- There are loads of weird and wonderful London social groups. Rock art enthusiasts, Panini sticker collectors and Quidditch players. Here are some of Facebook's Very Old Skateboarders, who use social networking to meet up in the city. It's a whole new way of looking at skaters in London...

Congratulations! Skated as a kid, stopped when I was 24, and started up again when I was 39, after being diagnosed with diabetes. Being on your board is one of the best feelings in the world! It is wonderful that we all share in on it no matter age, nationality, or gender. Keep doing what you do. Lots of love from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.

just found this today,i'm 60 year old skater myself,(man)i got into it through surfing as well,most surfers do a bit of skating,but for me it took over,no 5 hour drives,no crowded line ups,i'm a loner so it suits me,its very addictive,and i can skate every day if i want,i got ramps,ledges kickers,i made in my own garden
couldn't agree more. i used to ski every winter my whole life but switched all that time and energy to skateboarding. i love how there's no queues or long drives

Note to whoever jobs it was to catch this wonderfull thing on film. Skateboarding is a sport, performed on a board. So try, to film the skater, riding on the board, and dont zoom in to much. You could even move with the camera, so following the person, in a shot. Its not that hard, to film. Skateboarding can be more difficult, respect for the ladys:)

i was taking my god daughter to the park on her "barbie bike" when she was like 7. She threw a hissy fit unless i took my old skate down hanging in the garage to ride with her (i told her i would break my neck on that old skate! but she persisted). I was about 45 at the time.. hadn't skated for years before that. After "sawtoothing" down a steep hill on the way to the park that day... i was like.. "damn! i can still skate!". I am 63 and skate every weekend, and occasionally go out on an after work night skate. I will skate until i can't. As Jay adams once said.. "you didn't quit skating because you got old, you got old because you quit skating" lol.

Right on if you love to skate you still are enjoying life,and we should you know when I was a teen it was like whatever, but at 48 I skate like it's my last time everytime. Because it might be soon, I hope not.
I'm 57 and I'm back on a board and why not.....

Pancho Moler has a pretty good one.. went from skating to acting for rob zombie... He was my security guard back in the day.. dwarf turned Giant...so proud of him.. peace love and empathy since 2018' .. no room for nothing else. Thank you for your understanding Mr. Ward

The Dogtown boys in the US, John Sablosky, Mark Baker and all the others here in the UK - they were my heroes.
Followed the Bones Brigade for years until life got in the way, and like the rest of us, I got distracted and forgot about skating. But purely by chance I caught a clip from 'Rollin' Down the Years' here on YT, and jeez it's all come flooding back - and what an absolute Joy it is😃😃
So I'm digging out my skate, and going for it, even though I can't do as much as I used to!!😂
