I made a lamp somewhat like this last year. I spray painted drinking straws gold to use on mine and cut into the lengths I needed. I also wrapped tape around the ends of the macrame cord in the beginning .. that made threading the beads a breeze.
OMG! I've been eyeing that macrame pendant for over a year now, and finally decided to make it myself. I was going to use your macrame videos to learn how and then I found your video that specifically makes the pendant!!
Omg 🙂 I remember the Macrame when i was little they were very much in style in the 70s we use to have them in every corner of the house hanging with plants
Moving to Nevada in 8 months and want to decorate in a boho vibe. I want to make these with my adult daughters before I go. They are remaining in Chicago, not for long i hope but i think this will help me with feeling home sickness remembering us working on it together. Thankyou for this idea!!
I love this! I am probably not going to do this exact project but was watching more to learn from your macramé techniques. I’m creating some wall hangings for my daughter’s new “big girl” room and am just starting my macramé journey 🙈 Thank you!
Wow! Turned out amazing! You explained the techniques so clearly. I'm definitely making one for my daughter's bohemian theme bedroom makeover. Thanks so much!
I want to see a bag next! I'm trying to figure it out myself right now but not completely sure on how to start the edge of the bag or how to complete the bottom!
I have always wanted to learn how to do this. You make it seem so easy. Thank you for taking the time to explain everything. Wish me luck. Going to give it a try !
I'm still making them.. a year later! I'd made one different from yours then made one just like yours. Everyone who saw it wanted one so I've been busy, for a whole year, making more & more and finally started making them to sell at our annual community craft show. Between this & your macramé dip dye wall hanging & the multicolor wall hanging, macramé dog toy & macramé coasters my little booth is all about MaCenna's macramé!
To beat quickly dont trim bottom yet. You can dip the ends in glue, add hot glue, dip in a wax like to lole 3 to 4 inches up. Get an extra large straw, one big enough to thread yarn thrown and you can fit a bead throw. Pull the hardened end up and then thread beads on quickly amd easily. When finish then trim you ends.
Now this is brilliant! I’m in the planning stages of my bedroom makeover and I’m really feeling the boho vibe. I’ve been searching high and low for decorative pieces which I can create myself.... THIS beauty just made me so happy. I’ve already got a shit load of Macrame yarn leftover so all I need to buy is the beading (I’m thinking wooden beads to really make it “Earthy” and then get to work. I’ve noticed you’re really good at this DIY malarkey so I’m wondering if you could or have made any ceiling light shades out of the rattan/bamboo kinda materials? I’m loving binge watching your videos tonight. Cheers, Sweetcheeks, I’m learning loads! Love to you from England. xxx
Absolutly stunning ! I adoooore it and know now for sure that I wiil make one for my daughter's new house... when she moves in... in 2021 ! I could say I have "plenty" of time ... and projects ! Many tanks for teaching us so clearly your macrame methods and also for encouraging by trusting us about our creativity ! ... bisous from FRANCE ! (... "et voilà ! " 😉😆 😚😚😏 lol)
Love the tutorial! Question: in the final reveal, some of the columns of macrame puff outward and some fold inward, would you recommend using less columns so they lie flat and don't do that?
WHOAH! I wish you would have stopped after you did the row of three.. and talked me through how you created the Gap then two rows ekkk. I'm struggli g w keeping the space consistant. The design is soooo cute tho!
after watching your videos I am SO keen to do macrame but everywhere I look it is sold out. I live in Canada so stuff already takes forever to ship and the fastest I can get decent cord is 3 weeks :(
I know exactly what you mean! I’m out of macrame cord and can’t seem to find any. I looked on Etsy last night and sellers have some available I just don’t know how long it will take to ship
I definitely couldn't sit down and spend half a day tieing knots, but if there is someone out there willing to do that, I think the original used wayy more string. It was significantly longer.
Love it but u should of down sized to accomidate pattern more so it didnt bunch up so much n made it so it went straight since there isnt a way to make it wider at thr bottom like a bottom inner wire hoop or something..
Quick question did you cut your strands at 50 " or 60"? You write in your video 60" but you say 50". I sincerely love your videos ❤❤❤❤ you are very inspiring and you make it easy to follow along.😁😁😁

Guys, I think the space between each main string should be bigger, otherwise it may look bulky.

You somehow look like an Olsen twin, Kalel, Kathleen Lights, and Brittany Snow all at once 😂💖
