Keeping the humping Rottweiler away with a hockey stick is so Canadian. 😆 (I say this as a Canadian myself - we too find many uses for hockey sticks other than playing hockey.)
Love the intro music, very cool. Not bad for your first episode, needs a comfy couch with animals sprawled all over it…This is probably going to be bigger than your grooming channel if you get the right people on and hit the right topics. You’re going to be 1 very busy girl…don’t burn yourself out 👍
29:50 reminded me of one of the first beagles I groomed. Projectile pooped on the table. Got all over my tool drawers, me, the floor and some in my mouth. Never saw that dog again after telling the pet parent.
Congratulations Vanessa on the podcast. As a long time viewer of GWTD and GWTD2, I would argued Vanessa’s storytelling ability is the star of the videos besides the beloved cats and dogs (and a pig lol). Best wishes to Vanessa, the cameraman and the team 🥂
hey just wanna pop in and give Christina a big kudos! Her editing has been great and I love it when she adds like little counters with that sweet little bell sound effect; like the "escape counter" from the last Scottish fold's groom
About double coated dogs. I've had terriers for almost my entire life, a Westy, a Cairn and a Skye. They shed minimally but if I wanted to keep them at their best condition, they'd have to be brushed or groomed really frequently. The matting or at least knots is oh so real.
Although I am of age that it would not be feasible to have a dog, I receive a considerable amount of joy and pleasure, watching all of your UA-cam videos. And learning all that goes into grooming is fun and educational. Thank you!
One thing I really appreciate about your grooming videos is that you call out the cues the dogs give you and what they mean. It is really helpful as a large breed owner. I feel knowing more helps me to have more confidence, so thank you for that. 😉
I’ve been so excited for this podcast!! I’m 16 and currently doing both dog grooming and training. By watching your videos I’ve learned so much about dogs.
I sincerely appreciate knowing about your nails as they always look great on 'Girl With The Dogs' and 'Girl With The Dogs 2'. Tjought they might be acrylic...great natural nails, beautiful shape(uniform), colors, and fun designs.
Loving this format Vanessa!! We are treated to your knowledge of the animals you groom frequently, but rarely do we get to glimpse behind the curtain and see the person you are, beyond your absolute love of animals. Your few shorts on dog breeds hinted at your humour, and some of the other wonderful quirks you have, but this blog/interview style shows us your heart in general, and some of the connections we weren't quite making in your other social media. I look forward to the next episode, and the stories coming with it. You may be small of stature, but girl, you are mighty in heart and soul.
What a terrific idea Vanessa !! I’ll be looking forward to future podcasts ~ !! I left a comment about the great editing on a video- it’s Christina - woooo !! Love from Florida 🌴🌴🌴
I thoroughly enjoyed this....And I nevef sit and listen to podcasts, lol, never....too boring for me, personally.... So glad you started this and please, bring her back, OFTEN, because her demeanor and personality is awesome and, she's got a great voice!!
I played dog a LOT as a child too. Now I mainly draw dogs/animals and plan on illustrating a book about animal facts. 🥰 Love how some stuff just sticks with ya ❤
Loved seeing the two of you bounce off eachother! A great beginning! Bring Christina back! BTW, the music is a little weird, almost sounds like the beginning of a horror show....lol
I had a sheltie poodle cross who never needed shaving. Her fir was mostly sheltie fur. I did learn how to trim her paws and the bits of poodle fir sticking out on her legs, and teim het tail and "tail feathers". I brushed her regularly though. She was a very well-groomed dog. Never had her professionally groomed, but she didn't need any trimming for comfort, and I did take a grooming class with her when she was 4. So her feet and tail and tail feathers looked better from then on. My pet peeve is when people who for whatever reason can't get an animal professionally regularly, and who aren't willing to get the equipment and learn to do it at home, get a dog that requires grooming beyond brushing. A friend had these 3 poodle mixes that needed grooming as they had the poodle fur. They did get groomed maybe twice a year. Most of the time they were just scruffy and smelly and hard to brush. They were so cute for a few weeks after grooming, and happier.
OMG it's so cool you've decided to do a podcast! I'd love to see (if owners agree) IG link under the episode and/or videos from GWTD of you grooming their pets. I gotta pause and find these schnauzers now 😁
It is not unusual for cats to be only children. In the wild they are basically solitary animals, except for lions. Some cats do get bonded to other animals, whether other cats or dogs, or any other animal. It is not a normal occurrence. I am so happy you found a wonderful home for your little cat.
I'm so looking forward to your podcast. I've always really enjoyed all the great info you share about different breeds on your channels, so I'm excited to hear your upcoming discussions 🎉🎉
Super excited for your new podcast, long time fan of your grooming videos. Regarding carpal tunnel when editing/computer use, I find it's important to let your arm relax between clicks to prevent the most severe side effects. When I used to keep my muscles in the lower arm and near the wrist tight, the repetitive stress injuries would be exacerbated.
The wrist bands as well as if you can get a "hot wax" machine. It will really help your hands if you have any form of "inflammation of the joints" You don't have to have "arthritis" to have inflamed joints.
My name is Valerie, and I have two dogs. My oldest dog is almost 8 years old, and he is a Dachshund, Chihuahua, Pug, Shar-Pei mix. My youngest dog is 5 years old, and a Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua mix. Their names are Gremlin and Gizmo.
I just got recommended this video(instant click) and thought to myself "How could I have missed a full podcast channel from her!" just to realize that this is the first video lol Wish you the best on this new project, I'm here for it! 💕
So excited to see your podcast and meet Christiina. Very informative and enjoyable. I am like you, I love all animals. I can't have a dog at this point in my life, but I am going to get another cat.
Love this! I have been enjoying the channel for some time now - well done for the podcast and all your fund raising initiatives. P.S. I so wanted to close that drawer behind you!
Another point about the double coated dog , is my rescue boy came to me shaved , because he had been a stray and was matted and loaded with burrs etc … it’s a shame !
My wife and I are huge fans of both your other GWTD channels so we’re pretty much automatic new subscribers here. Sadly we’re in California so we won’t be attending the event in person.
My huskies have been talking their tails off for years. Great start of your new channel and I will be waiting to see how this develops. You need to follow what you love and comes naturally.
Well done, Vanessa. And lovely getting to meet Christina. I wasn't sure I'd stick around for the full podcast, but surprisingly, I found your and Christina's stories and experiences most interesting and engaging. Looking forward to the next one.
I am loving your podcast so much!!! I do wish your dogs could make some appearances in these videos. I know it’s a podcast and people are listening, but even just saying who is here to say hi, would be so fun. Keep up the amazing work, I love listening to you talk to your friends about everything and anything!!❤❤❤
If you have symptoms in your wrists due to using a regular mouse, you should get a rollermouse. It's much better. I've used it for years now on a daily basis, never had any issues.
audio is great. might have to think about lighting/angles for the yt vids 🙏 (eg those extra chairs made me think more people were gonna appear). content was fun to listen to 😂 so many burning questions to address 🤣
I loved this! Been a fan of GWTD for a while now. Would totally pay to even just see this(but free is always good :). You're one of the reasons I went to my local humane society and adopted my now ESA dog. He's the sweetest pitbull mix(that literally looks like he's got some sort of retriever mixed in, he's a cream color, with like white in some places. I got a DNA test and no retriever in him haha), he loves people, just isn't a fan of other dogs(or probably other animals), he can be aggressive, but other than that he just needs some leash training and then he's just the perfect ESA. Anyway, love your stuff!
Vanessa, please take care of your shoulders and your hands. It’s crucial. Take it from somebody who knows. Do yourself a favor and get a tens unit it really helped me with my hands, wrist, shoulders and back. Even though I did end up having shoulder surgery, hand, surgery, and back surgery I continue to use my tens unit to this day. It really helps.
Also with people that are allergic to cats they are allergic to whatever is in their saliva when they lick themselves so if you have a cat and you have visitors coming or something and they are allergic it might be a good idea to give them a bath just to lessen the allergens. :)
Besides the points Vanessa made. It just makes the cats FEEL better. They cannot LICK down to their skin. When they get old it's hard for them to groom at all. Mine all hated it but you can just TELL they feel better after by their behavior. How would you like to go your entire life with soap and water never touching your skin.
I'm allergic to cats and dogs. For dogs, we get a "doodle" of sorts, which I am fine with. For cats, we go bengal, because I am not reactive to them. There is always a way!
I love these podcasts! You have so easy listen voice. and I love your jeans, where are they from? If Vanessa does not have time to answer, could someone watching this video give me a hint where I could find those jeans?
My child bff had a rottweiler named Adolf and he never let anyone pet him. I was always at my bff’s house and I’m sure the dog could smell me, but he never got used to me. To this day I can’t stand rottweilers or most big dog breeds. I’m a cat person and had a very independent white cat as a kid. But I do like calm dogs that don’t jump on me because I’m 5’3
I'm catching up on the last few GWTD2 videos, but wanted to check out your podcast channel. So, I'll be back but for now: I am trying to figure out why I failed to realize how much you resemble Lindsey Stirling. I think it's been tugging at the back of my mind for a while, but never completely solidified because quite some time has passed since the time I last recall her having red hair. She also has (had?) a dog named Luna whom she holds dear....well, there are other similarities but that's enough. Anyway. Thanks for listenable content. I will return. 🤎.
Which day. Will you post your weekly episode ❓️❓️
Tuesdays at 7am EST
I'd put that is the description
Vanessa, you have a great podcasting voice. Well wishes on this new adventure!
Melvin should be the co-host in the next episode.
Yes! Bring one of your pups along with your human besties!
Crazy lil ACE!!
Keeping the humping Rottweiler away with a hockey stick is so Canadian. 😆 (I say this as a Canadian myself - we too find many uses for hockey sticks other than playing hockey.)

Now I know why Vanessa's hair is always so supernaturally fabulous.
Also, I think Vanessa is trying to think of a carabiner clip.
Your voice is perfect for doing podcasts!
29:50 reminded me of one of the first beagles I groomed. Projectile pooped on the table. Got all over my tool drawers, me, the floor and some in my mouth. Never saw that dog again after telling the pet parent.

Way to go Christina! You do great work. We love you and Vanessa both. ❤

Thank you!
Wonderful podcast. The two of you are so cute together. You can tell you have known eachother for a long time.
One thing I really appreciate about your grooming videos is that you call out the cues the dogs give you and what they mean. It is really helpful as a large breed owner. I feel knowing more helps me to have more confidence, so thank you for that. 😉

i just watched this vid and saw ur comment. how is grooming going? pls tell me u didnt quit 😭
I sincerely appreciate knowing about your nails as they always look great on 'Girl With The Dogs' and 'Girl With The Dogs 2'. Tjought they might be acrylic...great natural nails, beautiful shape(uniform), colors, and fun designs.
I have taken note that Vanessa's nails always look gorgeous! So, nice job Christina!

Omg it's out already?!! The way Vanessa made it sound in the voice overs was like it was forever away 😭
I'm so excited!!! 🎉❤
LMAO at the mental picture of these two warding off Tex the Mad Humping Doberman with hockey sticks 😂😂😂
It was a Rottweiler, not a Doberman.
A dog and cat fashion show would be so cute. And yes, Vanessa's nails always look great.

My hands used to cramp horribly if I did a lot of clipping
You have lovely BATTERY operated clippers
Ours were oster A5’s with awkward cords
Just found❤❤❤❤❤ I wait for your videos to drop on girl 1 & 2 every day! Great nails, Christina!
Congratulations on the podcast Vanessa... good luck. Have subscribed and sharing

I believe the clip you are describing is a carabiner. This is a great podcast. Thank you!
No wonder why your hair is always so cute Vanessa!! Hair school!
So excited for this new channel. Finally a podcast I want to follow!! Greetings from Mexico, Tocaya!
Great podcast Vanessa! I can’t believe how long your was! Your friend Christina is very enjoyable!

I Automatically subbed here, from your other 2 channels and your brother's channel. ;)

Very interesting/educating. I love your voice and the way you talk Vanessa. Good job! 🤗
Love this! I have been enjoying the channel for some time now - well done for the podcast and all your fund raising initiatives. P.S. I so wanted to close that drawer behind you!
Vanessa your hair is so beautiful! I can't wait for new episodes -- I love podcasts and I am a dog mama. So this is perfect for me! 🥰

My huskies have been talking their tails off for years. Great start of your new channel and I will be waiting to see how this develops. You need to follow what you love and comes naturally.

Love your complicity..wanna ear more childhood story's 😂❤
LOL! I didn’t recognize you at first glance with your hair down! LOVE YOUR magnificent mane!! 😍👊
Yayyyyyyyyy!!! So excited for your podcast 🤗🤗🤗👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
If you have symptoms in your wrists due to using a regular mouse, you should get a rollermouse. It's much better. I've used it for years now on a daily basis, never had any issues.
congrats on the podcast! it would be fun if you had dog trainers on, great breeders, etc.
Great first episode!

Off to a great start! Looking forward to the next one already :-)
I love it
I dont know if its been said before, but ive also been told that yoga or pilates help build your core as well
Been looking forward to this Podcast! ♥👍 Tex, the serial humper, my spirit animal!! 😂

I wish you somehow get to collaborate with dr. Mike. He has two Newfoundlands and it would just be wonderful imp
1:1 ratio CBD and THC salves and lotions on the inside of my wrists helped me. Overnight worked perfect.
Bring ace and melvin and gidget next time❤❤❤
30:10 Just move in with Maya :D. She already has a cow too!
Loved it!!!!

Christina (?) needs to try a vertical mouse. Game changer!
ooh 😊 sweet
Oh, I didn’t know until now that the girl with dogs has a podcast now.
Awesome!!!
It's so nice to see your beautiful hair down. 😍
YAYYY!!! obsessed
Did anyone see the open drawer? Is there a dog bed in it? So curious 👀
Cristina reminds me of Jenny Slate. I was kinda expecting her to say “I have done nothing wrong ever in my life” 😅
