    I'm SO GLAD I came back to watch this, did a crackle but I didn't put enough crackle med on, I thought j was gonna have to strip all the paint off. But nope, it really does wash right off with warm water.

    Gorgeous! I've been working with this brand of Crackle. Mine looked like your first one. I finally found some instructions at the very bottom of the bottle that says use a thin coat. Maybe that matters. I really don't know. I also got HUGE breaks, not just lines. Anyway, thank you for this tutorial. I'm trying to get my courage up to try again!

    Yes! I've been waiting for this video! I still feel special to get a sneaky peak. I just love watching can't wait to have a tumblr to call my own! I'm excited! You're so funny. I love the reveal with the music makes it fun. Loving this crackle. Looks aged with it. I think it's better you didn't do resin before the water slides because the look aged like they're crackled. I like the texture it gives. Can't wait to see the next video!

    Did you put the clear cost between the base coat and crackle or the white paint and the waterslide?

  • @maribelhartman4600

    You let the white paint to dry for how long before sealing it with clear coat? How many coats do you put? After placing the water slide do you seal it with clear coat as well? TIA.

    • @DuncanCustomAirbrush
      @DuncanCustomAirbrush  4 роки тому

      I waited until i was sure it was fully dry,, maybe an hour or two. Sealed it with 4 coats. I do seal again after the waterslide

    Would spray paint work if you used it for the white part? Just curious. This cup is so pretty! I just bought some crackle a couple weeks ago, def need to try it already

  • @marymurray3500
    @marymurray3500 4 роки тому +1

    Professional opinion!! I want to make a tree bark one. So spray paint the tumbler dark green...crackle paint then alcohol inks for depth. Do I need to seal the white paint before the alcohol inks or should it be ok?

    • @DuncanCustomAirbrush
      @DuncanCustomAirbrush  4 роки тому

      You definitely have to seal it, water or "wetness" could potentially reactivate the crackle medium and mess it up, essentially if you are applying the alcohol inks with a brush

  • @teamredwaltz6249

  • @manda1432

    This looks much easier than the elmers glue method.. I want to try this out for my next creation, but I have a question.. do you think I’d be able to do a glitter peek a boo with the crackle medium?

    • @DuncanCustomAirbrush
      @DuncanCustomAirbrush  4 роки тому

      I know you can, a friend of mine has done it...just don't paint the Crackle Medium on the areas that you want to be peekaboo

  • @wickedstang2003
    @wickedstang2003 2 роки тому +1

    Do you know how to make bigger cracks to really see what's underneath?

    • @DuncanCustomAirbrush
      @DuncanCustomAirbrush  2 роки тому

      It may have to do with either the amount of crackel medium, or the amount of paint.....or a combination. I would have to do some experimenting if i was looking to control for a specific outcome.

      I painted the crackle medium on and actually left it for 2 days because I forgot about it, lol, but I think ti answer your question, all preceding layers need to be fully dry before proceeding 👌😉

    You probably don’t know what kind of paint brush you used do you ? Was it made of nylon ?
    I swear the easiest tumbler techniques are so difficult for me . I just had to wash my tumbler off for the second time . Either use too much paint and it drips on my Turner , or not enough and it clumps up. I swear I was lightly brushing it on too .

    • @DuncanCustomAirbrush
      @DuncanCustomAirbrush  4 роки тому

      Yeah that stuff is finicky. I'm not sure what the brush is made of, it probably came in a pack from Walmart. It is the same brush I use for my Tack-It also.

  • @kaseyleet7218

    Been trying to do this, but my crackle medium just keeps beading up. Like oil & water. I thought at first it was because I used acrylic paint as a base, but tried it again. With a spray painted base and it was worse. Any ideas on what to do?

    • @DuncanCustomAirbrush
      @DuncanCustomAirbrush  4 роки тому

      I used purple Rustoleum 2x spray paint base. It was glossy (because that was all I had), so I lightly sanded it to dull it up and give it a surface that it can adhere to. That could be a possible problem...or, maybe your crackle medium is old🤷🏻‍♂️. Were you using the same kind I was?

    • @kaseyleet7218
      @kaseyleet7218 4 роки тому +1

      @@DuncanCustomAirbrush ... yup same kind. I didn't sand though. I'll try that.

      Yes I did 👍 .... I just went back and watched because I was going to give you a time stamp, but I must have edited that part out. Sorry, but yes, I put at least 3 coats of sealer before waterslide because water washes off the crackle stuff

    • @nancycraig4672

    I've watched so many of these videos, and informationaly, there great and I love it. But sometimes, dam it's painful listening to the commentary. WITH THA SAID, you're full of character and im sure an interesting person as I feel I am as well. So change... no way, but sometimes I feel like I'm skipping over a bunch of the videos to get to what I want to learn from it with all of the "extra" stuff. But I see you've got a ton of followers and people love it. But the video could probably be cut in half. Yet again, with that being said, I do love the videos and you're really good at what you do. Guess this is just my personal opinion and I like to express it. And of uou changed the way you make your content, maybe it wouldn't be so successful 🤷‍♂️. But thanks for some really great information man. 👍

    It’s weird how I probably would’ve added the paint first then crackle on top of the paint. See they need to add “destructions”,I mean instructions on the bottle. 🤣
