That chairlift ride looked really harrowing😅, but the views seem rather lovely.

It was a steep one for sure! Great views though and an enjoyable day.

Thanks for watching the video Tom. Yes I really enjoyed my day in Vianden, such a beautiful little town! Wow it sounds like you've seen it many times over - has it changed much in the time you've been going there?

@@MattWhitingsEurope we'll i've dwelling into the woods since day one,i've going there and in Germany across the border. It's changed because the old campingsite op dem deich is closed for the big public.. witch is a big sorry for many of campers, mutch hotels are closed and the old italian ice cream maker and café is gone aswel, that chap had the best icecream i've ever eaten. but ill gess modern day's has a destructieve way... The little shops could'nt match the big ones in Mersch and quit...one by one... Also i'll thinking the cheap holliday's in other countries spain etc... Has something to do with it and most young people are going that way .. But i'm stull loving it and going there until the very end.

That's really interesting, in many respects it's sad how the larger chains and supermarkets have pushed the little businesses out of the smaller towns and villages across Europe but then I guess there are some advantages to that as well. It sounds like the local businesses in Vianden have found it tough over the last 30 years or so. Have you been there since the pandemic - just wondering how the place is faring?

Yes let's hope things return to normal (or as close to normal as possible) in time for 2022! I'd love to revisit Vianden at some point in the future, it would be nice to walk around and see that beautiful castle on the hill again!

Hope I did it justice - I really enjoyed my day trip there, it was lovely and quiet and there was so much to see and do. I would imagine it’s a nice place for some hiking/walking. Thanks for your comment!
