Subway Tooter - a highly customisable open-source Mastodon app for Android

Although Tusky is a beautifully rendered app, it lacks the ability to add multiple customised hashtag columns (tabs) - it does have a basic "any" hashtag option, but not "all" or "none" options. Tusky can clear all notifications globally, but not just individual ones.
Then I found Subway Tooter! It's not as pretty (but see modified colours screenshot further down in description), or as slick, as Tusky, but it is far more functional and customisable. So power users may well want to consider using Subway Tooter. This video will give a feel for it looks like, how the columns, filtering, posting, etc work. I also delve into the app privacy notice a bit, as it was clear some were put off from installing it, after seeing such a lot of text.
I'm trying out posting this video in a portrait format so that it can be better viewed on mobile devices. Unfortunately some artefacts and banding are visible at the beginning of the video, which appeared during the rendering, and I could not remove it (I think the issue was partly due to the variable bitrate of the recording on my phone).

Holy cow, that's a developer's app if I've ever seen one - slightly ugly, needs several days to learn but all the options! As I'm still new to Mastodon I will keep Tusky as my daily driver for now but I will definitely play around with this one.

@@alexalekos OK I'm not sure what else it's going to export though (like my login etc) so I'm not keen on exporting and sharing that, but I did log a request to have my colour settings added as a new selectable theme at github.com/tateisu/SubwayTooter/issues/203, and the dev is looking at adding that as an enhancement. You can go to the issue and like or comment there. It is actually a very minor change on his side, so should not be a lengthy job to do.
