videos! As a knitter that loves all kinds of needlework I can tell you the indie dyed knitting-crochet yarn is the same as the embroidery floss. When you knit a garment you need to alternate skeins because each skein is different from the others. I'm amazed how the yarn-floss world is so similar! Keep crafting and be happy!
Danielle, I found this video so helpful, especially the beading since I am new to that technique. Can't wait to see the upcoming video where you show off your fabrics. I'm sure I'll be completely enabled, but I don't care! LOL Loving all the videos, really appreciate them. Thanks :)
Thank you for all the tips you give us! I did my first project with over dyed thread and used Weeks because it was called for in a pattern in the Just Cross Stitch 2018 Christmas Ornament magazine (this is my favorite issue so far) but the result was completely different than the pattern shown in the picture. I did not stitch in individual crosses so maybe that's why it didn't work. There was no variation at all. I came across some DMC over dyed floss and the variegation was beautiful! Now that I know what over dyed x-stitching should look like, I would use DMC in place of Weeks.
Hi Danielle - I enjoyed your video! Hope you are feeling well these days as you get closer to the end of your treatments:) DO you ever stitch using the parking method? I have watched some tutorials but still do not really have a handle on how to read the chart while there are lots and lots of color strands hanging out. How do you keep from traveling so far? How do you not get lost? And do people just draw the guidelines for the 10x10 squares with a disappearing marker, or use thread? I have tried using thread but then it gets mushed up in the stitching and is a mess. I would really like to watch someone walk each step of the way through on a very intricate pattern!
Kathy Gill-Hopple usually the parking method is done with heaven and earth designs. I don't stitch those designs. Have you tried searching UA-cam for videos on that subject? A lot of people do heaven and earth designs patterns.
Another great detailed informative video. I want to thank you for all the time and effort you put into these videos. You rock girl!! Do you wash your finished project that you stitched with overdyes before you have it framed? Do you wash your overdyes in hot water before you stitch a project like some of the manufacturers recommend?
Another great video Danielle. Thank you so much. Would you consider doing a tutorial on how you do your back stitching, I can never get mine to look as nice as yours does 😀
Sharon M yes I will add that video to the list. I figure I need to wait to get to a point on a mirabilia or Nora Corbett where I stitch the skin and need to backstitch it.
Great video. I only stitch on 28 count and was wondering if you get extra floss if the pattern calls for it to be stitched on 32 count 1 over 1, so the dye lots are the same, when using hand dyed threads? Just wondering if the pattern only calls for 1 skein.
Thank you so much for all your tutorials! I love your channel! In the future would you consider showing us French Knots I have h##l doing them! Would you consider snowing us how to stitch on linen?
@@Stitcherista That is such a great idea! I struggled with french knots when putting eyes, etc. on my projects. No more....use #15 black beads. Thanks for yet another good tip!
I say no loop method if you are using overdyed threads, just because a bit of the variegation will be lost. I would just use two separate strands and maybe do an away knot to start. I have a video on my channek that shows that.
I'm hoping you can help me. I make Christmas stockings for my family. I'm looking for a stocking with a fireman theme for my grandson. Do have any idea where I can find one?
Marie Linton yes that is why you see CC called out on their charts. He bought it when the owners of Crescent Colours decided to retire. As another fun fact, the designer of Country Cottage Needleworks is the daughter of the designer of LHN!

Thx so much for doing this video! Great info on the different kinds of over dyes. Appreciate all the time you put into your videos 😸

Thanks for this tutorial. You are my resource for all things cross stitch. I have only used DMC and now am ready to venture out and try these threads.
Thank you for showing us the difference and sharing the way you work with dyed threads

Thanks again for information on different items. I do not us overdyed threads due to the cost, but love to have the info on them.
I love all your videos, but am really liking these tutorials you've been doing!!!!! :-) :-)

The weeks shown here looks very subtle, so I would expect that the variation would easily get lost if you don’t do complete Xes at a time.

Thank you for showing me how to stitch with hand dye threads. I have some patterns I want to do and they have hand dye threads in them.
Love to see how al worked.
I love that blue color aka your Christmas miracle lol. Adlai cake sprinkles is beautiful. Thanks for the video.
Thank you! Another great video!
Very interesting video ! Thank you !
Hey Danielle! Looking forward to your fabric video!

Stitcherista that would be awesome, I look forward to seeing it. Thanks, have a great day, happy stitching 🦊😀
You pronounced Malachite correctly 🙃 the ancient Egyptians used malachite to line their eyes with it to ward off evil. 🙂

Rose Radabaugh I usually do not get extra floss but you make a good point.
Thanks

Kim G I don't do French knots!! I sub out beads.

Went back and watched this one...helpful..now after time has passed, is there a brand of floss that you find yourself reaching for?
I usually use what is called for, but if I substitute I do like Gentle Arts Sampler Threads and Classic Colorworks the best.
@@Stitcherista Thanks helpful as always
Love these videos could you please do one with different metallics
Helen Taylor yes!! Good idea. I will jot that down for a future video.
I have heard that silk floss will disintegrate over time and just be gone have you ever heard of this? Great video. Love your nails! Take care.....
MaryJo Mouldimg hmmm I have not heard of that!
I just looked it up and it looks like it's more likely if it's a garment or if it's displayed in sunlight?
nice video. Nice nails, by the way....Go Team!
If you answered this, I apologize, but I heard you say that you're not supposed to use the loop method to stitch. What method would be better to use?

I don't have any idea. I would just try google and see what comes up.
What kind of fabric is this?
28 count Lugana evenweave
I hadn't known Classic Colorworks was owned by LHN's son. Interesting.
