- In this travel vlog, we spend the day exploring the city of Haarlem. Haarlem is a lovely city located in The Netherlands, also known as "little Amsterdam", it is the perfect destination for a daytrip.
During the day we do a tour of a windmill, a boat cruise, visit a former prison & the big famous church. We also stroll around the city and have some yummy food!

I visited Haarlem in very late January 2024 absolutely great place very clean, interesting and relaxing place to visit. Would definitely go back and recommend.

Very nice vlog. I was born in Haarlem more than 71 years ago and lived here ever since. I live close to the former prison and the Adriaan wind mill.

I stayed in Haarlem and used it as a base. I recommend it. It's a pleasant place to come back to after a day in Amsterdam, Delft, Leiden, The Hague and others.
Increible!! Was in may in haarlem. I am argentinian, dutch roots! Tks for your great video. I couldn't go up adrian's windmill, now I Saw it 😊. I sat on the same bench, entered the same beautiful cafe, ate the same fries!!! Bye jani, have a good life. I am 74, 🎉❤

6:08, rebuild windmill De Adriaan. Was burned down in 1932. Is build on a former city wall tower to catch wind above the houses.

You def should visit Haarlem! It’s also close to the tulip region if you’re going in April 🤗
I highly recommend Zaanse Schans. It’s lovely and easy to reach via train.

I was there at the flower floats parked from the parade 23rd April and the fun fair was there then. Maybe they kept it for a while longer.
This was filmed a bit before that, but that might have very well been the reason they had it there!! 😊

fun fact the stairs leading down to the cinema that was a concrete floor of the prison it had to be dug out what a massive project that must have been, the buildings surrounding the koepel are also being renovated.

My wife is born in Haarlem, I worked for 10 years in Haarlem (at the court in the city centre) and now my daughter lives in Haarlem. Very nice city!

6:55, that big building was an army cavalry kaserne and for decades it is the main police station.
Ah the city where I was born and raised. Living there, I did not mind the city, but more the surroundings. Polder, dunes, forest, beach, heavy industry area, fishing port, ruined castle, all at cycling distance. Did you see the 17th century grave with the shortest text on in in the world in the St. Bavo? There is nothing on it but "Ik" (I). I find that humoristic. You are quite tough to do this with a migraine, by the way. I only had it once in my life, and I could not bear any light and hoped for death to come in a minute. It was unbearable.
How lovely! I have been to the national park Zuid Kennemerland a few times, and it’s so beautiful! 😊 do you maybe have any other areas/places nearby you’d recommend?
I have migraines quite often so that’s why i’m a bit more used to it and can kind of swith to this like ”autopilot mode” 😅 but the second I got home I went straight to bed even though it was only like 5/6pm..

@@wysiwyg2489 royal Delft is extremely, extremely expensive, though! Expect hundreds of dollars. You can find those vases for a few dollars in every souvenir shop in Amsterdam and Haarlem. OK they are chinese knock offs, but who cares?

haarlem ist eine kleine huebsche stadt mal ansehen
150000 einwohner und provinzstadt von der Provinz Noord-Holland. Amsterdam liegt nur in Noord-Holland. Haarlem war schon ein Stadt weil Amstelredam = ist der alte Name, ( jetzt Amsterdam) dann nur noch ein Dorf war.
