I like how Bruce says "there's some good stuff on that" in response to their reaction to his solo. He says it very matter of fact without a hint of ego. He carries himself very well. A true legend comfortable in his own skin.
He is just doing his thing ..that is how he started out as a guitar player ... then the world got to experience one of the best song writers in the world . and I am proud to say we are both from Freehold NJ ..granted he is almost 20 years older than me but when I was a young girl I loved him and I still do.
so what.. he´s not competing anyone here, he´s playing a solo that grooves & thats what it is all about in straight rock n roll. anyone that wants to hear perfection better goes to concerts where they play beethoven & stuff.. regards from europe...
if your not a fan of bruce or Warren then why would you watch this video just to say negative things??..I don't watch DMX videos just to say negative things ...I just don't watch it at all...wank notes? lol....I guess your probably more famous then bruce ...and although it's not technical as Hendrix or van Halen it fits the song to a T...anyone can be technical...I would much rather listen to this then some flashy solo with no meaning ...to take a simple solo and make it great is much better then a "hard' solo that has no feel. their is a reason guys like this, neil young for example ...number 17 on rolling stones greatest guitar players ...lol really? yeah really , even though there are way better players then him technically, their is a reason he is there...some jealous guitar players will never understand...few buddy's of mime , are waaaay better players then bruce but have nothing but good things to say about him. but I guess you know more because so many people have heard of you and not bruce springsteen..."perfection. in Imperfection"someone put I think , well said....lol wank
Rare footage, this. The group is genuinely, politely interested in Bruce's lead solo. Generally there's little interest in his lead guitar playing. I started listening to Bruce when Asbury Park first came out, then over the years I went back and listened to some earlier recordings. By the early 1970s his bandmates had helped him focus on his strengths, composing, writing, arranging, leadership, and charismatic stage presence. So with Asbury Park we appreciate those without the distraction of his wanna be leads. If you listen to his earliest lead playing, late 1960s and early 1970s, the lead he's playing here is just as adequate, mediocre. -Doug Pratt, Atlanta, Georgia, USA
The Grammy was for warrens song. And so many great songs, probably the best songs you could argue - have never won any accolades. It’s very basic playing. But it has attitude so that counts for something. But doesn’t make it good overall

That would make you & me about the same age --> Wall High School '84 (Life-long Bruce fan! :-)
Me too(brother still there) I escaped to Marlboro lol
My 2 favorite song writers theres. Scooter and the Envoy.
He sure can... probably one of the most underrateed guitar players in rock and roll today
craig mac lol
Bruce is a great songwriter and legendary performer. However there's a reason his band has 3 other guitar players.
@@Hulkhoagie1 he was the only player on his first three albums. You’re very mistaken I’m afraid

I really like Springsteen's lead guitar on this song! Even though Bruce was never known for his lead guitar prowess.
Better step your game up, knowing you're recording with a dying man right next you!🔥
It totally suits the song and I've grown to appreciate it over the years!💯 ✅️
Pues Bruce es sus comienzos era un reputado guitarrista, así que parece ser que no lo sabes todo @@RickFFingDalton
This song kicks my ass every time I listen to it!
🎯💯
bruce is the man!! "rock n roll ... alive and kicken"
Take one, nails it. Amazing.

it's mean and raw and perfect solo for this song.
🎯💯✅️
Badassery, I didn't know he had in him before I bought this CD about 20 years ago!🔥
disorder in the howz
thas why hes the baawz
Great
WOW!!!!!
@bobmarleyisgod1 Absolutely. There's a great deal of perfection in imperfection.
Wait......they actually got rid of Gravity Hill?!? That ain't right.....
who's this Bruce and zevon???
Not great. Not great. But Bruce never said he was Clapton. His thing is the whole band sound. He leaves the lead to Steve and Nils.
untrue
I rarely if ever see Steve play lead. Nils will take solos, but still not necessarily "lead". Bruce still plays the signature riffs.as well as solos.
That's all the footage that was released, sorry.
he is not shredding...where does he do it? however i love bruce springsteen! ;)
High I live about 10 minutes from there and Bruce was telling the truth about Gravity Hill it sounds stupid but did Happen
It's funny that he didn't want an explanation. He'd rather have the magic and the mystery.
that wasnt bad, its a little billy gibbonish in places, which is no bad thing
Well I got this guitar and I learned how to make it talk...
what isnt he good at?
craig mac playing the guitar

Any one who thinks this is a good guitar solo is blinded by Bruce fandom. It is just pure garbage.
You're an idiot. Read my comment above which was a response to another idiot.
The song only won a Grammy...what the hell do they know about music...

Hey post your soloing.
