Alex Di Grassi's compositions are exquisitely beautiful and unique. He is truly outstanding among so many guitar soloists. My father was a classical guitarist and a fine one. I grew up as a child listening to him play all the classic compositions by Bach, Tarrega, Granados,etc. Thanks to him I grew up with a great love and appreciation for truly fine music.
Best solo guitar song ever, and the best song of Alex's life, in my humble listening opinion. I playguitar and love to play William Ackerman, but to learn this song by Alex. de Grassi is no small acheivment in the life of a guitarist. I honor the person who could, and did, create such profound, deep, as well as complex, beauty, that is so clearly, and impressively, expressed in this song. I bet Alex loved discovering this song and putting it together, such deep expression.

This is one of my favorites by Alex. Slow Circle, the LP that Sleeping Lady comes from is probably his masterpiece. If you can find it, buy it. I am praying that Sony will re-release it on Legacy Records some time in the near future, perhaps an anniversary edition? Alex is an amazing talent but, his work has never been as good as it was on Slow Circle or Turning: Turning Back, his best two works to date.
Hello Alex, Of all the music that you have written and composed and played, I think that Sleeping Lady is the most moving piece of music that's around in my head and my life. I recently introduced you to a guitar player friend of mine, and yes, he was floored, and hes a really really good player. Some time ago ,I was fortunate enough to meet you and see you perform in the Santa Cruz hills at that mansion. It was great to speak with you and just to learn of the Positiveness And seemingly effortless approach to guitar playing and the fret board. If I am driving and sleeping lady starts playing on the system in my vehicle, I literally have to pull over and just sit And truly enjoy the moment, or say a prayer or just close my eyes. And I do have the LP of Slow Circle. For the last 25 years, your talent and discipline Have had such a inspirational impact on my guitar playing And I play guitar in a slammin rock band, And you are still my go to guitar player to promote to a friend or colleague. Incredibly beautiful music! I too was raised on heavy metal all my youth, as one pointed out below, but find this so agreeable. I guess it shows us that the quality work of a talented musician transcends all borders?
i am a metalhead asw well and its been my experience that most if not all metalheads love classical style music ....may well be why metal music lends itself so well to classical interpretations too? idk but seems to be the case!!

there are a FEW tunes that stand up to that period...but not whole LPs ...I understand he goes into different directions nowadays a lot..but you cannot get any better than those two u mentioned :)

If you can find a copy of the album this comes from, Slow Circle, buy it immediately. It is a terrific collection, possibly his best work ever.
