    Brilliant demonstration! I have seen so many online grooming demonstrations and this one is by far the most professional, comprehensive and easy to follow than any I have ever viewed. Denise gives a detailed, running comentary on every move she makes on the dog, making a special point of explaining the safest way to cut under the body, ensuring a safe cut and no mishaps on the dog. Wonderful, wonderful presentation!!!! Thank you Denise.

    BEST DEMO EVER! . Thank you for taking your time to explain in plain English (no pun intended) your thoughts and goals as you scissor and sculpt your way through. I also really appreciate you sharing your knowledge on scissor skills. I have honestly learned more from this video than any other that I have ever watched and there have been many. Also, a huge shoutout to the Cameraman! Great closeups are appreciated in work like this. Beautiful and kind dog. Obviously Great Teamwork Here 👏♥️

    Stunning, I've just got back into dogvgrooming after having a child and 8 years off. These professional videos are great for refreshers and upskilling. Have to say I hate snap on combs, but with all these doodles and poo mixes I'm going to have to get into using them

    I already have a poodle/Jack Russell that ,up to 10 years old I have done with scissors.I now have just got a pure miniature poodle,black,I call Lagertha 💞Could I still trim her with scissors,she is a family pet so I won’t be showing her in competitions.You looked very gentle & kind.I have seen some on YT that upset me tbh xx

    Absolutely brilliant Denise. Thank you. The best groomer I've seen on UA-cam by far. I like the way you explain the way you groom, the scissor technique etc and how you were with the dogs. I've watched a few of yours now and have put them in my keep vid as I'm learning to be a dog groomer myself. Hopefully I can aspire to be as good as you are one day.

    Denise, this is a great educational demo. My wife and I have a Miniature Poodle that has a very similar shape and color to Teddy. Her snout has more silver though. She is smaller, about 11 pounds.
    We have given her to several groomers with varying results. I am studying how to groom her ourselves at home and your video is an excellent trainer. I am looking into grooming tools and I like your discussion of scissors. I saw the comment on the clipper and will look for it. What scissors do you use? And what is the best place to find them?
    Thank you for sharing your expertise.

      The breeder of my standard poodle told me she'd bathed, blow dried with a hair dryer and lightly trimmed all the puppies once a week from 2 weeks old. By the time I got Daisy at 12 weeks, she already knew to stand still and was fine with it. The groomer loved her, and said she was her favourite customer.

    Do you use conditioner after shampooing? I saw that suggested somewhere recently, and had never thought of putting conditioner on my late standard. Teddy is a gorgeous dog, and looks wonderful, loved the soft cut too, though personally prefer to see a smooth face on the muzzle. Thanks for very useful video

    You are an artist! I am so impressed. I just rescued a Mini Poodle, and my trimmers are not functioning well. I have an Andis Pro AGC 2 speed heavy duty trimmer with basic blades - #10, #7, and #50 (for medical treatment or close trims).
    Blades are getting hot very fast, and leaving burn marks on poor dog. I stopped and used scissors to finish the job. Why is this happening? Is the blade tension too tight? Too blunt? Clipper problem? Blades are fairly new, but I'm not an expert like you. Please give me some advice on what blades I need to do a pet sporty trim (take most hair off) on my poodle, and how to maintain my equipment. I would be very grateful to know.

      quite heavy.

    • @hazelwothington8766

      Andis are rubbish. You need to oil your blades. Test the heat of the blade against your wrist regularly. If uncomfortably warm, then the same will apply to your dogs skin. Remove blade from clipper, face down on a ceramic tile (dinner plate for example) and allow to cool. Re apply oil to blade when replacing back on clippers. Invest in another pair of clippers (Heiniger)

    • @lass-inangeles7564
      @lass-inangeles7564 4 роки тому

      @@hazelwothington8766 Thank you for your response! This was an old comment. I have since switched to Geib Buttercup blades. I still use the Andis AGC2 clippers though. I wondered about the Heiniger if that was any good. Glad to see that you agree. What blade brand do you use? Also, what do you use for doing toes on a small poodle? I am using Wahl BravMini tiny clippers but they are not good either. Really poor quality with a huge price tag of $80. Its the only one that does detail work on small dogs though. Do you know of any other tiny clippers that are good? Any advice on scissors? Its a huge investment, and no room for mistakes. Please let me know! I have searched so hard on the internet but cannot find good ones reasonably priced.

      Unless you take all the hair off him, you can't tell how much a poodle weighs, they're very racy underneath the fluff. My female standard (a modestly sized one) was huge in height next to this poodle, and her male brothers were several inches taller than her. He's definitely a miniature.

    • @BKStarlet08
      @BKStarlet08 8 років тому +2

      late reply, but yeah, I saw that video. I looked like she was being gentle as she could, but in that video Maggie was still a puppy, and still wasn't used to being groomed. she was shaking and whimpering from just standing on the table. Much like a child going to the salon or even the doctors for the first time, even giving your pup a bath the first few times, these are all unusual sensations that shock them a bit, but over time they learn that it's not so bad.

    • @lexell21
      @lexell21 7 років тому

      Maggie was red, not brown. And yes, the groomer was very rough with Maggie. Even though she wasn't used to being groomed you still have to be careful of course. She cut the dog at least 3 times, and Maggie being a puppy is not an excuse. This groom was much better I agree
