Thanks Rick...great stuff as always. As a suggestion and If you end up keep that rifle, there is a little trigger linkage tweak you might explore. The point where the linkage rod attaches to the actual trigger assembly (where you see the little lock nut on the end of the linkage rod) has some slop in it due to the fact that the hole the rod is threaded through is more of a slot (its elongated vertically). In this setup, gravity pulls the rod to the bottom of the elongated hole and sometimes the rod creeps/pops up during trigger pull creating an inconsistent break. I have 2 Akelas and this happens on both, but one is worse since the trigger piece (the piece with the hole in it) was bent rearward creating more of a ramp that the nut could slide up. A simple fix (ok a hack) was to thread a piece of wire through the hole where the rod passes through and pinch it secure. This takes up the slack and eliminates any of the creep. That, combined with the trigger adjustment screw really lets you tweak the trigger. Thanks for all your efforts over the years!

Liked your presentation on the Akela. I got mine when they first became available. I find that mine is no where near as quiet as my marauder and far more pellet picky. Easy to see when you film your shots in slow motion. Very accurate with only a few different pellets like the Hornet and Predator polymag short. Lately have been shooting NSA 31.2 slugs. Very hard hitting. FX slugs shoot well also. I find the gun to be noticeably heavier then the Marauder also. Would not recommend as I find it very awkward to use and would not carry it in the field even with the sling I have on it. Looks cool though with my Hawke 6x24-50 with Tactacam FTS mount. Thanks again for your review.

15.89 aa in 5.51 were thr pellet for my akela. 1 hole groups at 35yds, could consistently shoot iguanas in the eyes at 60 and 70yds.

Thanks Rick for the honest review do you remember where the hammer spring was set my hs in my cayden in 22 cal with jsb 18.13gr must be set at 6+1/2 turns in cw preload to achive the same velocitys that you are reaching with this pellet.I think my rifle came out from the factory with the wrong hs in it as many people are saying these rifles are over sprung and some have cut coils out of there hs to improve thier shot counts something i would NEVER do to a new rifle thanks

Hey there, I don't have that rifle anymore as I had to send it back.. there can be some inconsistencies between runs and even in the materials or parts sourcing between runs. Best thing to do is grab your chrony and sort it out at the range. Hopefully you can get it dialed in where you want it :)
      Cheers
      Rick

@@AirGunWeb Thanks Rick she is dialed in pretty much the same as the rifle here but it likes the hs set at about 50% preload i can shoot 30 full power shots into one raged hole at 25 yards befour the es starts to drop below 4% and can shoot about 36 shots befour i see any differance on target the first two clips are withing 8 fps and third clip withing 4% thanks again and happy shootin

Love your channel! Great feedback and even better specs behind all of this. Question for you as a professional-would this humanely kill a coyote with a headshot? I have one coming through the creek to my backyard trying to eat my cat consistently.

Benjamin should have regulated this gun, and the other new ones they have, the semiautomatic marauder was a mistake, the armada would have been a good way to go, they should have been added a regulator to the marauder, yes the field target has one, no power..hatsan 125 vortex 22 cal putting out more power..the marauder 25 cal should 60fpe, if that's there flag ship, mk a 30cal 85-90 fpe, take the Bulldog power plant n put in the marauder, a new stock would be nice, but this should have been this way 3 years ago, same with gamo, that coyote should be 40-45fpe in 22 n make a 25 with 60fpe 33g at 900 fps, the urban should be 30-35 fpe all regulated...look at what air venture done, I have the avenger in 25, accurate with every pellet...great gun , 22 cal in next, getting from pyramid air, they have been out standing ...keep up the good work..the new benjamins look good
